CALLER: Yeah, I’m here. Actually, that’s my mom.
RUSH: Oh.
CALLER: I’m Allison.
RUSH: Oh, you’re Allison. You’re on hold for your mom?
CALLER: Yes.
RUSH: I see. How old are you, Allison?
CALLER: I’m nine.
RUSH: Nine years old. Well, it’s a delight to have you here with us today.
CALLER: Thank you. It’s a delight to talk to you today.
RUSH: I appreciate that. What’s up?
CALLER: Nothing much. I just — at my school I did a biography on you, and I just have a few questions to ask you. Is that okay?
RUSH: Yeah, wait a minute. You have done the biography or you’re going to do the biography?
CALLER: I have done the biography.
RUSH: Oh, why do you need more questions?
CALLER: What?
RUSH: Why do you have more questions if you have done the biography?
CALLER: Well, I just want to know if they were true.
RUSH: Well, this could be interesting. All right, we’ll try one question and see how it goes. I’ve got about 45 seconds here, Allison.
CALLER: Okay. I was wondering whenever you were a teenager, did you use the name Rusty Sharpie?
RUSH: Yes. Rusty Sharpe. I didn’t pronounce the E on the end.
CALLER: Oh, okay.
RUSH: Yeah, I wanted an adjective as a last name. Yes, I did.
CALLER: Okay.
RUSH: Okay, time for one more question.
CALLER: And I have one more. Did you drop out of college after two semesters and one summer?
RUSH: (laughing) Two semesters. I learned my lesson. I think they might have made me go to summer for a couple classes and yes, dropped out, I quit. It wasn’t for me, Allison.
CALLER: Okay, well, that’s okay. I still love you. You’re the best!
RUSH: Thank you, Allison. I love kids… sometimes.
