RUSH: Snerdley just asked me if the Tiger humiliation tour is over. I haven’t been able to catch much of this and I didn’t want to join it in progress for any of it. He’s been pretty somber. I haven’t been able to judge much of it just from listening to it a couple seconds so I’ll have to wait. I know we’re rolling on it. RUSH: Here’s a sound bite from Tiger, by the way, question: ‘Do you still feel the same way about the pursuit of Jack Nicklaus’ records, winning golf tournaments, or does that have to take a different perspective now considering what’s happened to you?’
WOODS: What I’ve done here, it puts it in perspective; it’s that it’s not about championships, it’s about how you live your life. And I hadn’t done that the right way for a while, and I need to change that. And going forward, I need to be a better man going forward than I was before. And just because I’ve gone through treatment doesn’t mean it stops. I’m trying as hard as I possibly can each and every day to get my life better and better and stronger, and if I win championships along the way, so be it.
RUSH: Now, some people are going to interpret this as Tiger saying to hell with Jack Nicklaus, to hell with winning championships. If that happens, so be it. If people believe this, what he’s basically saying here is that ‘I’ve got a whole different focus.’
