RUSH: See, I Told You So. The media is now starting to acknowledge that voters are starting to have buyer’s remorse. This is based on two polls out there that show that over half the country or at least half the country, think that Obama is a failure after his first year. Again, cutting edge of societal evolution.

RUSH: I predicted this was going to happen. This is November 3rd, 2008. I made this prediction before the election. I mean, this is a huge See, I Told You So day for old El Rushbo out there.

RUSH ARCHIVE: I don’t think that the substance of who [Obama] is is relevant. Otherwise he wouldn’t be above 30%. He’s a symbol of something to a lot of people. He’s a blank slate and they are making of Obama whatever they want him to be. If he wins this, there is going to be some severe buyer’s remorse.

RUSH: ‘Severe buyer’s remorse.’ I said that the day before the election, November 3rd, 2008. This morning, on Morning Joe, PMSNBC, the syndicated columnist Mike Barnicle said this about President Obama. Mika Brzezinski pipes in here, too.

BARNICLE: You have more and more people, at least anecdotally I’ve picked this up, edging towards buyer(‘s) remorse over their vote for Barack Obama. It’s very interesting.

MIKA: Yeaaaah.

RUSH: Yeah. ‘It’s very interesting.’ Once again, folks: If you listen to this program, you will know what’s going to happen (if it involves liberals) long before anybody else. You know, I’m not clairvoyant, and I’m not able to see the future. I have no crystal ball. All I have is an encyclopedic knowledge of liberals, how they operate, how they get people to vote for them, and who they are. And it was clear as a bell. Here’s a guy campaigning on zero substance, campaigning on a feel. He was blank slate. People could make Obama out to be whatever you wanted him to be, and people were doing that. ‘We’ve never had somebody like this before! (Gasp!) Politics will never be the same! We’re all going to love each all get long post-racial, post-partisan, post-achievement,’ and none of it has happened and the situation economically continues to get worse and worse and worse. The administration lies and lies and lies about it. They promised transparency. The health care bill is happening and nobody knows what’s in it. Nobody knows what’s going on after he promised eight times to televise it on C-SPAN.

Look, it’s just very simple. The only thing that confuses me is — it doesn’t really confuse me. It frustrates me. If I can become encyclopedically knowledgeable of liberals, so can you. So can everybody. And there has been plenty of liberalism over the course of my life for me to learn absolutely who these people are, how they operate, and what’s going to happen when they are in charge. You can look at Detroit. You can look at New Orleans. You can now look at California, which has been run into the ground by liberal Democrats shoring up nothing but unions and state workers and so forth. And now Schwarzenegger is making it even worse. He’s considering the nation’s first statewide green building code. That is absolute disaster for the construction industry in California! What the hell is a green building code? All it’s going to be is further restrictions on liberty, freedom, and the use of entrepreneurial ideas that people have in developing homes, buildings, whatever kind of commercial or residential development that takes place. It’s simply a disaster. It’s an absolute disaster. So buyer’s remorse. I was able to say it before the election. That’s why I was able to say I wanted him to fail and now half the country in polls says his first year has been a failure.

RUSH: Michelle in Tampa, glad you called. Hello.

CALLER: Oh, my God, Rush? I can’t believe I’m talking to you. I’m so excited.

RUSH: Thank you very much.

CALLER: I am so glad that you’re healthy, thank God, don’t go anywhere, we need you.

RUSH: Thank you. I did actually get a clean bill of health out in Hawaii.

CALLER: I know, but I want you to keep up all the working out and the eating. I’m very proud of you.

RUSH: Thank you very much. Yes, I intend to.

CALLER: Okay, my comment is this. And you had actually said earlier that you made a prediction, and your prediction came true, like you usually do. Well, I want to remind you that you also had another prediction come true. In the AP article this morning when Obama himself said that he has not unified this country, that he’s actually divided it and that next year he’s gonna focus on that.

RUSH: Yes.

CALLER: You predicted that was going to happen as well, so kudos as usual.

RUSH: Of course. And again it’s not because I’m exceedingly intelligent, although I am, it’s not because I have a crystal ball. It’s because I know liberals.

CALLER: That’s right.

RUSH: I know that frauds are eventually exposed, and this is a big one. She’s right. Thank you, Michelle. People magazine via the AP: ‘President Barack Obama says he has not succeeded in bringing Americans together, acknowledging an atmosphere of divisiveness that has washed away the lofty national feeling that surrounded his inauguration a year ago. ‘That’s what’s been lost this year … that whole sense of changing how Washington works,’ Obama conceded in an interview with People magazine. The president said his second-year agenda will be refocused on uniting the country around common values, ‘whether we’re Democrats or Republicans.”

Well, I’ll tell you what, Mr. President, a good way for you to start this second-year agenda would be to end this relentless push for health care reform, which, in case you haven’t noticed, has no support from anyone outside the Democrat Party, and not even a majority of them. ”We all want work that’s satisfying, pays the bills and gives children a better future and security,’ Obama said in the interview, which the magazine conducted with the president and his wife, first lady Michelle Obama, at the White House on Jan. 8.’ Now, if Mr. Obama really feels this way, why has he done so many things to hurt the economy and our national security? We all want work that’s satisfying — these are just words. ‘We all want work that’s satisfying, pays the bills and gives children a better future.’ Well, why are you doing what you’re doing, then? Because what you’re doing is not advancing any of those ideals. And why are you pushing more initiatives, like cap and trade? It will do even more damage than you’ve already done.

So he hasn’t united us, it’s a major failure, concedes it’s a big problem but he’s going to make it a focal point of his second-year agenda. I thought that’s what he was doing this year. I thought all of this was to bring us all together and get postpartisan and all that. It’s only going to get worse, folks, by design and on purpose.
