RUSH: Yesterday in Columbus, Indiana, at a Hillary Clinton campaign event, former President Bill Clinton spoke. Here is a portion of what he said.
CLINTON: I remember we were young, right out of law school, she went down and tried to join the Army, and they said, ‘Your eyes are so bad, nobody will take you.’
HILLARY: Gee, now, it was probably 19 years ago, 1975. I decided that I was very interested in having some experience and serving in some capacity in the military. And I think it was just my bad luck, that the person who happened to be there on duty could not have been older than 21, was in perfect physical shape. So I sat down and I said, you know, I wanted to explore, I didn’t know whether I thought active duty would be a good idea, reserve, you know, maybe National Guard, something along those lines. I was already a lawyer. I thought there were some roles I could perform, and I was going on and on, you know, trying to justify my existence.
RUSH: This is Hillary speaking to a women’s veterans group as first lady in 1994. Then she continued.
HILLARY: This young man looked at me and said, ‘How old are you?’ I said, ‘Well, 27.’ He looked at me, and in those days that was before I learned how to wear contact lenses, I had these really thick glasses on. I said, ‘This is embarrassing.’ He said, ‘How bad?’ So I told him. He said, ‘That’s pretty bad.’ And he finally said to me, he said, ‘You’re too old, you can’t see, and you’re a woman.’ And then he went on, and since this is the birthday of the Army, I will tell what the rest that he said was, this man — young man he was a Marine. He said, ‘But maybe the dogs would take you.’ I said, ‘This is not a very encouraging conversation, so maybe I’ll look for another way to serve my country.’
RUSH: And I decided to hitch my wagon to this hayseed from Arkansas, go down and try to take over the state and then follow him wherever he was going, and when he got there take over from him. (laughing) I don’t think there’s a word of this that’s true. I frankly, given everything, I mean she’s lying about Bosnia, the Clintons, it’s pathological, both of them. Whatever they say, they believe it to be true. Whether it’s true or not. Let’s see. No, we don’t know what she applied for. Snipper Corps, don’t know if she wanted to be a snipper. She didn’t know what she wanted to be.
