RUSH: Holy cow, folks. Have you seen the news? A Malaysian Airlines flight has been shot down by a missile over Ukraine<\/a>, at least according to an advisory to Ukraine\u2019s interior ministry. The Interfax News Agency — which has nothing to do with fax machines. It\u2019s what the Soviets used to call their news agency, Interfax. You didn\u2019t know that, did you?<\/p>\n

They even had a hotel chain called Interfax and everybody thought, “What? Is it fax machines?” and it had nothing to do with that. Anyway, it\u2019s a Malaysian Airlines jet. You know, I\u2019ve got the British Open on to the top monitor. I haven\u2019t had CNN on all day. What do you bet they have broomed everything and are covering wall-to-wall the Malaysian Airlines flight shot down by a missile? <\/line><\/p>\n

I mean, you talk about… I don\u2019t want to appear to be callous here, folks, but you talk about an opportunity to abandon the Obama news at the border? And, no, I\u2019m not suggesting anything other than how the media operates. Anyway, it\u2019s eerie. It is really eerie. A Malaysian airliner. It was on the way to Kuala Lumpur. Why would it be shot down? Over Ukraine? It was shot down by a missile. <\/p>\n

This would lead one to believe that it is not an accident. It carried 295 people, and obviously there are no survivors. <\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: This is Samuel in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. Thank you for calling. It\u2019s great to have you here. Hi.<\/p>\n

CALLER: (badly muffled) Hey, Rush, or may I say “Mister Big.”<\/p>\n

RUSH: Mister Big, yes. I\u2019m the Mister Big of the vast right-wing conspiracy.<\/p>\n

CALLER: This Malaysian airliner being shot down will be a pretext for Putin to invade the Ukraine.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Explain.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, he could give the missiles to some of his thug over in the Ukraine. They\u2019ll fire one off and shoot down the airliner over Ukrainian territory. Who gets the blame? Ukrainians. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh. Oh, I see. Are you in a hurricane out there?<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, sir.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Is the wind bad? So your theory is that Putin gave a missile to his associates, who bring down innocent, harmless commercial airliner that is blamed on Putin\u2019s enemies, correct? That\u2019s the key to this.<\/line><\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Which then green lights Putin to go in and take out these bad, mean people that shoot down innocent commercial airliners, right?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Perfect straw dog, yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I see. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Just a thought.<\/p>\n

RUSH: It could well be. Whenever someone dies or is near death, Fox News brings out Geraldo. That has happened. The Grim Reaper appeared moments ago on Fox to discuss this. He was asked by Harris Faulkner… I don\u2019t quote Harris Faulkner. I\u2019m not given to quoting Harris Faulkner, but don\u2019t hold it against me here. <\/p>\n

She said, “It was flying at 34,000 feet, and if you want to think about it this way, a surface-to-air missile probably wouldn\u2019t be able to take out a plane that far away. So what might it have been? That\u2019s what they\u2019re looking at. What about it,” Grim Reaper?<\/p>\n

GRIM REAPER: Vladimir Putin has the blood of these airline passengers on his hands. The Russian leader has been supplying increasingly sophisticated weaponry to the pro-Russian, anti-Ukraine activists in eastern Ukraine. I believe, as I sit here today, that what happened is Russia supplied that weapon system so that those rebels could shoot down Ukrainian helicopters and Ukrainian warplanes attacking them, and they saw this aircraft in the sky. These undisciplined pro-Russian Ukrainian rebels shot down that innocent passenger jet, I believe.<\/p>\n

RUSH: All right, it was Harris Faulkner. Don\u2019t blame me. Dhe was there. I couldn\u2019t avoid it. I don\u2019t quote her much. But she had to move in and stop Geraldo. But Geraldo is basically saying the same thing our first caller or second caller said here, that this is a attack that Putin actually engineered to make it look like his enemies brought this plane down, thereby giving him credibility to go in and take out his enemies by blaming this on them. <\/p>\n

If you\u2019re having trouble following, that\u2019s what the Grim Reaper\u2019s point was. But I\u2019ll tell you: Regardless, it\u2019s an innocent commercial airliner that in no way can be perceived as anything offensive or militaristic. It was shot down out of the sky by somebody, and there is a reason for it. It didn\u2019t just happen. I mean, it wasn\u2019t as though somebody ended up with their finger on a button over there and just accidentally pushed it. <\/p>\n

So there is a lot to learn about this. <\/p>\n

RUSH: It was Vladimir Putin who called Obama and told him that the Malaysian Airlines jet had been shot down. Now, Putin was scheduled to call anyway. He was calling Obama about sanctions, US sanctions on Russia. The call was therefore scheduled before the plane was shot down. The AP is claiming that Putin is who informed Obama. So I had some people asking me earlier today if they thought Obama apologized to Putin for the plane being shot down. <\/p>\n
