RUSH: Ladies and gentlemen, particularly those of you in Ohio, the Columbus Dispatch posted at 2:59 a.m. today the following story. Headline reads: ”Limbaugh Safe from Voter Fraud Charges; Radio Host Encouraged Fans to Vote Democrat’ — Radio talk show [titan] Rush –‘ well, they didn’t say ‘titan,’ they put ‘host.’ I added ‘titan.’ ‘Radio talk-show host Rush Limbaugh has been telling his audience for days now that he could be indicted for encouraging Ohio Republicans to take a Democratic ballot in the March 4 primary in what he calls ‘Operation Chaos.’ Could that actually happen? Not likely, Ohio officials say. Leo Jennings, [a former union thug] and spokesman for Democratic Attorney General Marc Dann, said, ‘We have no intention of prosecuting Rush Limbaugh because lying through your teeth and being stupid isn’t a crime.” Mr. Jennings, if lying and being stupid were crimes, you would be serving a life sentence, as we speak.

‘When asked whether she has concerns about what Limbaugh did, Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner, a Democrat, replied, ‘I think it’s very bad form, but I think most voters are intelligent enough to make their own decisions.’ Limbaugh’s ‘Operation Chaos’ in Ohio, Pennsylvania and other states holding presidential primaries is designed to help presumptive Republican nominee John McCain win the Nov. 4 election. The idea –‘ let’s see if the Drive-Bys get this right. ‘The idea is to encourage Republicans in those states to vote for Hillary Clinton as a way to prolong the Democratic fight for the nomination with Barack Obama, possibly making it more difficult for Democrats to unite in the fall.’ By the way, folks, I must tell you that as commander of Operation Chaos, I am considering issuing new orders for Pennsylvania on April 22nd. I haven’t made up my mind. But depending on how things shape out between now and then, it might be even more fun, since Obama’s trailing by double digits, to get him a little closer in this primary. But then that could maybe take away from Mrs. Clinton’s momentum. So I have not determined yet what the orders will be for the Pennsylvania primary, but I just wanted you to know that your commanding officer is thinking about it.

Back to the Columbus Dispatch now. ‘Some critics have complained that Limbaugh is improperly encouraging voters to break the law. In Ohio, party-switchers are supposed to sign a form attesting, under penalty of election falsification — a felony — that they support the principles of the party –‘ that would not stand up in court. A loyalty oath, maybe, in Saddam Hussein’s Iraq, maybe in Raul Castro’s Cuba, maybe in Hugo Chavez’s Venezuela, maybe in Hu Jintao’s China. But not here. I must admit to being somewhat saddened by this news, folks. I actually was having dreams about being led out of my broadcast complex here in handcuffs. But, alas, it just doesn’t look like it’s going to happen. ‘But Jennings said it would be difficult to prosecute anyone because they also have constitutionally protected freedom of speech and it’s hard to prove voter intent. ‘You can’t just make the assumption that someone is lying,’ Jennings said.’ Oh, is that a great one. Yes, we can. If their name is the Clintons, we can. (laughing) All right, so it looks like no charges of voter fraud in Ohio will be brought against either you or me.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Last night, Fox News Channel, John Kasich filled in for Bill O’Reilly and said this about Operation Chaos.

KASICH: Obama was doing robocalls into Republican households asking them to cross over and vote. What we gotta do, investigate Obama for election law violations? Is Rush Limbaugh the greatest tweaker in the history of radio? I mean, he tweaks everybody. Looks like he may have tweaked the liberals again. They’ve actually opened an investigation in Cuyahoga County on this!

RUSH: They did, but it has been — Well, it’s not definite, but it looks like it isn’t going to happen.
