RUSH: Now, ladies and gentlemen, do you remember what a circus the Moussaoui trial was? Zacarias Moussaoui? We’ve seen all this before. Do you remember during the trial of Moussaoui, even supposed 9/11 families showed up to plead for Moussaoui, to plead for leniency, to plead for justice. That was a lot closer to the events of 9/11 and it was on a much smaller stage. That trial was in the Washington area. Now, this case is not going to go to trial for a couple years. Can you imagine the discovery process alone, the motions, the papers, I shudder to think what a circus this is going to be become. And I’m going to tell you, since 911, and in New York, you’ve gotta bunch of radical leftists who, after six years of ginned up hatred for George W. Bush, have as much hatred for this country as people who don’t live in New York, some people out on the Left Coast, and, believe me, there are enough people in this country who are going to applaud this country being on trial and some of them may even end up on the jury.

RUSH: And about this trial of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and his buddies, can you imagine the fun the New York Times is going to have with that? They got this guy there named Scott Shane, and he’s the guy who outed one of the interrogators, Deuce Martinez, a soft-spoken analyst who spoke no Arabic and had turned down a CIA offer to be trained in waterboarding. He chose to leave the infliction of pain and panic to others, the gung-ho paramilitary types whom the more cerebral interrogators call ‘the knuckle-draggers.’ This guy, Scott Shane, couldn’t wait to tell the world who tortured Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. So imagine the fun they’re going to have with this.

RUSH: David in Lincoln, Nebraska, welcome, sir, to the EIB Network. Great to have you here.

CALLER: Hey, Rush. Thanks for having me.

RUSH: Yes, sir.

CALLER: You’re doing a great American thing out there. We appreciate it.

RUSH: Thank you very much, sir. I appreciate that.

CALLER: You’re welcome, sir. Thank you. Real quick here, I’d like to just let people know: Daniel Pearl did not get a trial. He was beheaded just because of him being an American. These people have pled guilty, they are guilty, everybody knows they’re guilty. We need to deal with it differently. This is going to be just a major, major, major circus — and I want to be out there when it starts so I can sell popcorn, peanuts, cotton candy, hot dogs, whatever. I’ll make a killin’.

RUSH: Like I told you in the first hour of this program: ‘Before this is all said and done…’ Because you’re right: These guys have no defense. They’ve plead guilty. They admitted it. They wanted to be executed. They still do. And, therefore, the country is what’s going to be on trial and ‘our techniques and our procedures and our very intelligence system, programs,’ all of this. We’re going to be on trial. Before it’s all said and done, there are going to end up being a lot of Americans convinced that all this was our fault and that we have so mistreated these poor, impoverished people from the deserts of the Middle East. We have taken their oil, and we have allied ourselves with their blood enemy, the Israelis. We have bombed their countries! All of these things are going to be said. And at the end of the day, there will be weak-minded Americans will say, ‘You know what, Mr. Limbaugh? I totally understand now why these people wanted to blow up our World Trade Center. I totally understand! I can empathize with these people.’ That’s what’s going to be the objective here.

BREAK TRANSCIRPT

RUSH: Folks, I’m sorry. I can’t get off this decision to bring these terrorists to New York and conduct a trial. This is such an insidious plot. It is such a disaster. Do you realize Barack Obama is tougher on insurance companies than he is on the 9/11 mastermind? I want to know — Eric Holder — I’m still struck by things he said in his press conference. ‘We gotta find a jury of their peers.’ These guys are not citizens! Who the hell are we going to find that is a jury of their peers? Do you realize we’re standing 200 years of America history on its head? A jury of their peers! The only one I can think of is Chris Matthews, but we need 11 more. You know what I think we ought to do? I think Obama needs to appoint Cindy Sheehan to the federal bench and let her be the judge in the case. I mean if they’re going to make a mockery of this let’s go to all the way. Who else besides Matthews would be on the jury of a bunch of peers? Olbermann? I can’t get off of it. Jeremiah Wright, oh, except he doesn’t live in New York. Ayers, yeah.

But, look, as long as we’re throwing the rules out of here, we’re conferring constitutional rights on noncitizens, why the hell do the jurors have to come from New York? Let’s put Bill Ayers on the jury. Let’s put his wife, Bernardine Dohrn, on the jury. Let’s put Jeremiah Wright on the jury. Let’s go get Saul Alinsky’s son, I think he lives in Boston, put him on the jury. Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann. We’re talking about a jury of peers of these terrorists who hated this country so much they wanted to blow up the World Trade Center and did. And Cindy Sheehan as the judge? Oh. Put Harry Reid on the jury. ‘This war is lost.’ And get Senator Durbin. Senator Durbin sides with these guys. Get Sestak. Durbin says that our interrogators were nothing more than Pol Pot’s renegades and Nazis and the Soviet gulags and so forth. So, yeah, we got Dick Durbin, John Kerry, who served in Vietnam. Oh, look at the jury we could impanel here.

RUSH: All right, this is comical. This is comical. If it weren’t so insidious I would want to laugh at this. This afternoon PMSNBC live, the anchor Norah O’Donnell spoke with the Justice Department correspondent’s Pete Williams about Khalid Sheikh Mohammed being tried in New York City. Wait ’til you hear this. Norah O’Donnell said, ‘If they are acquitted, which is the concern of some people –‘ (laughing) if they are acquitted? They’re already factoring that possibility. Why would anybody think they might be acquitted? Because it’s exactly as I told you. They’re going to be able to find a jury and the government is going to end up being on trial here. These defendants have no defense. They have confessed. They want to be executed. So everybody is saying, ‘You know what? This thing could backfire. I mean these guys could be acquitted.’ So Pete Williams is asked, ‘If these guys are acquitted, the Justice Department is not going to let ’em go free, right?’ Holder has a back-up plan.

WILLIAMS: No. They’ve got a drawer full of other charges that they could bring against these defendants. There are already indictments pending against Khalid Sheikh Mohammed for other crimes, so they will just re-arrest them and charge them with something else.

RUSH: Well, if what they’re acquitted for that? I mean, if they’re acquitted for blowing up the World Trade Center, what other minor things, quote, unquote, did they do that they’re gonna be found guilty for? Double-parking? What are these indictments? This is important, by the way. There are indictments out there against Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. This is what makes this all a joke. So we’re to be comforted by the fact that Eric Holder has a back up plan in case they’re acquitted. You know what’s going to be interesting to see the odds. You know these websites out there you can bet and take odds on who’s going to win an election. There are going to be odds given on will these guys be acquitted, and it will fascinating to see what these odds are.
