RUSH: Jeff in New York City. Welcome to the EIB Network. Hello.

CALLER: Mr. Limbaugh.

RUSH: Yeah.

CALLER: Hi. I just wondered if you read the Daily Kos today.

RUSH: I have not. I never do.

CALLER: Markos, you know him?

RUSH: Well, I know of him, yeah.

CALLER: He’s on Olbermann all the time.

RUSH: I don’t watch that, either.

CALLER: He’s turned his back on Obama.

RUSH: The Daily Kos has turned its back on Obama?

CALLER: Yes, sir.

RUSH: Over what?

CALLER: Over this compromised health initiative.

RUSH: And you take from this what?

CALLER: I take from it that there’s a real splintering among the lefties, a true splintering, and I really think that their chances of winning further elections are going to be more slim as time goes on.

RUSH: Well, let me take a wild guess, since I don’t read the Daily Kos. I hear about it when people send me things on it but I don’t go there. And I don’t watch Olbermann.

CALLER: I like to watch the opposition.

RUSH: Well I don’t, because I know what they’re going to say before they say it, and I’m one who tries to enjoy life as much as I can and not subject myself to stuff I already know. That’s what staff’s for. They’re paid well to watch that crap. But anyway, let me take a wild guess. The Daily Kos is all ticked off because they think Harry Reid’s taking the public option out? Is that right?

CALLER: Well, let’s see. Yeah, that’s part of it. Yeah.

RUSH: What’s the other part of it?

CALLER: Well, what happened here was that President Obama sent him a letter, an e-mail asking for five-dollar donations, and that set him off on a rant.

RUSH: Oh, I’ve got that letter. Obama did, and let me find this letter here. Here it is. We sign ourselves up for that website, it’s BarackObama.com. They’ve got so many websites out of the White House. But here’s the letter. See if it’s the same one. ‘As we head into the final stretch on health reform, big insurance company lobbyists and their partisan allies hope that their relentless attacks and millions of dollars can intimidate us into accepting the status quo. So I have a message for them, from all of us: Not this time. We have come too far. We will not turn back. We will not back down. But do not doubt — the opponents of reform will not rest. So I need you, the members of Organizing for America, to fight alongside me. We must continue to build out our campaign — to spread the facts on the air and on the ground, and to bring in more volunteers and train them to join the fight. I urgently need your help to keep Organizing for America’s 50-state movement for reform going strong. Please donate $5 or whatever you can afford today.’ Is that the letter that they’re all upset about over there?

CALLER: Yeah. You want to hear Kos’ response?

RUSH: Well, why not.

CALLER: Kos says, ‘Really?’ Oh, first of all he calls it idiocy, okay, then he says: ‘Really? All we have to do is send the DNC $5 and we get ponies? The same DNC that is enabling corporatist Democrats to water down and destroy any hope for health care reform? That DNC? This is so freakin’ obnoxious I can hardly stand it.’ Then he goes on at the end to say Democrats are demoralized and have little incentive to turn out next year.

RUSH: Okay. Look, now some of that is true. Let me tackle this. Democrat members of Congress are resigning. Blue Dogs are announcing their retirement; they’re not going to run for reelection. The Democrats know that they are going to get a shellacking next November. They also know that Obama doesn’t care about them. They know that to a T. And here’s Obama, the president of the United States, still acting as a community organizer, raising money for himself. What probably ticks off these people is, they’ve got the 60 votes. Why do you need five bucks from me? We elected you 60 Democrats. Why do you need to keep asking us for money? Now, where these guys like Kos are going off track is they should be happy. They’re going to get everything they want. Reid is just saying the public option’s gone because he has to say that, he’s four votes short, maybe five votes short.

I find it fascinating, this administration, the House leadership, the Senate leadership, has done the best job of destroying this country’s private sector that has ever been done and still these kooks aren’t happy. I don’t care, if they’re not happy and they drift away, let them form the third party then, let ’em form the Daily Kos party, and let them go out and do that. But, my gosh, if I were them I’d be happy. If my party was doing one-tenth for the country what the Democrat Party is doing to the country, I’d be ecstatic. The fact that these guys on the far-left fringe kook base are unhappy is a very sobering thing. Maybe they expected the private sector to be totally destroyed by now instead of next summer. If they think that the health care bill is being watered down, my gosh, this is like the Soviets changing from Andropov to Khrushchev or whoever and thinking there’s a big change coming. Whatever is happening with Reid and his health care, it’s not being watered down. It is an absolute unmitigated disaster.
