CALLER: Thank you, Rush, and mega dittos. Boy, I\u2019ve been a longtime listener. This is like a thrill for me. You wouldn\u2019t believe it.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I appreciate that very much. Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: You know something, Rush, I\u2019m kind of paying attention to Obama and Putin and these sanction<\/a> wars that they\u2019re having. You know, Obama calls on his friends, the European countries to wag their fingers and call Putin names. They want sanctions on Putin to ruin his economy, to inflict harm on his people. But what happens if Putin would call on his friends, the Chinese, the ChiComs, to call in like the American debt, the money that —<\/p>\n

RUSH: The thing you gotta worry about with Putin is polonium-210.<\/p>\n

CALLER: But, you know, who would out-sanction who when it comes down to these wars? If Putin —<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: Seriously, didn\u2019t the Russians announce some reverse sanctions on Kerry and Biden or whoever? I mean, they\u2019re doing it. I think Putin\u2019s doing it to play the joke. It\u2019s a silly game. They\u2019re sitting over there laughing themselves silly. He what? He sanctioned me? Well, okay, I\u2019m gonna sanction their idiot vice president, then.<\/p>\n

CALLER: But what I\u2019m saying is, if Putin would talk to the ChiComs, their friends, his friends, Putin\u2019s friends, into calling in the American debt, the money that America owes —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well —<\/p>\n

CALLER: — the Chinese.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I think it would be a mistake to assume that the Russians and the ChiComs are tight allies, A. But more importantly, the ChiComs, their own debt\u2019s at stake if they do something like that. I mean, the ChiComs have a vested interest in our economy remaining strong, because everything we buy is made there. A lot of what we buy is manufactured by the ChiComs. I understand what you\u2019re saying, what if Putin got really serious about this, could he call on his allies to really wreak some havoc on us. Theoretically, yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: But couldn\u2019t he like call in the debt? Like demand that they pay something, try to hurt the American economy by calling in a certain amount of money to keep the Americans on their toes?<\/p>\n

RUSH: I don\u2019t think it works that way. On paper, sure, could do it, might be interesting but I don\u2019t think that\u2019s the way at these levels that such retribution would occur.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Look, one thing the ChiComs could do, I didn\u2019t mean to pooh-pooh the caller. I just don\u2019t think that\u2019s gonna happen. But one thing the ChiComs could do is stop using the dollar as the world currency. They have threatened to do that. Putin is threatening to do that now. And I\u2019ll tell you something else, folks, there is something that Obama and the European Union could do. It\u2019s a very easy way to punish Putin in a way that would really matter. They could kick him out of the IMF and the G8, which would mean it would cost Russia more to do business with the rest of the world. They could do that.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s not gonna do that. The fact that he\u2019s sanctioning all these individuals, they don\u2019t care, folks. They think they have to make it look like they care, \u2019cause they know you. He doesn\u2019t care. Reducing America\u2019s standing in the world was the objective. It\u2019s the original Limbaugh Theorem. If Obama wants this nation taught a lesson, this nation\u2019s gotta be brought down to size. It\u2019s not just gonna happen domestically, economically. It\u2019s gonna happen internationally as well. <\/p>\n

Remember, Obama, he doesn\u2019t believe in American exceptionalism, and he doesn\u2019t believe in any of the things about the United States being policeman of the world or being the outpost of liberty or freedom in the world. He\u2019s never, never believed that. He doesn\u2019t think we\u2019ve ever been a legitimate superpower. He\u2019s been of the belief that that\u2019s been illegitimate and not warranted. We got some sound bites to back this up here in just a second.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Grab audio sound bite number 10. Here\u2019s Putin. This is this morning in Moscow. Putin\u2019s addressing a joint session of parliament about Russia, Ukraine situation, international opposition to the Crimea vote, and this is just a portion of what he said.<\/p>\n

PUTIN TRANSLATOR: Our main partners and United States in their practical policy prefer not to use international law, but the law of the strong in what they\u2019re doing. They believe in their uniqueness; that they can rule the world; that they could always be right. They act whatever they want and they could use force against sovereign states.<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: Were you able to hear that? If I didn\u2019t have a transcript, I wouldn\u2019t know. I couldn\u2019t separate the two, were you able to? Were you able to hear it? Okay, if you were, the audience was. But I\u2019m gonna just read it to you clean because that was Putin huffing and puffing back there with a translator. The translator said this what Putin said. “Our main partners and United States in their practical policy prefer not to use international law, but the law of the strong in what they\u2019re doing. They believe in their uniqueness; that they can rule the world; that they could always be right. They act whatever they want and they could use force against sovereign states.”<\/p>\n

So Putin is basically attacking American exceptionalism. He\u2019s attacking the notion the US is the outpost and the beacon for freedom. He\u2019s basically saying, “Screw you! You\u2019re not the hottest people around. You\u2019re not the best people around. You don\u2019t get to run the world. You don\u2019t get to tell everybody else how to do things. You don\u2019t get to stand up for freedom. It\u2019s none of your business what I\u2019m doing, and screw you.” <\/p>\n

Now, back on April 4th of 2009 in France, Obama essentially said that he understood. A correspondent from the Financial Times, guy\u2019s name was Ed Luce: “Mr. President, can I ask whether you subscribe to the school of American exceptionalism that sees America as uniquely qualified to lead the world. Or do you have a slightly different philosophy, and if so, would you be able to elaborate on it?”<\/p>\n

OBAMA: I believe in American exceptionalism just as I suspect that the Brits believe in British exceptionalism and the Greeks believe in Greek exceptionalism.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Except they don\u2019t. But regardless, that answer is proof positive that Obama doesn\u2019t buy this notion that we are anything unique, that we\u2019re not special. We\u2019re not the lone outpost of freedom. We\u2019re nobody\u2019s beacon. We\u2019re no different than anybody else. Yeah, we believe in American exceptionalism, but that means about as much to us as British exceptionalism means. First president we\u2019ve ever had that would openly say that. He doesn\u2019t really care what Putin\u2019s doing, but he damn well knows he\u2019s gotta act like he does, for your sake. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
