RUSH: Okay, the latest from Donald Sterling, a new tape recently discovered by RadarOnline.com. He was just trying to get V. Stiviano in bed<\/a>. He just wanted to have a little sex, and when you\u2019re an old guy trying to do that you\u2019ll pretty much say anything. So it was just about sex, and it didn\u2019t affect his leadership of the Clippers. They\u2019re in the playoffs. What harm could there have been? Worked for Bill Clinton.<\/p>\n

Well, the left is not taking kindly to this. Last night on CNN\u2019s Special Report, the host Don Lemon spoke with senior legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin about Donald Sterling and his impact and also the impact of the lifetime ban on other sports. See, the reason for this is Richard Sherman, the cornerback of the Seattle Seahawks, was asked after he signed a contract extension if he thought the NFL would ban an owner similar to Sterling if one surfaced. Sherman said (paraphrasing), “No, there\u2019s no way. We already have an NFL team called the Redskins<\/a>, and the NFL doesn\u2019t care. The NFL, they\u2019re not nearly as concerned as they show. The NFL is more of a bottom line league. If it doesn\u2019t affect their bottom line, they\u2019re not as concerned.” So Don Lemon wanted to know if Jeffrey Toobin, the CNN legal analyst, thought that Richard Sherman was right.<\/line><\/p>\n

TOOBIN: I think Sherman\u2019s right. I think it is unconscionable that the Washington football team is called what it\u2019s called. It is just a bigoted term. It is not something that is accepted to use in polite or impolite company. And the fact that the NFL has not cracked down on Dan Snyder, who is, by the way, nearly as awful an owner as Don Sterling, I think is a disgrace.<\/p>\n

LEMON: Okay.<\/p>\n

TOOBIN: The NFL is a very conservative league in every sense of the world.<\/p>\n

RUSH: All right, now, I\u2019m sorry, but Redskins fans talk about the Redskins multiple thousands of times a day, every day in this country, and nobody is offended when they do it. And yet he just said here it\u2019s a term that\u2019s not accepted in use in polite or impolite company. We talk about the Redskins all the time during football season on this program. Every Redskins fan talks about the Redskins. But the big question is, why now? Why didn\u2019t anybody care about this one year ago, five years ago, 10 years ago?<\/p>\n

This is how the media soap opera works. Jeffrey Toobin never said anything about this 10 years ago. The Redskins have been the Redskins for how many decades? It\u2019s like McCain the other day (imitating McCain), “Yeah, yeah, I think it\u2019s bad. I think they ought to change their name. Yeah, Redskins bad.” Why? It\u2019s just everybody getting caught up in the inertia of the moment of the day. Here\u2019s how you prove that you are not a bad person to the media or the left today.<\/p>\n

Somebody has decided Redskins has to go, and it becomes the cause celebre of the day. Every leftist gets on board, whereas not that long ago they couldn\u2019t have cared less. And now Dan Snyder who is, by the way, nearly as awful an owner as Sterling? Did he really intend to say that? Wow. Nobody thinks that. Sterling\u2019s in a league all his own. He\u2019s in a class all his own. Whatever the class, it doesn\u2019t take long to call the roll, the class that Sterling\u2019s in.
