RUSH: I found the data on the spoiler alert for the Liam Neeson movie at a website called Chicks on the Right<\/a>. Folks, our show prep knows how bounds. This post is by Daisy. That\u2019s her name. Chicks on the Right. She says, “I Found Out The Ending Of Liam Neeson\u2019s New Movie, So I\u2019m Not Going To See It. FYI.” She writes, “Normally, I\u2019d go see a Liam Neeson movie if it came out.<\/p>\n

“In fact, I\u2019ve seen the trailer for Neeson\u2019s new movie, ‘Non-Stop,\u2019 and I thought, ‘that looks good … I\u2019m thinking it\u2019s one I\u2019m going to put on the list to see!\u2019 (I\u2019m a big thriller and action-movie kind of gal. If you ask me what my favorite Christmas movie is, I\u2019ll usually say Diehard.) But when I read this,” and she has a link to a story on the details, “I thought to myself, ‘Self … Hollywood needs a nice kick right square in the [groin].\u2019<\/p>\n

“Now, the source link is all warn-y and ‘SPOILER ALERT!\u2019 and it uses ALL CAPS TO TELL YOU that it\u2019s literally telling you the end of Liam Neeson\u2019s new movie. But I personally don\u2019t give a rat\u2019s behind that I\u2019m doing that,” spoiling this. Here\u2019s the set-up: ‘Neeson plays a “burned-out, alcoholic flight marshal hoping for a nice easy flight in first class, where after sneaking a smoke and drink, he might be able to catch a little [sleep]. <\/p>\n

“‘A text message informing him that one person on the flight will die every twenty-minutes unless $150 million is wired to an account, ruins that plan. Counting pilots and crew, there are around 150 [people] on board. [The character, the air marshal] has 20 minutes to figure out which one is the bad guy. Red herrings abound. Is it one of the many actors whose faces we recognize but names we can\u2019t remember? People start to die. [Liam Neeson] is fingered as the hijacker.'”<\/p>\n

I think it\u2019s his character. She\u2019s throwing names in here that I don\u2019t know. Anyway, here\u2019s the spoiler. I\u2019m not going to bother translating her here. The spoiler is this about the villain in this movie. You\u2019ve got a planeload of people, 150 people. There\u2019s a bad guy threatening to blow the whole thing out of the sky unless $150 million is wired to his account. The villain is not a hijacker. <\/p>\n

“‘[T]he villain is not a hijacker but a terrorist — someone who wants to murder everyone on the plane to further a political goal. The terrorist is [wait for it] a 9\/11 family member.” In the Liam Neeson movie, “‘the terrorist is a 9\/11 family-member who lost a loved-one in the World Trade Center… It gets worse: After 9\/11, this 9\/11 family member-turned-terrorist then joined the military but found himself disillusioned by the pointless wars.”<\/p>\n

So you have a 9\/11 family member so hurt and so angry and wanting to seek revenge on the perpetrators that he joins the military — and ends up hating the military, too, because the wars were pointless. “‘The 9\/11 family member-turned-terrorist is upset because America hasn\u2019t done enough to ensure there will never be another 9\/11. And so he figures that if he can get an air marshal blamed for a terrorist attack, America will wake up,'” and do what\u2019s right before it happens again.<\/p>\n
