CALLER: Hey, Rush. How you doing?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Fine, sir. Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey, I was listening a long time ago to your show. I found out that you\u2019d been doing a lot of fundraising for blood cancer research<\/a>, and ever since then I\u2019ve been trying to call in and actually thank you because I have multiple myeloma. I was diagnosed two and a half years ago, and treatment has gone fantastic. At the time I was diagnosed, my myeloma cells were 70% in my marrow, and now it\u2019s down to 1%.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Holy… That is excellent.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, and next month I\u2019m gonna be doing the stem cell transplant, which my oncologist and the transplant specialist are very confident is gonna put me in remission.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That would not have been possible all that long ago. <\/p>\n

CALLER: No.<\/p>\n

<\/a>RUSH: There\u2019s been a tremendous amount of progress and research and all that made in exactly that kind of —<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s what I was gonna say. That\u2019s what I was gonna say, too, is the drug I\u2019m on was FDA approved in 2003, and it has since become the primary treatment for multiple myeloma and it\u2019s just doing fantastic work not only for me but for other people as well, it\u2019s just doing fantastic, you know. So I just wanted to call you and thank you for your part in that. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Ah, don\u2019t thank me. Thank the audience. This audience has come through with almost 35 or $40 million over the years, it\u2019s incredible. It started somewhat small, but it keeps building and building every year. But that\u2019s great. Everybody appreciates that, but more than that we\u2019re happy that this is all working for you.
