This is Neil. Neil, it’s great to have you on the program, sir. Hello.

CALLER: Rush?

RUSH: Yeah.

CALLER: It’s so obvious of what’s going on here with Sterling. It was construed. It was set up. Somebody infiltrated him through his girlfriend —

RUSH: Oh, no. Wait a minute now.

CALLER: — and told her what to do, told her how to do it.

RUSH: Don’t do this to me, Neil. (laughing)

CALLER: They want his team, Rush!

RUSH: Neil, don’t do this to me.

CALLER: They want his team.

RUSH: Do you realize what Don Lemon is gonna do with this segment?

CALLER: What?

RUSH: Well, here… (groans) Here you are calling, telling me that Sterling was set up.

CALLER: You can tell it. Rush, they want to get you out of there, but they haven’t figured out how to do it yet.</line>

RUSH: Well, that’s true.

CALLER: I’m just trying to tell you the ones that cry the hardest at the funeral are the ones that don’t mean no good, didn’t mean that person any good. Someone wants his team. As soon as it’s set up for him to sell that team, the ones that want it are gonna contrive to get it. They gonna do whatever it takes by any means necessary.

RUSH: Are you saying that the woman, that V. Stiviano set him up?

CALLER: Rush, if someone wanted to get to you, they could go through your wife and get to you, if you let ’em. But you’re too smart for that, I’m sure.

RUSH: Okay. Okay. Neil, look, I’m gonna ask you to hold on, because I’ve only got 30 seconds this segment, and I need to probe your thinking further. But what I’m hearing you say is that you think that this guy, Sterling, has been who he is for the longest time.

CALLER: Yes, sir.

RUSH: And somebody finally decided to set him up and expose him and get rid of him and that that’s what this is. Is that what you’re saying?

CALLER: And I wish the world would see it for that and I hope everybody rallies around this guy.

RUSH: You want the world to rally around the guy?

CALLER: Yes, sir! Yes, sir! It’s time for all of this nonsense to stop.

RUSH: Somebody send that comment over to Don Lemon at CNN and Erin Burnett right now saying, “Get it ready for your Stunt King segment tonight.” Now, Neil, don’t hang up. Don’t go away.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Can you imagine what the Drive-Bys would do with that? Oh, man, oh, man, oh, man. Greetings, my friends. Great to have you back. Rush Limbaugh and the fastest three hours in media, and we are here, the Limbaugh Institute for Advanced Conservative Studies. As long as I’m here, doesn’t matter where “here” is. Telephone number is 800-282-2882, and the e-mail address, ElRushbo@eibnet.com.

I want to get back to Neil in Dallas because had I known what you were gonna say, I would have delayed taking your call and given you a little bit more than two minutes to try to squeeze it in. Now you don’t have to hurry. I want you to walk me through here what you believe. You think Donald Sterling was set up. You mentioned that anybody can be set up. You said they’ve been trying to get me and they haven’t for the longest time and I should be wary of being set up.

CALLER: You remember Rutgers, when you talked about the Rutgers girls?

RUSH: The Rutgers —

CALLER: Anyway, one time there was a controversy about you saying something and your sponsors began to drop you, but you ran through them like they were barricades, you know. And any time you want to say something or somebody wants you off the air or wants you away from something or wants your team, as they want Sterling’s team, then we’ll get somebody to infiltrate him.

RUSH: Okay. Neil, who wants Sterling’s team?

CALLER: The ones that holler “Sell the team.” That’s the ones you look at. “You need to give up the team.”

RUSH: Okay, but who —

CALLER: I don’t want to call no names, Rush. Just listen. Just pay attention. They’ll tell you who they are, because they’re gonna be the ones —

RUSH: Yeah, but do you think you know who it is?

CALLER: (laughing) Rush —

RUSH: That’s why you don’t want to say. You know who you think is behind this setup.

