RUSH: Ronald Reagan, famous statement, many famous statements. Ronald Reagan: ‘Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall.’ Barack Obama goes to the United Nations and his slogan may as well be about the United States: ‘Tear down this country.’ But we had a refreshing moment at the United Nations. A leader of his country speaking positively about his country, speaking the truth, and it wasn’t Obama. Obama, just a number of meaningless platitudes. Rich Lowry properly described Obama as a sophomore in a high school rah-rah speech. I mean that’s how vapid it was. But Bibi Netanyahu, the Arab bloc walked out. But he told the truth about his country, he told the truth about the United Nations hosting Ahmadinejad, a man who repeatedly says Israel has no right to exist, we ought to blow ’em off the map, says the Holocaust is a lie, Netanyahu brings the proof and asks, ‘Have you no shame?’ of the entire body. What has this place become? Truth is the biggest casualty. It no longer matters. And he’s right.

The United Nations is worthless; it exists only to fleece western democracies of their wealth. That’s its only purpose. Obama’s proud to go speak to them. They’re his buddies up there. He doesn’t like America much as it’s constituted and neither do his buddies at the United Nations. And he also wants to fleece the people of this country. So he has much in common with the people at the UN who do not like us. I wonder if Obama heard Netanyahu’s speech ’cause it was a real teaching experience on right and wrong, good and evil, leadership and sucking up. The irony is that those who were most moved by Obama, the ones swooning, were least moved by Netanyahu because the truth is the big thorn in their side. And those who were most embarrassed by Obama were the most inspired by Benjamin Netanyahu. Charles Hurt in the New York Post says that the world’s cowards were exposed. I’ll tell you, the reviews for Netanyahu’s speech properly over the top. ‘Have you no shame?’ he asked that body.

And then here’s this. This is from Iran’s Press TV. In Iran, they did a report about Ahmadinejad saying Obama agrees with him. ‘President Ahmadinejad says Iranians’ ‘Down with the US’ slogan is a result of the ‘ugly behavior’ of the United States governments. In an interview with the National Public Radio (NPR) on Thursday, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad noted that even the US President Barack Obama in his remarks has accepted the fact and has called for a change in the way Washington treats other nations. The Iranian president meanwhile noted that friendship is more sustainable than animosity and voiced Iran’s readiness for dialogue with the US, Fars News Agency reported.

Asked about the reason behind the ‘Down with the US’ slogan chanted in Iran, Ahmadinejad said ‘this is their (the Iranian nation’s) reaction to the ugly behavior of the US governments.” And he went on to say that Obama agrees with him. Obama agrees with me, he’s even said here at this body that the actions of the United States government have been deplorable.

Now, if I’m Barack Obama and I’ve got Mahmoud Ahmadinejad saying, hey, Obama agrees with me, I’m thinking I’ve got a problem. But I don’t think Obama’s bothered by it at all. At least I don’t see any evidence. Also, from the NPR website: ”Ahmadinejad: Holocaust ”Opinion Of Just A Few’ — Ahmadinejad praised Obama’s speech to the UN for marking a break with the policies of the Bush administration. The Iranian president said Obama echoed what the Iranian people and Ahmadinejad himself have been saying for many years.’ He says this on NPR. He’s not challenged. Here’s a quote from Ahmadinejad: ‘He said yesterday that previous US administrations acted unilaterally, that they intervened in the affairs of other countries, they wished to enforce their will on others, and we were saying the same thing,’ Ahmadinejad said of Obama. ‘He said the UN system is unfair and must change. I’m saying the same thing. And we will assist in making these things happen.’ We want to work with President Obama. That’s right, Mr. Ahmadinejad is telling the world that even the president of the United States agrees with the fact that Iranians are justified in chanting ‘down with the US,’ and who among us can deny that Ahmadinejad is right? Wasn’t that the point of Obama’s speech to the UN, to say ‘down with the United States’ as it has been?

