CALLER: Hey, Rush.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I wanted to disagree with Ian who called last week. At the time I had a comment about your audio books.<\/p>\n

<\/a>RUSH: Okay, fine. Ian is the 33-year-old who called<\/a>, if I remember right. He said he was scared, or it\u2019s scary or something like that?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah. He was saying that the conservative message just doesn\u2019t resonate. It\u2019s too scary to people.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I wanted to completely disagree with that. Personally, I hate defeatism. I think what we need in a presidential candidate is muscular conservatism. I think people follow a strong leader. I grew up in the eighties, and I saw it work with Ronald Reagan, and I also remember —<\/p>\n

RUSH: I agree. I go back and forth. I have people telling me, “Rush, we\u2019ve gotta be real gentle with the way they we approach these people \u2019cause they\u2019re scared and they don\u2019t like being yelled at.” I\u2019m thinking, “That\u2019s just not how this has happened. I\u2019ve responded to confident, forceful, aggressive, optimistic people in my life.”<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, absolutely. I remember a voting block that came forward called the Reagan Democrats, and I\u2019ve never heard of a McCain Democrat or a Christie Democrat, by the way. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, we\u2019re looking for Christie Republicans, actually, but that\u2019s another story.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes. (laughing) Well, I think there\u2019s millions of conservatives out there that don\u2019t even know they\u2019re conservatives yet because they\u2019ve never had a presidential candidate for president.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, there\u2019s some truth in that, like that 33-year-old has never seen a conservative win anything. That doesn\u2019t help, either.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right. I may sound silly, but I thought of it this way: If somebody their whole life has been fed hot dogs, and then one day somebody gives them a steak, imagine how they would respond.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay. Enough of that. We got 40 seconds. Get to me. Get to my books before we run out of time.<\/p>\n

CALLER: You\u2019re my fourth favorite book reader at this point right now, and I\u2019m an aficionado. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Fourth?<\/p>\n

<\/a>CALLER: I\u2019ve probably listened to hundreds or thousands of audio books and I love you as Rush Revere<\/a>.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Fourth …<\/p>\n

CALLER: Fourth.<\/p>\n

RUSH: … favorite?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, fourth.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I ought to hang up on you. <\/p>\n

CALLER: I can\u2019t lie, Rush. I\u2019ve listened to the Harry Potter books, I have to admit. They\u2019re at the top of \u2019em. But you\u2019re going up against a lot. You\u2019ve only put out three or four audio books, to my knowledge, but I think you\u2019re excellent.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<\/map>\n<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, I got two. I got two out.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well —<\/p>\n

RUSH: And they\u2019re out at the same time.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I have The Way Things Ought to Be —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, that\u2019s right. That\u2019s right. I forgot.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — going back to the nineties and then See, I Told You So.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, but those are two different genres. The children\u2019s books now, which… Look, it\u2019s good. It\u2019s good for me to hear that I\u2019m fourth in something. It\u2019s actually good for me to hear that, folks. It\u2019s a dose of cold water right smack-dab in the face so that I, too, can understand what it\u2019s like to suck.<\/p>\n
