She just goes off over the influx of illegal immigrants during an unfiltered TV interview.  Her name is Bernadette Lancelin.  And it might be pronounced Lancelin.  It\u2019s Lance with an l-i-n at the end of it.  The way I was raised to phonetically pronounce things when you don\u2019t know is Lancelin.<\/p>\n<p>Bernadette Lancelin is African-American.  She\u2019s from Houston.  She says she is furious that <a href=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/?p=8940\">the White House wants to spend billions of dollars to feed and house thousands of unaccompanied immigrant children<\/a> who\u2019ve entered the country illegally. She says to the TV camera, &#8220;What about the kids here? What about the kids here in our neighborhood? And not just in our neighborhood, but in our country?  All these kids, really?  Why can\u2019t they go back?&#8221; <\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"585\" height=\"300\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/gcL259Tvvh4\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>While she acknowledged the children\u2019s parents may be struggling in poor living conditions, she said the United States and its children are struggling, too.  And if we\u2019re gonna go overboard and bend our backs to help these people, what about helping us?  She said, &#8220;I\u00c2\u2019m sorry that their parents are in poor living conditions or surroundings or whatever\u00c2\u2019s going on out there. I don\u00c2\u2019t care. I care about what\u00c2\u2019s going on right here in my own back yard, my neighborhood.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>She went off.  She\u2019s African-American.  Barack who? <\/p>\n<p><BR\/>&#8220;Seemingly exasperated, Lancelin addressed some of the other people who had gathered around a closed middle school that may soon house illegal immigrant children,&#8221; she said &#8212; and how many of you have asked this same question about any number of things that irritate you?  She said, &#8220;Am I the only one in this community that\u00c2\u2019s out here that watches the news this morning? Oh, my god! I feel alone right now in this, and I\u00c2\u2019m very saddened by it. Does nobody see what\u2019s going on here?&#8221;  Soon to be the national lament.  Bernadette Lancelin, KTRK-TV in Houston, and it is a YouTube video.  Goes off over the influx of illegal immigrants saying, &#8220;I feel sorry for them and their parents.  I don\u2019t care.  I care about what\u2019s going on in my country.&#8221; <\/line><BR\/>BREAK TRANSCRIPT <\/line><\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  You know, you could say that the reaction of Bernadette Lancelin is the same&#8230; I remember even during the sixties when we were ramping up to go to the Moon, there were people back then saying, &#8220;What are we wasting all this money for on the moon? We got people starving in America! We don\u2019t need a space program. We don\u2019t this satellite.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>Whenever the government was spending money on anything other than, quote\/unquote, &#8220;taking care of people&#8221; there were always people to rip the decisions to spend money on those areas.  Bernadette Lancelin comes along here, and despite the fact that we\u2019re spending more than enough on destitution and poverty and low-income people&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>I mean, we have the biggest welfare state the world has ever known, yet she\u2019s asking, &#8220;What about people here? Why are we spending all this money and time on these illegals?&#8221;  She\u2019s African-American, which means she\u2019s a Democrat voter.  (interruption)  Well, no, you can\u2019t.  You can\u2019t call her a racist.  By the way, the Reverend Jackson, he\u2019s also one of these people very upset here.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re gonna spend&#8230; What\u2019s Obama requested now, up to $4 billion?<\/p>\n<p>Oh, folks, I have sad news about one of these freight trains that are bringing illegal alien children unaccompanied through Mexico to the United States. They\u2019re called &#8220;death trains,&#8221; and I think they were called death trains long before these kids began to hitch rides on them.  But they are just jammed.  They\u2019re freight trains and they just jam-packed with people. <\/p>\n<p>They\u2019re so full that kids are riding on top of some of the freight cars.  Well, one of the death trains just derailed somewhere in Mexico, and it had 1300 illegal immigrant children on it.  Now, the story calls them &#8220;migrants,&#8221; but they\u2019re not migrants.  Migrants go home after they do some work.  These are unaccompanied illegal minors.  Anyway, a death train has derailed, and it was carrying 1300 such kids. <\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s all I know.  