CALLER: Oh, thank you, Rush. It\u2019s an honor to speak to you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you!<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey, I just changed my party to Democrat because I wanted to make some investments this year and not get audited. I can\u2019t be the only one that\u2019s thinking of this.<\/p>\n

RUSH: (laughing) You\u2019re kidding. You changed your party registration to Democrat just so you won\u2019t get audited?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, that, too — and the silver lining is, I can vote in the primaries for their weakest candidate.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, this is true.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I can\u2019t be the only one that\u2019s thought of this. I mean, there\u2019s a lot of us out there that are conservatives that have businesses or want to start businesses.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Let me tell you, I know there are a lot of citizens that are living in real fear of their government.<\/line><\/p>\n

CALLER: Absolutely.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Particularly after what you\u2019ve seen the IRS do with the Tea Party.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: So I can understand it. I don\u2019t know how commonplace it might be. That would just be a wild guess. But being a registered Democrat, with this Regime, is almost the equivalent of a Get Out of Jail Free card. <\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s what I was thinking.<\/p>\n

RUSH: So as long as you\u2019re not restricted to having to vote Democrat in the general election, then you\u2019re cool.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Mmm-hmm. Well, my husband wanted me to tell you because I can\u2019t be the only one that\u2019s thought of this, and it might really skew the results for the pollsters.<\/p>\n

RUSH: So you\u2019re basically doing this for self-protection, not sabotage?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, absolutely.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah. <\/p>\n

CALLER: The government scares me.<\/p>\n

RUSH: It scares a lot of people. You know, it\u2019s amazing when you see support for people being thrown out of whatever they do because of what they say — and I don\u2019t mean Sterling. I\u2019m just talking about average, ordinary people are afraid to tell people what they really think about anything. <\/p>\n

They\u2019re afraid somebody\u2019s gonna overhear it and report them to somebody or confront them. Not report, just confront them and get in their face about it. It really is a phenomenon to me that I\u2019m seeing more and more. The easiest way to deal with it is is just shut up. Don\u2019t try to provoke anybody or call attention to yourself.<\/p>\n

You know, you might even want to send a $5 donation to the DNC just to get your name on the list if you\u2019re doing it for protection. (interruption) Ah, it\u2019s five bucks. Whoopie do! If you\u2019re doing it for protection — Snerdley\u2019s looking at me like I\u2019m a traitor. I\u2019m just following her line of thought here. You know, a lot of people join the Communist Party for the same reason, just to keep the authorities away from \u2019em. Karen, thanks much for the call.
