Farm Bill Is Robin Hood In Reverse

There is an informative acrticle in the Washington Times about who is benefitting from this farm bill and, folks, you must think seriously about this. Considering that the largest 10% of the farms get 75% of the subsidies, and that families on farms today account for just 2% of the U.S. population, the figures hardly support the president’s noble words that this will promote farmer independence and preserve the farm way of life for generations. The Democrats ought to oppose this because they oppose tax cuts on the very same basis.
The Democrats say tax cuts aren’t fair – they’re only for the rich. They say something like 10% of the people are going to get 75% of the tax breaks, and those 75% make up just 2% of the population. You see where we’re going with this? The Democrats should be railing against this farm bill!
