RUSH: This is Michelle in Charleston, South Carolina. You\u2019re next. Great to have you on the program. Hello.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hi, Rush!<\/p>\n

RUSH: Hey.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I am so excited to talk to you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I am a Rush Baby, and I\u2019m raising six Rush Babies.<\/p>\n

<\/a>RUSH: Six?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, six Rush Babies. And we got your first book<\/a> for my oldest son, Josiah, he\u2019s 11. He loves history, so he read right through that first book and then began to read it for his younger brothers and sisters. And his younger sister, Michaela, who\u2019s 8, got so excited that she didn\u2019t want to wait for him to read it to everybody every night, so she grabbed it and she finished it on her own.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You know, let me tell you something. Your son, Josiah, is that what his name is?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, Josiah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: He\u2019s gotta be really good. You know, reading for other people and have it be interesting, that is not easy to do.<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, but he is pretty creative and he does do a pretty good job. I\u2019m sure not as good as you —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, no, but, if he\u2019s got his sister wanting to pick it up and read it, that\u2019s good. You can\u2019t do any better than that.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Absolutely. And then when Michaela got done, my 10-year-old son, Jonathan, who is much more of a math and science guy and doesn\u2019t really care for history, he\u2019s decided that he was gonna pick it up and finish it on his own, too. So he finished it, and then Josiah just finished reading it out loud to his younger brother and sister. He\u2019s got a kindergartener brother, who can\u2019t really read yet, who is now asking me, “When am I gonna be able to read well enough to read Rush\u2019s book<\/a> myself?” (laughing).<\/p>\n

RUSH: You may be looking at an advanced reading student here.<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: He might want to learn to read it so badly he\u2019ll just get going on it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s right. Well, now I\u2019ve got every day, my three oldest children, when 12:05 comes around, saying, “Mom, make sure we put on Rush.” They\u2019re very excited to put on the radio. They\u2019re engaged in your show. Last week we were talking about the Ukraine, because we\u2019re talking about it after listening to your show, and all these world events and current events, and they are just really engaging more in what\u2019s going on and they\u2019re fascinated by everything that\u2019s going on now, listening to your show.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s incredible. That is overwhelming. I\u2019m near speechless here.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, we appreciate you writing the books. We actually are now, the three oldest ones, have started reading your second book. I think they\u2019re all right at the beginning, they\u2019re reading it —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Look at this, folks, is this not incredible? We\u2019ve got young children now learning to read just so they can read the Rush Revere books<\/a>!<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: This is music to our ears. Look, Michelle, hang on. We\u2019ll send some stuff out for your kids, audio versions and stuff, \u2019cause that\u2019s a whole new experience.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And we\u2019ll do that, and hang on, Mr. Snerdley will get your name and address.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Thank you so much.<\/p>\n

RUSH: We\u2019ll get that stuff out as quickly as we can. See, folks, this is the thing. Not just talking books here. There is a mission behind this, and that is to counter what really is being taught in schools today, particularly to young people. It\u2019s not the truth about American history. There is an absolute mission behind it, and I can\u2019t tell you how gratifying it is to get phone calls like this.<\/p>\n

Because this is evidence that the mission is being accomplished, that it is decent mission, that it was worthwhile, and that it\u2019s paying off. I\u2019m just ecstatic. To have this kind of connection being made with young people like this is just wonderful, just great. It\u2019s not every school, but you know there are a lot of schools that are just mangling American history, the multicultural curriculum. There\u2019s a bunch of people who don\u2019t want the truth of the founding of this country known. <\/p>\n

And there\u2019s every reason in the world for it to be known, every reason in the world, especially for kids, to be proud of where they were born, and to be able to understand why they should be proud, and understand how special in the entire human race this country is. Because that is just gonna expand their appreciation of it, which is the objective. So I appreciate all this. I really do. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