RUSH: By the way, ‘President Obama and the leaders of France and Britain blasted Iran’s construction of a previously unacknowledged uranium enrichment facility and demanded Friday that Tehran immediately fulfill its obligations under international law or risk the imposition of harsh new sanctions.’ Ooh! Ooh! Obama getting tough on Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who is out there telling anybody who will listen that he and Obama agree with each other that the United States is bad and evil and needs to change. ”Iran is breaking rules that all nations must follow,’ Obama said, detailing how the facility near Qom had been under construction for years without being disclosed, as required, to the International Atomic Energy Agency. ‘International law is not an empty promise.” Big whoop! Little man talks tough. Barack Hussein Obama throwing down the gauntlet to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Do you remember, ladies and gentlemen, the National Intelligence Estimate? I think it was in 2007 that said President Bush did not know what he was talking about when he accused Iran of being part of an axis of evil that was pursuing nuclear weapons? The leftist kooks, the State-Controlled Media had a field day with that dangerous nonsense. GlobalSecurityNewsWire.org: ‘A 2007 National Intelligence Estimate, which asserted with ‘high confidence’ that Iran halted the program in late 2003 and concluded with ‘moderate confidence’ that the effort had not been resumed.’ Well, that was catnip for leftist appeasers with their heads in the sand, leftist appeasers like Senator Barack Obama. It was less than two years ago, ladies and gentlemen, less than two years ago Senator Barack Obama embraced the 2007 National Intelligence Estimate that said Bush was lying about Iran and nuclear weapons. This brilliant, brilliant young senator who had never accomplished one thing in his life, he had never run anything, a man with two memoirs he maybe didn’t even write himself. This great man, who was going to lower the seas and heal the planet, said this while running for his party’s nomination for president of a country he didn’t even like.

This is December 2007, Barack Obama. Quote, ‘By reporting that Iran halted its nuclear weapon development program four years ago because of international pressure, the new National Intelligence Estimate makes a compelling case for less saber rattling and more direct diplomacy. The juxtaposition of this National Intelligence Estimate with the president’s suggestion of World War III serves as an important reminder of what we learned with the 2002 National Intelligence Estimate on Iraq. Members of Congress must carefully read the intelligence before giving the president any justification to use military force.’ Two years ago, this doofus, who is now our president, cited and agreed with the National Intelligence Estimate that said there is no nuke program in Iran, that it had been shut down in 2003. Yesterday, Ahmadinejad said, oh, by the way, you guys, I’m having so much fun here in Washington, let me tell you what else we’re doing, we got a second reactor we’re working on. Obama says, (doing Obama impression) ‘Well, I’m going to get tough with you, I’m going to talk about sanctions, you’re breaking the law, and we don’t like that, and you better stop.’

Now, President Obama just said in his United Nations speech that all countries were created equal, but none are better than any other. And that no one nation can tell any other nation what it can or cannot do. One country cannot dominate another. Our president said this. We mustn’t meddle in the affairs of other nations and all that crap. This same elitist professorial garbage was his justification for defending Saddam Hussein’s right to remain a thug dictator. (doing Obama impression) ‘We can’t impose our values.’ The world didn’t need America’s leadership and doesn’t need America’s leadership. That’s what our president said just three days ago at the United Nations. It’s what he said about the Iraq war, world didn’t need our leadership. We had no business being in Iraq. The surge wasn’t working when it was working. Like the network said my diet wasn’t working when it was. It was an immoral war of choice, he said, America be damned for being an arrogant bully, said our president. And just two years ago, Obama said that Iran was our misunderstood pal, buddy. We could trust Iran, he said. We should have direct talks with Iran without preconditions.

Do you remember all of this? America was a bunch of bigoted Muslim haters. And he was going to change all that by reaching out to our misunderstood friends like Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Well, Barack Obama was wrong about Iran in 2007, and now he’s in charge, and he is bumbling and fumbling and has no clue what’s going on. He sees Iran through one prism, ‘Oh, my God, is this going to impact my health care bill? Oh, God, what am I going to do about Iran? I gotta get ’em to shut up, I got my health care bill.’ He was wrong about Iraq. He said the surge wasn’t working when it was. He said it wouldn’t work when it did. He said he wouldn’t do it again after it succeeded. He’s about to be wrong about Afghanistan. He was wrong about unemployment. He’s wrong about socialized medicine. He’s wrong about global warming. He’s wrong about America.