CALLER: Well, you know —

RUSH: Neil, let me explain to the audience. Some people just tuned in. Let me explain what’s going on. Neil called right before the previous hour ended and we didn’t have enough time with him. His theory is based on the fact that Sterling’s racist thoughts and comments are nothing new, that everybody’s known them for a long time. Neil’s theory is that somebody now decided they want the Clippers, and so Sterling was set up here as a means of getting rid of him, and that’s what we’re talking about here. And Neil, obviously he’s got a name in mind but he won’t mention who. So I guess if your theory holds, we should watch to see who gets the Clippers and then we’ll know?

CALLER: Yes, sir. I mean, I’m listening to what he said that was actually worth all the harassment he’s getting. What did he say?

RUSH: Well, I want you to listen to the sound bite with me. You know, you’re in Dallas, and Mark Cuban owns the Mavericks.

CALLER: Yes.

RUSH: Now, Mark Cuban, this is in the locker room of the American Airlines center before game four, the Mavericks game against the Spurs. Here’s about 20 seconds of what he said, but this has created a little buzz out there.</line>

CUBAN: There’s no excuse for anybody to support racism. There’s no place for it in our league. But, you know, it’s a very, very, very slippery slope. You know, if it’s about racism and we’re ready to kick people out of the league, okay. Then what about homophobia? All right? What about somebody who doesn’t like a particular religion? What about someone who’s anti-Semitic?

CALLER: Yeah.

RUSH: He went on to say that Sterling didn’t say or do anything. He hasn’t run the team on his beliefs. He said these things, he may think these things, but Cuban went on to say that in the way he runs the team, he hasn’t run the team as a racist owner.

CALLER: He paid everybody. Everybody’s gotten paid. Everybody’s living well. The team is rallying right now.

RUSH: And right, free agents went there willingly.

CALLER: They been paid. He’s not taking no money out of anybody’s pocket.

RUSH: Right. So Cuban’s point is we gotta be really careful. Are we gonna get rid of people and take away their property based on what they think?

CALLER: You know what the problem is with America, Rush, what I think it is?

RUSH: What?

CALLER: It’s arrogance. We’re not the dumbest people in the world. We’re actually the smartest people in the world. But it’s our arrogance that’s what’s gonna destroy us. That’s in politics and life in general.

RUSH: You know, you know what it is? Neil, let me tell you what it is. Like let me give you this example of this guy in Great Britain who’s listening to a politician quote Winston Churchill on Islam and calls the cops to arrest him. Somebody needs to tell that guy to go to hell. Somebody needs to stand up and say, “Shut the hell up, go to hell, get away from here. There’s no crime that’s been committed. Who the hell are you?” It’s not arrogance, it’s fear, and people are scared to death to speak up. It’s liberalism destroying this country or socialism or communism, whatever you want to call it, but the left is destroying this country, and people are scared to stand up and tell ’em to go to hell.

CALLER: Yeah. Well, I think in the government it’s arrogance. Now, you right about America.

RUSH: Well, government, okay. Arrogance, condescension, yeah, ruling class, all that, you’re right.

CALLER: Hey, when I do something so stupid, when it goes over, I go, “Wow, man,” I pat myself on the back. (laughing) They fell for that!

RUSH: (laughing) You remind me of the Hutch.

CALLER: I just tell the truth. The truth is the truth, and a lie is a lie, Rush.

RUSH: I think the Hutch is living through you, Neil.

CALLER: Right is right, wrong is wrong. People need to stop all this racism stuff, get over it, man. Live your life. You in America, man.

RUSH: Well, you know, it was Bernie — (crosstalk)

CALLER: — the little freedom that we still have.

RUSH: That was Bernie Goldberg’s point last night, that we can’t possibly be a racist country with this reaction to the guy. There’s nobody defending him, other than you, nobody defending him.

CALLER: Well, I mean, I hope the team rallies around. You know, the sponsors are dropping him. That’s terrible. But that’s not gonna hurt him. The man is a billionaire.

RUSH: Yeah. That’s true. And if they take the team away from him, he’ll have to sell it. He’ll become another billionaire once over.

CALLER: Take the team away from him for what? That’s like taking the EIB from you. You are the EIB.

RUSH: Believe me, they’re trying.

CALLER: They can’t, Rush. You are the EIB. That’s why.

