RUSH: I checked the e-mail during the break, and somebody said, “What do you mean, pay attention to way they deal with Ebola as an indication of amnesty?” Well, let me make it very simple for you, folks. Ebola is the biggest obstacle<\/a> to amnesty right now. Ebola spreading is going to put pressure on the Regime to really control the borders, really control who gets in here, and that can\u2019t be allowed to happen, folks, it just can\u2019t. We can\u2019t have any additional pressure to close the border to protect people from Ebola. <\/p>\n

How do we do that? Well, I don\u2019t know, but here\u2019s a possibility. Just keep a sharp eye and see if it happens, that the media and others try to make a martyr out of Thomas Duncan, the first Ebola death in America. The man from Liberia that got on a plane there in Monrovia and came here — you know the story — went to the ER, sent home with antibiotics. He told them he had spent time in Liberia.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s made to order now for the Drive-By Media to devote themselves to convincing us that Duncan died because of racism, because of bigotry, because he was from a foreign country, his family are illegals, African-American, every requirement for the Drive-By Media to accuse this country of being bigoted and racist. And then we\u2019ll hear, “This is what happens when people are forced to live in the shadows. They\u2019re afraid to come out and get treatment because maybe they won\u2019t be treated, and maybe they\u2019ll just die anyway.” <\/line><\/p>\n

And then they\u2019ll say, if it wasn\u2019t for our ignorance — ignorance is always a factor in bigotry, it\u2019s a magic word — if it wasn\u2019t for our ignorance and our nativism, Thomas Duncan might well be alive today. And we have to make sure that others like him are not afraid to come forward. It\u2019s in our nation\u2019s best interests. It\u2019s a matter of public safety, and it\u2019s about who we are as a people. It\u2019s about putting our better angels in the forefront. Just see. Just see how long it takes. <\/p>\n

I may be wrong. We may hear nothing like that. But if we do, if you hear any version of that, what you must conclude is the effort is being made to make sure that no matter what, we do not close the border. The border must stay open so that more can get treatment and not succumb like poor Thomas Duncan did. We must set aside our fear, our bigotry, and our ignorance and not allow our lesser angels to dominate and blah, blah, blah. Give it a couple of days, three days, see what happens.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hi, Rush. I\u2019m actually in Memphis, but I\u2019m calling in response to Gary that called you yesterday<\/a> and told you that you were fearmongering. I got so outraged over that, it just flew all over me. It\u2019s time that common sense took hold of everybody. It just made me want to slap all these people and say, “Snap out of it!” The low-information voters have got to wake up, because we do need to afraid of Ebola, and we need to be afraid this enterovirus. It\u2019s not just affecting children. Adults have died, too, but the news media isn\u2019t talking about that. They\u2019re not talking about the resurgence of TB. That paramedic that called you yesterday, he was talking about how he got exposed to TB.<\/p>\n

<\/a>RUSH: Right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: We eradicated all of these illnesses. We had conquered TB in this country and Measles and Whooping Cough and Scarlet Fever and all these diseases, and now they\u2019re popping back up. We have all these illegals that are coming into this country. They\u2019re not vaccinated, and they\u2019re forced into the schools. The schools have to take \u2019em. We just move to Tennessee. My son had to have a physical before he could be admitted to the school. <\/p>\n

They\u2019re not requiring that of these illegals, and it\u2019s frustrating. One of my friends heard on the news last week about Ebola. His daughter was with him, she\u2019s eight, and she asked what Ebola was \u2019cause she heard him talking about it and how the man who come in this country and all this. So he sat her down and he explained to her what it was, and she said, “Well, Daddy, the way you stop it is you don\u2019t let those people come in this country.”<\/p>\n

RUSH: Ahhhhh, yes.<\/p>\n

CALLER: She gets it.<\/p>\n

RUSH: But, see, that\u2019s mean. Now Suzanne, everything you said\u2019s right on the money, including that, and that is exactly why it won\u2019t be said. By stopping, by not permitting people to come in the country you\u2019ve just undercut one of Obama\u2019s big sales pitches for the election. That\u2019s the Hispanic vote. If you say or do anything that would cause even more people to oppose amnesty than already do, it\u2019s not acceptable.<\/p>\n

Politics is overriding this, and I\u2019m gonna real eager to see if I\u2019m prediction about the way the death of Thomas Duncan\u2019s dealt with comes true, how long it takes. But I appreciate your call. A guy called yesterday and told me that we laypeople need to just shut up and leave it to the experts. Anything else is fearmongering.<\/p>\n

She\u2019s saying, “You know what? That\u2019s silly. We all need to snap out of it. Common sense is common sense.” You don\u2019t need a Harvard degree or anything to have common sense, and people who have common sense need to speak up, including low-information crowd.
