CALLER: Hello, Rush. It\u2019s nice to talk to you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you, sir, very much.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I called you three times, and I\u2019ve gotten through to you three times. Must be magical between you and I. I\u2019m very concerned, Rush. First of all, you\u2019re always right, and I really don\u2019t like that. It\u2019s like you\u2019re in my head sometimes when you say things. But you said something that everybody should listen to and remember. We have a president who does not care about the law.<\/line><\/p>\n

This country has faced many, many evil things over the years, but right now the next two years are gonna be very dangerous, Rush. ‘Cause this man will do anything to further his agenda. He will do anything to make this country a second-rate country. I\u2019ve listened to him. I\u2019ve even tried to like him. But I just can\u2019t, and I don\u2019t trust him at all. You\u2019re absolutely correct. He\u2019s a dangerous individual, and he\u2019s much more dangerous, I think, than the Republicans realize.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, I think he\u2019s more dangerous than most people realize. I don\u2019t think people — and you can\u2019t blame \u2019em — I don\u2019t think very many people stop to think about how precariously balanced America is every day anyway. Think about something. We were founded over 200-plus years ago, and when you get down to brass tacks, this is the first man who has attempted to pretend the Constitution isn\u2019t there. The precarious balance can be called the honor system. We have a Constitution. For all of these years it has been respected as though it is a rock, it is unalterable.<\/p>\n

Now, there are people that don\u2019t like it, and they\u2019ve blown through it, the Second Amendment types, and we know the battles that have been fought, but we\u2019ve never had somebody pretend it isn\u2019t there. The Constitution itself has always been the backstop. How precarious a balance is that for a country? There are constitutional remedies if somebody does what Obama does, but the Republican Party\u2019s taken them off the table. So the only thing that keeps the Constitution relevant and meaningful is Barack Obama\u2019s willingness to honor it. And if he chooses not to, then what? And that\u2019s what he\u2019s demonstrated that he\u2019s perfectly willing to do. He\u2019s already done that. He\u2019s promising to continue.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