RUSH: It hasn’t stopped ’em from trying. They’re gonna continue trying as long as I’m behind this microphone.

CALLER: Well, you can’t stop trying for freedom, either, can you?

RUSH: No, I’m not gonna stop.

CALLER: Yeah — (crosstalk)

RUSH: No.

CALLER: — the roadblocks.

RUSH: I can’t help it if they don’t have a sense of humor. I can’t help it if they’re wound up so tight. But somebody needs to tell these people to shut up and go to hell. They don’t get their way on everything. They don’t get to be little fascists and tell everybody what they have to think and how they have to conform and behave and all this.

CALLER: We need you to have some type of criteria to talk about so you can entertain us. So don’t knock it too hard, okay, let ’em being who they are because I listen to you every day. I’m not gonna stop listening.

RUSH: I hear what he’s saying. He says go easy on ’em, because we don’t want ’em getting you. Right? You want to be entertained here every day. You want me to hang around. You don’t want me to make myself unnecessarily a target.

CALLER: You need interesting things to talk about, and, trust me —

RUSH: Well — (crosstalk)

CALLER: — you plenty.

RUSH: I don’t have to worry about that. They write my script every day. Why hasn’t somebody tried to take away Reverend Wright’s church for the things that he said?

CALLER: Because it doesn’t fit their agenda. Now you trying to get me to talk about stuff I don’t need to talk about now.

RUSH: It’s a rhetorical question.

CALLER: I’m on the radio, Rush. There’s a lot of things I don’t want to talk about, ’cause I know a lot of people are listening.

RUSH: That’s where you’re wrong. You can talk about it. You’re a caller. You can say anything. You’re anonymous.

CALLER: Okay. All right.

RUSH: Neil, you can tell me who you think is setting Sterling up. You can tell me who you think wants the Clippers ’cause you’re anonymous. Nobody can do anything to you.

CALLER: Well, I tell you what. Give me an untraceable phone and then I’ll tell you.

RUSH: See the fear? You see the fear that exists? This guy, he’s living out there, he’s anonymous. We don’t even know if Neil’s your real name. In fact, I’d be willing to tell people it isn’t your real name. I’d be willing to tell people you’re not even really in Dallas, that you’re calling from Arizona somewhere.

CALLER: Rush, how hard would it be for me to contact you other than the EIB right now?

RUSH: Well, Mr. Snerdley has a question for you. Does the person who wants the Clippers have a deep connection to basketball already?

CALLER: If I told him that, then he would know who I’m talking about.

RUSH: Well, then the answer is “yes.”

CALLER: I didn’t say “yes.” (laughing)

RUSH: I know you didn’t, but you did. It’s how it works. Before you go, Neil, before you go, I have here a story about Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

CALLER: Oh, my goodness.

RUSH: No, this is fascinating here.

CALLER: Okay.

RUSH: It’s from The Daily Caller. “NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar attacked the collective outrage emanating from America’s media over Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling’s alleged racist remarks, calling the publication of a private conversation ‘sleazy’ and wondering why earlier, more public manifestations of racism [by this guy] failed to similarly shock” people.</line>

His point is — and this is why I wanted to ask you about it — everybody’s known about this guy, and this guy has said and done things over the years long before this. Why was there no outrage, and why all of a sudden is there now collective outrage when he says something in private?

CALLER: Can I answer that?

RUSH: Yeah.

CALLER: It’s because he paid his debt to society. They got what they wanted from him. Every time he did something foolish — that they thought was foolish — he had to pay. And now somebody wants that team.

RUSH: Well, it’s a fascinating thought. Okay, so they’ve gotten as much blood from the stone as they’re gonna get and now it’s time to get his team?

CALLER: Now it’s time to get the team. He’s about… He’s on his way towards grave anyway as far as we’re concerned. How old is he, 80-some-old years old?

RUSH: Well, you’re just looking at the actuarial tables. He’s 81.

CALLER: Now, where is his family? Does he have a family, children or somebody who are in the will or somebody?

RUSH: Well, it’s interesting you bring up his family, because in the early days of this, go back to Saturday, his ex-wife was part of the crowd dumping on him. She has done a 180 and is now defending him and saying that this is not who the guy is.