I\u2019m sure there will be more detail coming later. <\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/chicago.cbslocal.com\/2014\/07\/09\/rev-jackson-obama-feds-need-to-do-more-to-combat-chicago-violence\/\">Reverend Jackson<\/a>, having heard that Obama wants $4 billion for the border, has now demanded $2 bil\u2019 for Chicago.  &#8220;Rev. Jackson: Obama, Feds Need to Do More to Combat Chicago Violence &#8212; The Rev. Jesse Jackson and Mayor Rahm Emanuel are differing on where the fingers should be pointed when it comes to federal anti-violence help&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Jackson and Emanuel agree curbing violence involves not just police, but economic development and jobs in high crime neighborhoods; but Jackson seemed to fault President Barack Obama for funding priorities that appear to put immigrant children coming across the borders first.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  This is Chris in Charleston, South Carolina.  Chris, nice to have you.  Welcome, sir.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  Thanks so much, Rush.  I wanted to get your thoughts on two quick things.  A while back you had made a <a href=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/?p=8939\">prediction that Obama would do something<\/a> that would wake up the low-information voter, and I wanted to know that, judging by Bernadette Lancelin\u2019s reaction, could this be that moment?<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  Hmm, I must confess that I have asked myself that about this issue a number of times, because this is affecting everybody, and it is apparent that <a href=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/?p=8937\">Obama\u2019s doing nothing to stop it<\/a>.  That\u2019s the thing.  He\u2019s not even making an appearance, he\u2019s not even making a show of trying to stop it. He\u2019s not even acting as though any of it bothers him.<\/p>\n<p>But I wonder if the low-information crowd is so mindless this isn\u2019t a problem to them.  I would think it would be.  Time will tell.  The truth is Obama\u2019s approval numbers are falling, and they\u2019re falling pretty rapidly.  I think the bloom has been off the Obama rose for quite a while, actually.  You just don\u2019t see it reflected in media stories.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  Could I ask another quick question?<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  Yeah.<\/p>\n<p><img id=\"eZObject_93216\" class=\"alignright\" align=\"right\" src=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/Illegals-Undocumented-Democrats.jpg\"\/><BR\/>CALLER:  Well, is this not the perfect opportunity for someone like John Boehner or Ted Cruz to seek Bernadette out and invite her to Washington for a beer summit and say, &#8220;Hey, there\u2019s room for you in the Republican Party. You think like we do. We want to hear your thoughts&#8221;?  I mean, she\u2019s saying what we\u2019re thinking.  This is a chance to reach out to her and folks in her community, is it not?<\/line><\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  I can see where you might have a point, but I think that the&#8230; I don\u2019t know about Cruz, but Boehner and the Republican leadership, I just don\u2019t think they\u2019re thinking in these kinds of terms.  I don\u2019t think their strategic thinking encompasses a move like that right now.  They\u2019re basically in a defensive posture of, &#8220;Don\u2019t do anything to make anybody mad.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  I understand the theory that when someone\u2019s blowing something up, you get out of their way. But that has really not paid off, and I just hope that someone in DC is listening and someone thinks, &#8220;Let\u2019s pick up the phone. Let\u2019s call Bernadette. Let\u2019s tell her, &#8216;Hey, there\u2019s room for you in the Republican Party.  You\u2019re conservative, and you don\u2019t even know it.'&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  Well, I\u2019m gonna try to find the actual video from YouTube.  It ran on a Houston TV station, KTLK I think, and there\u2019s a YouTube video that I think has gone viral. It might help if we could contribute to Bernadette being heard in her own words.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  That would be great.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  Let me try to dig it up.  Now, along these lines &#8212; and I don\u2019t mean to be throwing cold water on you, Chris.  This is something I\u2019ve got in the Stack over here I was gonna get to later.  I just have time now to basically tease it.  There\u2019s a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/reason.com\/poll\/2014\/07\/10\/reason-rupe-2014-millennial-survey\">huge poll that Reason<\/a> magazine just published.  