RUSH: Jon Kyl last Friday in Tempe, Arizona, at the North Tempe tea party town hall meeting, unidentified guy said, ‘What’s going on with the US Senate as well as Obama, because it looks like he’s gonna challenge our immigration bill here.’
KYL: I met with the president in the Oval Office, just the two of us. The problem is, he said, if we secure the border, then you all won’t have any reason to support comprehensive immigration reform. In other words, they’re holding it hostage. They don’t want to secure the border unless and until it combined with comprehensive immigration reform.
RUSH: So Kyl is claiming that the White House told him that if we secure the border, then you Republicans, you won’t have any reason to support comprehensive immigration reform because securing the borders will fix the problem. And of course comprehensive immigration reform is simply the largest get-out-the-vote drive, voter registration drive in the history of the country. It’s called amnesty. Amnesty is the single largest voter registration drive in the history of the country, and that’s what Obama wants. And what he’s essentially telling Kyl is, ‘Look, if we secure the border and we keep our potential new voters out, then there’s no reason for comprehensive reform,’ which is the massive registration of all these people. The White House this morning told ABC News that Jon Kyl is lying. ‘The President didn’t say that and Senator Kyl knows it,’ said communications director Dan Pfeiffer. ‘There are more resources dedicated toward border security today than ever before, but, as the President has made clear, truly securing the border will require a comprehensive solution to our broken immigration system.’

RUSH: Well, the White House — the deputy press spokesman, a guy name Bill Burton — just claimed at the press briefing that Jon Kyl lied about his meeting with Obama. You know, I would suggest this to any Republican going to an Oval Office meeting with Obama: Wear a wire or carry a concealed recorder of some kind. Not even just the Oval Office. Any time you going to be talking to Obama, carry a wire. ‘The White House spokesman went on to say that Obama had doubled the number of Border Patrol agents on the border,’ which is also not true. There has not been a doubling of the number of agents down there. The number of agents has doubled, but you have to go back to 2004 when it was beefed up by Bush. Obama hasn’t doubled anything at all.
BREAK TRANSCRIPT
RUSH: Here from ABC News and Jake Tapper: ‘White House: Senator Kyl Not Telling Truth About Immigration Reform Conversation — White House officials challenged the veracity Monday of an account of a private conversation Sen. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz., said he had with President Obama.’
Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. ‘The White House Monday rejected Kyl’s account. ‘The President didn’t say that and Senator Kyl knows it,’ White House communications director Dan Pfeiffer told ABC News. ‘There are more resources dedicated toward border security today than ever before, but, as the President has made clear, truly securing the border will require a comprehensive solution to our broken immigration system.” Well, it seems like everybody lies except Obama. Everybody else is lying. Obama never does. You notice how similar they’re treating this to the treatment of the Gulf. Obama won’t plug the hole in the border until he gets what he wants, comprehensive immigration reform. He’s not going to plug the hole in the Gulf until he gets what he wants. So the interesting question now is: How long will it be before Kyl is asked by his own party to apologize for lying about our dear president?