CALLER: Right! Somebody had to, because he doesn’t know how to do it. Right now he’s being led in, you know, just like a horse to the trough. So he doesn’t know which way to turn. The man is 80-some-odd years old. All of us are gonna, at some point in time, have some form of dementia.

RUSH: Well, I haven’t had any yet.

CALLER: You know, and so what they’re doing is they’re playing on the somewhat dementia that he has.

RUSH: All right. Well, this is a fascinating theory. This is a fascinating theory. And, Neil, I’m glad that you held on through the break so I could dig deep, explore further. I really… You know, you got it. I really appreciate that you’re in the audience, and I’m taking under close advisement your requests that I don’t cross the line so I stay here and entertain you every day, and not give them a chance to take me out.

I appreciate that. I really do. But you’re on a tear. This is fascinating. So here. Let me sum up Neil’s theory. Sterling’s 81 and has dementia. By the actuarial tables, he’s gonna die sooner than later. The NAALCP and all the charities have gotten as much money out of the guy as you’re gonna get. They bled him dry. He’s had to pay for all of his past transgressions.

He’s paid up. He’s donated here and he’s donated there to cover things up, and now it’s time to get his team. So they get this groupie to go in there and become his sugar baby. She’s got this tape recorder, and her story is that he asked her to tape him because his memory’s failing and he thinks he says brilliant things and he wants to be able to remember ’em.

In truth, the whole thing is a setup ’cause this is a groupie. This babe knows all kinds of athletes. She hangs around with Dodgers players. She’s in a picture with Magic Johnson. That’s what ticked the guy off, don’t forget. That’s what ticked-him off: She’s in a picture with Magic. So now they bled the stone dry. He’s donated as much as they’re gonna get. They want to get the team before he can bequeath it to his family, and he’s being set up.

That’s Neil’s theory.

We’ll wait to see what CNN does with this one.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Look at this. Looky here. Look what I just found at Yahoo News. Headline: “Exit Strategy for NBA Donald Sterling: Sell Clippers to Magic Johnson.” YahooNews.com. I haven’t clicked on the link yet. I just got this right as the break was ending so I haven’t had a chance to click on it, but there it is: “Exit Strategy for NBA Donald Sterling: Sell Clippers to Magic Johnson,” and that would make it all better.

That would make it all good, and Sterling would be a hero again. </line>

Well, I don’t know he’d be a hero, but it would be okay. Now, what if Kareem wants ’em, though? What if Kareem’s group doesn’t have the money that Magic’s group has got? Didn’t Magic try to buy the Dodgers? V. Stiviano’s involved with Dodgers players. Folks, there’s an intricate web being woven here. This babe, this sugar baby’s all over LA sports. She with Sterling. She’s with Magic.

I saw a picture of her, I think, with Steve Kemp of the Dodgers. Magic tries to buy the Dodgers. Wait a minute. Did Magic’s group get the Dodgers? (interruption) Magic’s group did get the Dodgers, and the Dodgers apparently aren’t enough. Magic wants the Clippers. Yahoo News says. Not me, CNN. It’s Yahoo News. (interruption) Guggenheim Partners? Who’s partners with Guggenheim Partners? (interruption)

Magic’s partners with Guggenheim Partners? Not to be confused with the Getty Museum. So, well, “Exit Strategy for NBA Donald Sterling: Sell Clippers to Magic Johnson.” Damn it, I was gonna make a move on ’em. I guess I just got outflanked here. I wasn’t thinking fast enough. Okay. Here we go. Here we go. Here’s from the Yahoo story:

“For all these despicable revelations tumbling out of the hateful heart of Donald Sterling, there promises construction of a roadmap to redemption for the Los Angeles Clippers and the NBA. There’s a way out for the most hated man in Los Angeles now, a way out for the commissioner’s office and the owners responsible for long legitimizing and harboring a bigot and slumlord” in their league.

