RUSH: Here\u2019s Brian in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, go back to the phones and the Rush Limbaugh program. Hi, Brian.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hi, Rush. Longtime listener since 1992. I really appreciate your show.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you, sir.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I love everything you say, and I think America\u2019s chance to hear what really goes on in politics really comes from this program. Now, I am looking at a news report here showing that there\u2019s been some developments in cases filed by private citizens against the IRS with regard to this scandal of targeting people not to get tax-exempt status. <\/p>\n

And, you know, when we talk about people who want to struggle against what they see as being incorrect about this administration, you see members of Congress trying to get together and fight it legislatively and battle that way. We see — and I hear you say it on your show all the time — that that just doesn\u2019t work. We can\u2019t win that way. They\u2019re beating us that way. <\/p>\n

Some of it\u2019s because of the tactics that the Republicans use. But what I want to talk about here is these cases that are filed by private citizens. It just seems to me that even there, it\u2019s going to be hopeless. The orders that were issued recently are directing the IRS to produce certain things<\/a> — and I haven\u2019t read the orders, by the way, but I just see that they were issued.<\/p>\n

<\/a>RUSH: Now, don\u2019t be impatient. These are federal judges. This is a different bailiwick than members of Congress who could chicken out or cave. These are some really severe law-and-order judges, especially Emmett Sullivan. This guy is no nonsense. He\u2019s demanding that the IRS swear under oath about all this stuff, and the Republican Congress has just proposed denying the IRS billions of dollars in enforcement money — meaning audits.<\/p>\n

So there are some things being done. <\/p>\n

I know all of this looks like a long shot to actually gain ground on this and see to it that people who have committed crimes — or transgressions that may not reach criminal status, but just illegally targeting and politically harassing opponents of the Regime — are held accountable. (sigh) The future is simply unknown, and we can\u2019t predict what\u2019s gonna happen. I\u2019ll tell you what I rely on a lot, and it\u2019s nothing that you can really put any value on, and you can\u2019t count on it. <\/p>\n

You can\u2019t count on it but I rely on it a lot to get me through, and that\u2019s faith. I just have faith that America is gonna triumph at some point. I don\u2019t know how that\u2019s gonna manifest, and I don\u2019t mean that to say sit around and do nothing. You note I\u2019m not retiring here. I\u2019m not saying sit around and do nothing and just let events take place. You have to push, you have to pressure, and I think there are enough people who are. I have faith that we\u2019re gonna triumph, that we\u2019re gonna save it. I wish I could offer you more specifics.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, you know, I share your belief. I also have that faith. But when I look at an order that says that the IRS hasn\u2019t produced things, what\u2019s the penalty if they don\u2019t? See, the transgression already occurred in the past. The people who wanted to use their free speech rights to say something to make an impact on the election, were punished.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I know. That\u2019s a good question. If the judge doesn\u2019t get what he wants, who pays? I don\u2019t know. We\u2019ll have to see what the judge does. That\u2019s part of having faith. And this judge is a no-nonsense guy, from everything I\u2019ve been able to gather about him. There are actually two or three judges now that are demanding — this IRS thing\u2019s off the charts. All the e-mails lost, servers crashed. <\/p>\n

These things take a lot of time to rectify themselves, and people get away with a lot. They always have. I can\u2019t answer your question. I don\u2019t know what\u2019s gonna happen. I don\u2019t know how this is gonna manifest. I don\u2019t know what the judge is gonna do and all that. But I am eager to see, and I\u2019m prepared for anything. Don\u2019t give up, Brian. Just hang in there. Don\u2019t give up. Keep your stiff upper lip. <\/p>\n