Folks, he went to the UN and said, tear down this country. Reagan said: Tear down that wall, Mr. Gorbachev. Our own president went to the UN: Tear down this country. He did it in such a way that the president of Iran, the lunatic, insane little insect, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, is now citing Obama’s own words and saying, (imitating Mahmoud) ‘America agrees with me. The US has been evil, has been bad.’ And then of course we got that 96-minute laugh-athon with Khadafy. The only thing that makes it not funny is that this guy is a big terrorist. Other than that he’s a Looney Tune. Did you hear that the first translator actually broke down and had a seizure during Khadafy’s speech? They had to get a second translator in there. It’s true. The first translator had an attack of some kind. That’s why there was no translation for a couple minutes. You know, I was watching and the closed-captioning stopped. I was in my LA studio and the closed-captioning stopped, I said, ‘What’s going on there?’ And I thought maybe this is so over the top that they’re not translating it. Maybe they don’t want anybody to know outside of the native tongue he was speaking what he’s saying. But it turned out the translator just keeled over. They had to rush a second translator in there. (laughing)

The Star Wars cantina, and it got even worse with Ahmadinejad going in there that night, and here’s Obama leading the pack. Folks, I’m not making this up. Two years ago, National Intelligence Estimate, Iran has no nukes. Obama right in there, yeah, yeah, we’ve been lied to about it, we’ve even been lied to about Iraq. Now Ahmadinejad said, hey, guess what world? We got a second reactor. We didn’t disclose that. And Obama gonna get real tough. Barack Obama is wrong about the country, he’s wrong about global warming — he’s wrong about everything, folks. He’s a dangerous kook who beguiled his way into the Oval Office. He prefers the company of people like Jeremiah Wright and Bill Ayers and any other leftist kook who hates the country from Van Jones to Mark Lloyd at the FCC to who the hell else knows who is in the White House in close proximity. I would say Obama is worse than a broken clock. A broken clock is right at least twice a day. Obama isn’t. A broken clock is more accurate than Barack Obama. Obama is not right two times a day much less two times in his five-minute career.

No wonder he wants to indoctrinate our children. Being brainwashed or mentally deranged is the only way anyone could possibly think Obama is good for this country. That, my friends, is the Media Tweak of the Day, so let me repeat this. Being brainwashed or mentally deranged is the only way anybody could possibly think Barack Obama is good for the United States of America. That’s the Media Tweak of the Day, and as such I’m going to say it another time to make sure they get it. Being brainwashed or mentally deranged is the only way anyone could possibly think Barack Obama is good for the United States of America. Think they got it? Yeah, I think they did, too.

RUSH: There was this week a voice of sanity at the United Nations, Benjamin Netanyahu.

NETANYAHU: To those who refuse to come and to those who left in protest, I commend you. You stood up for moral clarity, and you brought honor to your countries. But to those who gave this Holocaust denier a hearing, I say on behalf of my people, the Jewish people, and decent people everywhere, have you no shame?

RUSH: Greatest question to be asked of the United Nations in years. Here’s another bite.

NETANYAHU: A mere six decades after the Holocaust you give legitimacy to a man who denies the murder of six million Jews while promising to wipe out the state of Israel, the state of the Jews? What a disgrace. What a mockery of the charter of the United Nations. Now, perhaps, perhaps some of you think that this man and his odious regime, perhaps they threaten only the Jews. Well, if you think that, you’re wrong. Dead wrong.

RUSH: Dead wrong. So a moment of sanity at the United Nations. By the way, Obama may not have to do much to get his poll numbers up. A new Bin Laden tape has surfaced. I don’t know if it is rambling, if it’s going to make any sense, but if it frightens the American people it might help Obama get his approval numbers up. I doubt it. I think the Democrats have done a good job of making sure nobody takes Osama Bin Laden seriously anymore. So I don’t think an Osama tape can help him out. Let’s go back, by the way, George W. Bush, September 12th of 2002 at the United Nations, very brief here, six seconds.

BUSH: Will the United Nations serve the purpose of its founding or will it be irrelevant?

RUSH: Well, it’s not irrelevant because they are succeeding in fleecing the profitable and wealthy countries of the world with the global warming hoax and so forth. You know what? Maybe Obama could go on MSNBC all day as his next stunt to get the numbers up. I’m not saying not host Letterman, go ahead and host Letterman and have Ahmadinejad and Hugo Chavez as guests, and do it by satellite if you can’t get them in the studio, and then spend all day on MSNBC. Well, that wouldn’t work, he’s already on MSNBC all day, every day, and favorably so.