Magic Johnson. “Magic Johnson and his billionaire backers, the Guggenheim Partners, want a chance to purchase the Los Angeles Clippers, league sources told Yahoo Sports. ‘Magic’s absolutely interested,’ one source closely connected to Johnson’s business interests told Yahoo Sports on Sunday night.” Weeeeell. Hmm!

Interesting, is it not? “Magic Johnson and his billionaire backers, the Guggenheim Partners, want a chance to purchase the Los Angeles Clippers [as] a way out for the most hated man in Los Angeles now, a way out for the commissioner’s office and the owners responsible for long legitimizing and harboring a bigot and slumlord.”

Does anybody…? (laughing) “Setup.” I wonder if anybody’s gonna seriously go there, or if they’re just gonna say, “Yeah, this is a great solution.” It’s like sweetening the tea. (interruption) It is. It is. But I’m not saying that. (interruption) Neil told me don’t say things that make me big target.

Ladies and gentlemen, on a serious note here, there apparently are some new documents about Benghazi that link — conclusively link — the Obama White House to the change in talking points about Benghazi. Now, this is something that the Regime has long denied. The Regime, Obama, and Hillary, and Susan Rice, have long denied that they were involved in the changing talking points.

They tried to dump that all off on the CIA, if you’ll recall. But apparently there are some new documents. You know, when it rains, it pours. I’m thinking back now to this Michael Goodwin piece that ran in the New York Post on Sunday that I instinctively discounted. Because when I read somebody write that the media is turning on Obama, I haven’t seen any evidence of it. So I set it aside.

But now it is abundantly clear. What John Kerry did in private with Israel, this has got people upset like you can’t imagine. This is just stupid, it’s crackpot, it’s outrageous. Obama is… The Soviet Union is being reconstituted. There are a lot of people really, really seeing our foreign policy is stupid and nonexistent, and it may well be now that there’s gonna be some truthful document dumping.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: There’s one more line here from this Yahoo Sports story that just says — and, by the way, the wife doing a 180 and defending Sterling is proof of Neil’s point that somebody’s making a play on the Clippers, because if Sterling does indeed pass away, I mean, she would inherit it. She doesn’t want to lose the team, apparently. So she’s turning around, she’s defending her husband, whereas Saturday she was in the cascade of criticism. She’s done a 180. She’s now defending him.

But this Yahoo Sports story, get this, now: “Magic Johnson is the ultimate cleanser in sports, and steering a Clippers sale to him could be transformative for the franchise. Truth be told, it could change the balance of basketball power in Los Angeles forever.” Meaning, Lakers who?

So Yahoo Sports, all about Magic, the ultimate cleanser in sports. Racism will disappear. It’s Obama all over. Racism will disappear. It will be a new sports empire in Southern California, owned and controlled by Magic and his billionaire partners, the Guggenheim Partners. And steering this to Magic would be everybody’s solution to the problem. Right there it is in Yahoo Sports.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Back to the phones we go. Jori in Orem, Utah. Glad you waited. I really appreciate your patience, and welcome to the program.

CALLER: Thanks very much for taking my call, Rush.

RUSH: You bet.

CALLER: So what is concerning me is the disrespect that’s being shown to the players of the Clippers themselves. I mean, I’m reading right now on Sports Center the biggest stand that they can make is to boycott the game and not go. And it seems very unfair —

RUSH: Wait, wait, hold, hold, hold it just a minute. I want to make sure I heard you. You’re telling me that you’re reading the ESPN website?

CALLER: On TV right now.

RUSH: And the ESPN website says what?

CALLER: The biggest stand that the fans can make is boycott the game and not show up.

RUSH: Oh. Oh. Oh. The biggest stand. (crosstalk) Hold it. Damn it. This phone system, he can’t hear me. I need to ask you for clarification. Are you saying the biggest sin or the biggest stand the fans can make?

CALLER: The biggest stand.

RUSH: Okay. So ESPN’s urging the fans to boycott the game?

CALLER: Yes.

RUSH: Okay.

CALLER: And the whole Clippers team wore their jerseys inside out to not display the Clippers name because the owner made these comments. So they’re bringing down the entire team because of one man’s words.

RUSH: During the playoffs.