It\u2019s a poll they conducted. I only have time to give you the headline and some of the top-line bits of it. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Millennials Think Government Is Inefficient, Abuses Its Power, and Supports Cronyism &#8212; But young Americans also want government to guarantee health insurance and living wages; plan to vote for Democrats in 2014 and 2016.&#8221;  So here you have this current young generation out of college, or soon to be, into their early thirties, and they see government as ineffective and inefficient &#8212; and they admit it &#8212; and yet they want more of it.  <\/p>\n<p>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  I want to go back to the call that we just had from Chris in Charleston, South Carolina, because there\u2019s a larger question that he was actually addressing.  What he really wanted to know, why don\u2019t the Republicans go find Bernadette Lancelin in Houston?  By the way, we\u2019re working on that.  We have to edit it for our broadcast purposes.  Not the substance, just get rid of some of the fluff so it doesn\u2019t take 10 minutes to listen to.  I\u2019ll have it for you here in mere moments.  But he wanted to know, why don\u2019t the Republicans go down there and lasso this woman, bring her to Washington, do a public event with her, and tell her that the Republican Party has the answers to the questions that she was asking. <\/p>\n<p><img id=\"eZObject_93233\" class=\"alignright\" align=\"right\" src=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/ObamaImmigrationSHORT.jpg\"\/><BR\/>Now, here\u2019s the sad, I gotta hit you between the eyes with it, what it really meant.  His suggestion, the fact that he even had to suggest it, is very troubling.  Because the larger question that his idea exposes is this.  We have a humanitarian crisis.  We have, just since April, 240,000, maybe 300,000, conflicting numbers, but we\u2019re talking about rounding errors now.  Just since April 240,000 to 300,000 illegals have flooded the border, and of those, 55,000 are children.  Why aren\u2019t the Republicans using this episode to prove the need to secure the border and defeat amnesty?  That\u2019s the question he was really asking. <\/line><\/p>\n<p>And let me ask you another question.  Have you heard anybody in the Republican leadership &#8212; you\u2019ve heard Cruz, and you have heard a couple others &#8212; but have you heard anybody in the Republican leadership even try to turn this issue into a political advantage for the Republican Party?  It\u2019s a sad reality, folks.  Apparently what is happening in this humanitarian crisis is, in and of itself, not even enough for the Republican Party to try to draw distinction between itself and the Democrat Party with.  That is just amazing to me! <\/p>\n<p>Now, they might say to me, &#8220;Rush, these are children.  We don\u2019t want to politicize these sad, unfortunate children.&#8221;  Oh, get off of it.  You are sitting where are you because that\u2019s all the Democrats do.  But get past the idea that it\u2019s kids.  The border is being eviscerated right before our very eyes.  That\u2019s what\u2019s happening here!  There is essentially no border if anybody is allowed to cross.  If anybody\u2019s allowed to cross, because we have sympathy for \u2019em, and then we turn over military bases to house them, and then under cover of darkness or some other way we then start distributing them to families and sponsors all over the country?  We make no effort to reunite them with their real moms and dads? <\/p>\n<p>The upshot is, what border?  It doesn\u2019t matter that we have a border.  It doesn\u2019t mean anything.  Crossing the border illegally is not even something that anybody wants to object to here?  What I would say to Bernadette Lancelin is, &#8220;Well, I tell you what, Bernadette, the things that have you upset, if you want more of it, just keep voting Democrat.  That\u2019s what you\u2019re going to get.  If you want more illegals, vote Democrat.  If you want the border to mean less and less, vote Democrat.  If you want your government spending more and more money on people who are not citizens of this country yet, vote Democrat.  If you want what\u2019s happening at the border to become an everyday event, vote Democrat.  If you want higher taxes; if you want less opportunity; if you want your gasoline to cost more; if you want your grocery bills to go up\u2019 if you want your job opportunities to cease to exist; if you want your utility bills to go up, elect Democrats.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p><img id=\"eZObject_93234\" class=\"aligncenter\" align=\"middle\" src=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/ImmigrationBorderPatrolPIX.jpg\"\/><BR\/>I don\u2019t know why the Republicans can\u2019t say this.  