On Monday, Ali Hamza al Bahlul proudly admitted that he volunteered to be the 20th hijacker on 9/11, but Osama bin Laden assigned him to head Al-Qaeda’s propaganda machine. AP-Obama dubbed the 39-year-old terrorist “Osama bin Laden’s media specialist.” Al Bahlul said that the US has only itself to blame for 9/11. Echoing Reverend Wright’s infamous sermon– “America’s chickens are coming home to roost”– al Bahlul declared: “Whoever said this happened out of nowhere is an idiot…you have started the war against us.” He warned: “We will fight any government that governs America.” Yesterday, as Americans voted, a military jury at Club Gitmo sentenced al Bahlul to life in prison.
Also yesterday, AP-Obama ran a story that opened: “The world was riveted by the election drama unfolding Tuesday in the United States, inspired by the hope embodied by Barack Obama, or simply relieved that… the Administration that spawned Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo Bay was coming to an end. From Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate to the small town of Obama, Japan, the globe geared up to celebrate a fresh start for America after eight wearisome years of George W. Bush.”
It may be generations before the left’s hatred of George Bush– which our own “media specialists” spread to every corner of the world– gives way to rightful appreciation for the effective war he waged on terrorism.
Perhaps then America will be thanked– not condemned– for imprisoning evildoers at Gitmo…which made the entireworld safer.
