It’s the only poll that says that, by the way. In every other poll it’s dropping. Bloomberg: Favor 38%. CBS News poll: Favor 37%. CNN: Favor 39%. That’s after it’s signed. Gallup, USA Today, show a 49-40 approval. They asked David ‘Rodham’ Gergen about that last night.
GERGEN: It’s been a strange thing that’s happened in the media in the last 24 hours, and that is up until about, uhhh, 24 hours ago the media was all saying, ‘This bill is very unpopular. Democrats are really putting their heads in a noose. They’re really taking big risks, big gambles,’ and suddenly today it’s like, ‘Oh, the Republicans don’t have the much of a shot here. Why are they going to fight this? Why, it’s the law of the land.’

GERGEN: This bill remains very unpopular in very significant segments of the country, not in big urban centers. In big swaths of the country people are angry, they’re upset, they’re anxious, they’re worried about the deficit.
RUSH: And they are ought to be, and there’s David ‘Rodham’ Gergen basically affirming here. It’s a CNN poll; he’s gotta say that. So USA Today/Gallup is totally making up.