I do know why the Republicans are not making a big deal out of this, the border, because they want amnesty.  We know this.  The Chamber of Commerce is holding \u2019em hostage.  This Tom Donohue guy that runs the Chamber of Commerce has basically told them if they don\u2019t do amnesty they may as well not even nominate a presidential candidate for 2016, because there isn\u2019t a Republican that\u2019s gonna get a dime of donor money if they don\u2019t do amnesty.  And make no mistake, money is the primary influence in politics. <\/line><\/p>\n<p>But this is the larger question that Chris really raised when he wanted to know why the Republicans aren\u2019t seizing the opportunity to make something out of this rant by Bernadette Lancelin.  The larger question is, why aren\u2019t the Republicans using this to prove the need to secure the border?  Why aren\u2019t the Republicans seeking a political advantage in this issue by drawing a distinction between themselves and the Democrats?  That question is something, ladies and gentlemen, that we\u2019ve been asking ever since Obama came into office. <\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ve never had a greater opportunity in the last six years to contrast who we are with the extremes of liberalism.  This is it.  We don\u2019t have to tell people any longer what will happen if these people end up with unchecked power.  Twenty-five years of this program, and I\u2019ve been warning people what\u2019s gonna happen if liberals win here and win there, what we\u2019re gonna get.  It\u2019s no longer a warning.  We are living it.  And as such, no greater opportunity to draw the distinction, to contrast ourselves to the Democrats.  But there isn\u2019t any of that happening.  And it is an election year. <\/p>\n<p><img id=\"eZObject_93243\" class=\"alignright\" align=\"right\" src=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/ObamaImmigrationCBS_large.jpg\"\/><BR\/>We\u2019re not that far out from November.  Hell, we\u2019re gonna have new iPhones in just a couple of months, and the election\u2019s right after that.  Well, maybe a new iWatch.  But, you know, Snerdley, why do I want to wear something on my wrist that tells me I\u2019m out of shape?  I already know this.  They talk about this iWatch that\u2019s gonna have a bunch of sensors in it tell you all of your health stats.  I don\u2019t need to be told I weigh too much.  I don\u2019t need to be told I\u2019m not walking enough steps. I don\u2019t need to be told I\u2019m drinking too much caffeine. <\/line><\/p>\n<p>Why do I want to buy something that\u2019s gonna nag me that I wear on my wrist?  (interruption)  Maybe it\u2019ll motivate me?  Ha!  Something you can take off and put in a drawer is gonna motivate me?  Fat chance.  But Apple is making a bet that everybody\u2019s hot to trot on health, so it\u2019s probably a good bet for them, but I, frankly, don\u2019t want to be reminded of this stuff.  All I have to do is look in the mirror and I know.  I don\u2019t need to buy a watch. <\/p>\n<p>Anyway, I\u2019m sorry for the diversion there.  The point is he raises a great question.  And the opportunity, like I just said, you want higher taxes, Bernadette, keep voting the way you\u2019ve been voting.  You want higher energy prices, you want higher utility bills, you want fewer job opportunities, you want no border to exist at all?  Keep voting Democrat.  There\u2019s a reason this stuff is happening.  This is not just coincidental.  All of what\u2019s happening in this country right now is directly traceable to government policy, pure and simple.  <\/p>\n<p>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  Right here we go. I care about what\u2019s going on right here in my own backyard, my neighborhood.  Am I the only one in this community that\u2019s out here that watches the news (bleep) every morning?  Oh, my God.  I feel alone right now in this.  And I\u2019m very saddened by it.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  By the way, folks, I have to tell you, her instincts are right on the money.  When she says, &#8220;Look, I\u2019m sorry that their parents are in poor living conditions or surroundings or whatever is going on out there, I don\u2019t care. I care about what\u2019s going on right here in my own backyard.&#8221; She\u2019s basically saying, &#8220;Look, we can\u2019t fix everybody. It\u2019s not our role.  Somebody\u2019s gotta take care of themselves here.  We\u2019re taking care of ourselves, we\u2019re doing everything.&#8221;  That\u2019s what her point is.  And she\u2019s right on the money.  We\u2019re handcuffing ourselves with this whole idea that we\u2019ve got to just let every value and tradition we hold dear crumble in order to be nice.  It doesn\u2019t work that way.  I want you to listen to this again.