CALLER: Exactly. They need to be stood behind by their fans and push forward and overcome what one idiotic person says. But instead they’re being told not to go to the game. The person who was supposed to sing the national anthem is no longer going to be singing the national anthem at this game. So they’re completely disrespecting the players themselves for all their hard work that they’ve done to get to the playoffs and not supporting them all.

RUSH: Let me tell you something. Whoever set this up is really good. They covered every base.

CALLER: Yes, they did.

RUSH: They’ve got the media wrapped around their little finger. I mean, when you get rid of the anthem singer, I used to be in charge of anthem singers at the Kansas City Royals. When you can get rid of an anthem singer, you’ve got power. Let me just tell you, ’cause those people will go anywhere to sing the anthem on TV in front of a crowd. If you can get rid of them, you’ve got real power.

CALLER: Yeah. And it’s very scary how much pull that these people have and what they’re able to do. And going to your last caller, Neil, how they had this set up, I mean, it can seem more and more clear, especially reading about Magic Johnson’s —

RUSH: In the meantime, what everybody ought to be doing, everybody ought to be wearing their business suits inside out to protest John Kerry and what he said about Israel, which is coming up. I’m gonna get to that in the next hour. Can’t do everything at once here. That is coming up. I mean, I’ve alluded to it. Don’t think I’m not gonna get to it. I am.

CALLER: Oh, great.

RUSH: I was confused because I thought you said at first that when you were reading ESPN’s website that the biggest sin the fans could make would be to boycott, and that would have been outrageous ’cause ESPN’s basically urging pain. But when you said stand, it makes perfect sense.

CALLER: Yeah. It’s just crazy how one person can turn an entire city around and have ’em just go against their team, you know, altogether, when in fact they should be standing — it’s not like any of these players agree with the owner. No one agrees with what he’s saying so why are they being punished and hung out to dry because of the actions of one person?

RUSH: I want you to listen. Let’s play the coach. Jori, thanks for the call. Grab sound bite 14. This is Doc Rivers. Doc Rivers is the coach of the Clippers. It was in a conference call reporters yesterday talk about Sterling.

RIVERS: Yeah, I believe he said those things. I heard what he said. You know, and so until someone tells me differently, you know, you usually listen to what people say. And, you know, I haven’t given him his due process. I haven’t given him an opportunity to explain himself — and, quite honestly, right now don’t want him to, or want him to to me. So I’ll wait for that — that further judgment. You know, I was asked, do I need to talk with Donald. And I passed, quite honestly. I don’t think right now is the time or the place — for me, at least — and so I just took a pass.

RUSH: That’s Doc Rivers, the coach of the Clippers. (interruption) It is. I mean, the Clippers haven’t been to the playoffs in I don’t know how long with a legitimate chance. I mean, everybody in the NBA makes the playoffs. Well, except the Clippers didn’t for the longest time. (laughing) But now they have. This whole thing is coming together so clearly.

When you got Yahoo Sports saying Magic Johnson’s the biggest cleanser in sports, and the out here for the NBA and owners is for Magic to get the team. Of course, Mrs. Sterling is gonna have something to say about that ’cause I don’t think she wants to get rid of team, and this V. Stiviano, this “V Dot” babe is in there. This is… (interruption) He won’t give the team to her. I guarantee you. She’s histoire.

Sterling give the team to her or…? (interruption) What if they make up? (chuckling) What if Sterling makes up with…? (interruption) Well, if Sterling were to give her the team… (interruption) How do we know that Sterling hasn’t seen the setup from day one? Maybe he gives the team to V. Stiviano and she gives it to Magic. None of this is gonna happen. I mean, Sterling…

They’re not gonna make up. The ex-wife is in there, Sterling, and this V Dot. It’s all clear to me what’s going on here, and I think it’s gonna become more and more clear. Now, on TV it’s fascinating. They’re still treating this as though Jim Crow has come back to life. They are two days behind what’s really going on. They still got their endless parade of guests trying to be the biggest, best articulator of outrage and being offended and America sucks and all of this stuff.

