RUSH: J.D. in Bristol, Tennessee, you’re up first, sir. Nice to have you with us.
CALLER: Mr. Limbaugh thanks for taking my call.
RUSH: Yes, sir.
CALLER: I remember one time many years ago you said you liked to sit at the end of airports and watch jets take off. I’m like that, too, but I was just curious you said you went to Hawaii and you got G whatever number you got now. I was just wondering how long did it take to get from where you live all the way over there in a jet like you’ve got?
RUSH: Well —
CALLER: I know… Go ahead.
RUSH: It’s a G550, and there are pictures of it at RushLimbaugh.com in the Limbaugh Broadcast Museum. We have pictures of the interior. We got exterior shots of it. You can see it at RushLimbaugh.com. It took me nine hours on the button. We got a great circle route from West Palm Beach. We want to Kailua-Kona, ’cause I went to the big island. It took nine hours on the button, and we didn’t have a whole lot of head winds. We flew at 43,000 feet the whole way because that’s where the winds were the best. Coming back it took eight and a half because the jet stream was way far north.
CALLER: Ah.
RUSH: We didn’t get any tailwind. The biggest tailwind we had coming back from 25 miles per hour. Normally it’s 55 to 150 with the jet stream but it was far north. So we shaved a half hour coming back. It was nine hours on the button going over. I left here at 3:30 in the afternoon on Friday, and I got over there at 6:30. They’re six hours behind us.
CALLER: Well, I appreciate you answering my question.
RUSH: And you want to know what else?
CALLER: I’ve always been curious about this.
RUSH: Do you want to know what else?
CALLER: What?
RUSH: I’ll tell you what else. I have wireless Internet on EIB One.
CALLER: (laughs) I remember. Yeah, I heard you say something like that.
RUSH: It’s called broadband multi-link. I actually got… Pshew! I had it all the way over to Hawaii. It used to just be continental United States. I had it all the way to Hawaii, so I was working the whole way. How do you think I knew about the Goldman Sachs business?
CALLER: In the middle of the Pacific Ocean between the coast of California to Hawaii, you’ve got that?
RUSH: Yeah.
CALLER: That’s unreal.
RUSH: Yeah. Recently activated. It’s just the first time. The first trip I’ve taken that it was active beyond the continental United States. And same thing coming back yesterday.
CALLER: I appreciate the information, Rush. I love listening to you, and thanks for taking my call.
RUSH: I appreciate it.
CALLER: I’ve been listening to you since the late ’80s.
RUSH: Thank you, J.D.. You can’t have listened much longer than that because that’s when we started. That’s devotion. I appreciate it.
CALLER: A little town in Norton, Virginia, carried you at that time. I don’t remember if you remember that.
RUSH: A little town in Norton? I remember every market that carried or carries this program. It’s my business. They’re all special. Every darn one of them is special.
CALLER: Yep. I don’t know if it’s carrying you anymore but I’ve listened to you whenever I can., I’m up in the mountains in the middle of almost nowhere, now.
RUSH: It’s safe to assume that they’re carrying us. If they were carrying us, they still are. There’s no reason for anybody to cancel us.
CALLER: Yeah.
RUSH: It never happens. Never happens. We’ve only grown. I’m sure they’re still with us. The staff and management of the station may not totally agree with everything I say, but give it five more years and we’ll have ’em wrapped up. J.D., thanks. I appreciate it very much.
