RUSH: This is Bill on the phone from Amman, Jordan. We’re probably going to have some delay here, right, on a satellite? No delay? Bill, welcome to the program, sir.
CALLER: Hi, Rush. Mega dittos from the other side of the world.
RUSH: Thank you. What time is it there?
CALLER: It is about quarter to nine at night.
RUSH: That’s exactly right. It’s a quarter to ten in Dubai, maybe a quarter of 11.
CALLER: That’s right. Yeah, that’s right. Can you still hear me okay?
RUSH: Yeah. Oh, I hear you fine. I was just waiting for you to continue.
CALLER: Okay, I’m sorry. My question, or, slash, comment was: Have you considered who Hillary’s running mate might be? And I think I have the answer.
RUSH: Who?
RUSH: The more interesting question to me is: Would Hillary accept the vice presidential nod from one of the other candidates, say from John Edwards or from Barack Obama?
CALLER: I think if she’s smart — and I hope she’s not, but I think if she is — she will find a way to overcome her lack of support within the military ranks by choosing somebody like General Clark.
RUSH: Interesting thought. General Clark has, unfortunately, gone off the deep end. General Clark is not all that rational these days. Maybe he can get some back. In all candor — and this is the conventional wisdom, so it’s probably wrong — but the real Hillary Clinton front-runner for the veep is Evan Bayh out of Indiana. That’s who people think that it’s going to be. It’s not going to be any of these chumps that are on the stage, because once she wipes you out as a chump, she’s not going to revive you and make you a competitor for her office. Bill, what do you do? Before I go, real quickly, what do you do in Amman, Jordan?
CALLER: Rush, I was afraid you were going to ask that.
RUSH: Oh, that’s even better! You can’t tell me. That’s even more exciting, right? You can’t tell me?
CALLER: That’s true. I’m sorry.
RUSH: That’s okay. So the liberals in the audience, Bill, have concluded you work for Blackwater.
CALLER: (laughter)
RUSH: Yes.
CALLER: Well, not so. (laughter)
RUSH: (laughter)
CALLER: No, not so, but I do have a long military history. My wife was former military. I’m former military. I have a daughter serving in Baghdad, and I have a son in the Marine Corps following, and I go there in the spring.
RUSH: Wow. Well, God bless you and your family, and thank you for the phone call.
CALLER: Thank you, Rush, and God bless you.
RUSH: You bet.