It’s just amazing to watch all this stuff go by at the same time.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Okay, folks, I’m just sitting here with idle thoughts ruminating through my inveterately large cranial cavity. What if…? Based on everything we’ve learned from Yahoo Sports about Magic and Guggenheim Partner, what if the reason Sterling told V Dot that he didn’t want her showing up in pictures with Magic is that he knew that Magic was gonna make a play for his team?

What if he knew that?

I’m giving some gifts here to Erin Burnett and Don Lemon, Mr. Black Hole at CNN.

I’m just saying, nobody really knows anything. Everybody’s just proceeding here on assumptions. What if Sterling didn’t want her talking to Magic because he knew that Magic was making a play for his team, and now what’s going on is that Magic and the Guggenheim Partners are doing what they’re doing to get the price down?

(interruption) Well, everything else seems to be up for grabs in this. Everybody else has got their ideas. The Reverend Jackson has his. Sheila Jackson Lee has hers. Spike Lee has his ideas and Magic. (interruption) Sheila Jackson? Oh, we got it all coming up. Oh, yeah. Sheila Jackson Lee weighed in on this, absolutely. Let’s go to David in Memphis. You’re next on the program. Great to have you, sir. Hello.

CALLER: How you doing, Rush? A group that’s pretty much untouched on all this that’s involved is NAACP, and in my opinion they provided cover for Sterling over the years by giving him various awards. They were about to give him another award. That’s been discussed. But when they’re giving him these awards over the years, and everybody says they’ve known he’s been racist all these years, it made it difficult for a guy like Elgin Baylor and other people who have brought lawsuits against him and other complaints to get any respect or get any voice. Because how do you do that when you got NAACP giving the guy awards?

RUSH: Now, this is a fascinating point, too!

CALLER: You taught us how to think over the years, Rush. (chuckling) That’s just what I came up with.

RUSH: Well, I appreciate your crediting me with your thought on this. (laughing)

CALLER: (chuckling)

RUSH: CNN will appreciate that. But it’s actually a good point. So here you have the NAALCP chapter in LA. They’ve given Sterling couple awards. They’re gonna give him a third award. Meanwhile, here’s Elgin Baylor, who’s trying to sue Sterling over the years in a housing dispute. How can a black guy successfully sue Sterling when the local NAACLP chapter’s giving him award after award after award?

I mean, that is an excellent point. It’s something to throw into the mix here. Oh, that reminds me! I was watching CNN during show prep here, and there were two black guys, and they were livid at the NAALCP chapter of LA. One of them was Marc Lamont Hill, and I forget who the other one was. I don’t know who. But they were just trashing this LA chapter.

They were saying things like, “This is not just some Podunk chapter. This is the second-largest-city-in-the-country chapter, and what are they doing giving this guy awards and who the hell they think they are taking money from this guy?” They were really ripping this chapter. Marc Lamont Hill was really ripping this chapter of the local NAALCP.

Well, old David here’s got a point. I mean, if the local NAALCP chapter’s giving you awards left and right, who can possibly sue you for racial discrimination? All you gotta do is pull out, “The local chapter of the NAALCP says I’m great guy.” (chuckling) Oh, man. Do you people realize what a ride we’re all being taken for on this story?

Is it becoming clear now how the media works — how the soap opera script gets written every day — and the real story is way, way down beneath the surface, and only becomes known after everything that was intended to happen happens? (interruption) Mmm-hmm. (interruption) What is being exposed? Well… (interruption)

Well, I know, there’s a lot of… I mean, you’re talking about the deleterious culture of LA Southern California being exposed in this whole thing. But nobody’s paying any attention to that. Nobody’s noticing that. They’re too caught up in the Jim Crow. In fact, they’re losing Jim Crow in this thing and we’re gonna have to work real hard to bring Jim Crow back ’cause they’re losing that angle.

What we’re talking about here, we’re not supposed to be talking about until next week, folks, when this is all settled.

That’s the way the soap opera script works.

But thanks to old Neil in Dallas. (laughing) I know he loves hearing me credit him for that.

RUSH: We’re gonna start in Dallas. This is Neil.
