The Reverend Wright Returns

by Rush Limbaugh - Nov 7,2008

RUSH: The Reverend Jeremiah Wright is back. Last night in Milford, Connecticut, at the Kingdom Life Christian Church.

WRIGHT: My youngest child came home from school, and said to me, ‘Are you and Barack cool?’ I said, ‘Of course we are. Why do you ask that? I just heard some kids talking at school.’ I said, ‘No, that’s a media thing.’ Ninety percent of the people sitting in church do not agree with everything their pastors say. What I say or don’t say, it is not an index in terms of what Senator Obama believed or believes. The media did not want that sermon heard.

RUSH: (mumbling) Doobee doobee doo.

WRIGHT: Their intention was to use me as a weapon of mass destruction to destroy that man’s candidacy. Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan, Barack Obama, their successes individually should not lull us to sleep to think that now it’s all over, everything is solved. This was some serious structural problems that keep people locked into poverty.

RUSH: Okay, so the Reverend Wright says that he and Barack are cool, that Obama’s election does not change the structural racism of America. Let’s go listen to some of the real Reverend Wright, just because Obama won doesn’t mean we will forget.

WRIGHT (screaming): Barack knoooows what it means to be a black man living in a country and a culture that is controlled by rich white people! [snip] Hillary ain’t never been called a nigger! [snip] Bill did us just like he did Monica Lewinsky!

CONGREGATION: (cheers)

WRIGHT: He was riding dirty. [snip] In white America, US of KKKA: black men turning on black men. [snip] I am sick of Negroes who just do not get it. [snip] Not God bless America, God (bleep) America! It’s in the Bible. For killing innocent people, God (bleep) America! [snip] (screaming) And now we are indignant because of stuff we have done overseas is now brought right back into our own front yards!

CONGREGATION: (cheers)

WRIGHT: America’s chickensssss are coming home to roost.

RUSH: Okay, so Barack got elected, but we will not forget. Cliff May today, Scripps Howard. He is, by the way, a good conservative. He’s now president of the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies, it’s a policy institute focused on terrorism. ‘Give Obama his due,’ Cliff May writes. ‘It is an exceptional politician who can win the support of Louis Farrakhan, leader of the Nation of Islam, and Kenneth Duberstein, former chief of staff to President Reagan; of William Ayers, an unrepentant terrorist and Christopher Buckley, son of William F. Buckley, founder of modern conservatism; of Rashid Khalidi, an Israel-hater, and Edgar Bronfman, former head of the World Jewish Congress.’ That’s an amazing coalition Obama has put together; you gotta give him his due. ‘Here’s a not-very-bold prediction: A year from now, someone is going to be sorely disappointed,’ ’cause that kind of coalition does not hang together for long.
