I want to submit an idea to the Speaker on how to proceed, and I\u2019m serious about this. I\u2019m sure we\u2019re gonna get bills, legislation, sent up to the White House. I would like for something to accompany each bill. A press conference. A press conference to announce the passage of the bill that includes a letter to the president attached to the bill.<\/p>\n<p><BR\/>Read the letter.<\/line><img id=\"eZObject_98404\" class=\"aligncenter\" align=\"middle\" src=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/RushBoehnerObamaLEtter.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The letter should contain polling information demonstrating, it\u2019s not just a bill from the Republicans. It is a bill that has the support of the American people. Come up with a piece of legislation, poll the American people on it: 60% say oppose amnesty, 70%. Attach that fact to the bill, do a press conference, and attach public opinion to the public submission &#8212; not just to the president, but to the country &#8212; of the piece of legislation to let people know that country overwhelmingly favors it.<\/p>\n<p>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Now, Boehner is gonna do his press conference, and I want to expand on something. I got an idea. It\u2019s not a new one. It\u2019s been done before. There will be legislation. In fact, part of stopping Obama is gonna be sending him stuff that we would hope he would sign. He won\u2019t, he\u2019ll veto it. So there will be stuff getting done, but they will be working, they will be coming up with legislation, for those of you who think that\u2019s important. But here\u2019s what I think they ought to do. With every bill the House and Senate come up with that they send to Obama, it must be a package, and the package that\u2019s sent to Obama contains the actual legislation and a letter and polling data.<\/p>\n<p>If you remember, the Contract with America back in 1994, that campaign, one of the promises made in the Contract with America: only legislation that featured 60% support or more of the American people would be passed. It was part of the promise to do the work of the American people, to govern with the will of the American people. The Republicans running for Congress in \u201994 promised they would not govern against the will of the people, because the Democrats were and always have. They\u2019ve been doing that more than ever in the past six years.<\/p>\n<p>Virtually everything that\u2019s happened has been against the will of the American people. Amnesty, Obamacare, it\u2019s never had the majority support. So what I think Boehner ought to do, give himself some cover. You know, these guys are looking for cover anyway. So you come up with whatever your legislation, say it\u2019s repeal part of Obamacare, whatever it is, repeal the medical device tax. Fine.<\/p>\n<p>Send it up there and accompany it with a letter from McConnell and Boehner to President Obama complete with polling data showing this is supported by the American people by whatever percentage the poll says and then publicize it, release it. &#8220;Today we sent legislation up to President Obama in our effort to get along and our effort to get something done and our effort to compromise,&#8221; whatever gobbledygook you want to say, and then include the fact that 60, 65, 67% of the American people support this and want this, and then make Obama react to it.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;But, Mr. Limbaugh, Obama will say he doesn\u2019t care because that means two-thirds didn\u2019t, and he\u2019s got to stand for all Americans.&#8221; Doesn\u2019t matter what he does, what you do is what matters. His reaction, we know he\u2019s gonna veto it anyway. The point of this is not for Obama. You assemble this package, this bill and the letter and the polling data for public consumption, so that the public knows what Obama is doing when Obama vetoes something. It\u2019s not a War on Women bill. It\u2019s not something the Democrats and the media lie about and concoct. You submit the bill, a letter explaining it complete with polling data showing massive public support, release that so that the American people know what Obama is vetoing.<\/p>\n<p>So the American people know what Obama and the Democrats oppose, thereby putting gridlock on their shoulders. Thereby putting opposition to getting things done on their shoulders. Thereby making them the obstructionists. The Republicans are simply representing the will of the people. The people want the medical device tax removed. Here\u2019s a piece of legislation that will do it. Sign it, Mr. President. (Obama impression) &#8220;Hell, no, screw you, and Michael Jordan, too.&#8221; Vetoes it, case closed.<\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s so hard about this? Not even confrontational. It is a great idea. That\u2019s not confrontational. There\u2019s no racism in it. There\u2019s no bigotry. There\u2019s no homophobia. There\u2019s no sexism. There\u2019s no War on Women in it. It would go a long way to rebranding the party, all kinds of things to recommend it.<\/p>\n<p>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: I just checked a little bit of the Boehner press conference. You know, it\u2019s good to know that journalists still know how to be impolite and ask adversarial questions. I thought maybe they\u2019d forgotten how to do it, \u2019cause they haven\u2019t done it in six years. But clearly they know how to be rude and ask adversarial questions. They just did it with Boehner.<\/p>\n<p>He just finished. I don\u2019t need any sound bites from it.
