CALLER: (laughing) San Francisco loves you, I\u2019m proof of it.<\/p>\n

RUSH: (laughing) I know parts of it do. Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m a big fan.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I appreciate it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: You want me to tell my story?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Of course I do. Yes. I know you didn\u2019t call just to hang up.<\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughing) Well, I\u2019m a Silicon Valley entrepreneur, Rush, and I think the government should get out of the way and let —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Really? What do you do?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, right now I\u2019m vice president of a software company, but this wasn\u2019t why I called per se when I talked to your handler, but I actually just did a book called “I am SuperScooter the Invincible Horse,” a book for all the freedom loving creatures in the world.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, cool.<\/p>\n

CALLER: So I had to laugh, cause people say, “Have you heard about Liberty?” I said, “Of course, I think Liberty is awesome, and I think freedom is awesome.” And that was the reason that I did the book, was to inspire the next generation of people, the kids. And that\u2019s why I think your book is so important. So, you know, my book, if you go to the superscooter.me, you can find my book.<\/p>\n

RUSH: All right. But you do software in Silicon Valley?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I do, I\u2019ve cofounded and sold a couple of small software companies, and when you want to start a company today you have to pay $600 just to register the company.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right. Oh, I know.<\/p>\n

CALLER: With Obamacare there are issues around, you know, what you have provide your employees. So the government\u2019s kind of messing things up and we have these amazing innovators and amazing entrepreneurs that want to do stuff. I got so frustrated I actually considered running for Congress this last round, but decided to do the book instead.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, good for you. Well, but that\u2019s not why you called.<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, it\u2019s not why I called. The reason I called is that I was at a banker\u2019s conference last week in our nation\u2019s capital, Washington, DC, and they had this amazing speaker named <\/line><\/a>Jason Redman, who just came out with a book called “The Trident.”<\/a> Jay had gotten half his face blown off in Afghanistan, and he came back and became a motivational speaker and a writer. And he told the audience about, you know, overcoming all, hard work, freedom, all the principles that you hold so dear and I hold so dear.<\/line><\/p>\n

And what really amazed me and was so inspiring was that he mentioned the American spirit, and so I started clapping very enthusiastically, and then everybody else joined in, and ultimately Jay Redman received a standing ovation. And, you know, I think that there\u2019s so much to be hopeful for. You know, you see what\u2019s happened in the election, and you think, people are sick and tired of the government getting in the way, and the American spirit is alive and well. And so I think we need to nurture it. We need to teach the younger people what\u2019s important, love and kindness, never giving up, hard work, all the things that you talk about. But, you know, Jay Redman is a true American hero. He\u2019s a Navy SEAL and he\u2019s walking the walk and talking the talk.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And this was at a banking conference in Washington? He was there as a motivational speaker?<\/p>\n

CALLER: He was. And, you know, there were several hundred people there, and people received him very well. People want to hear —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, gosh, I would hope so. He did get a standing ovation, you say?<\/p>\n

CALLER: He did. He got a standing ovation, yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Now, look at what she\u2019s saying. Here\u2019s an authoress, she is a software writer in Silicon Valley, and there are a lot of women that are getting into that, by the way, it\u2019s cool. And she\u2019s at a banking conference, and here\u2019s a Navy SEAL with grave injuries, as a motivational speaker, and he gets a standing O. And we have been — when I say “we,” I mean you and I, the collective, you and I in the audience here, everybody, we have been looking for a sign for how long, a tipping point maybe, that we haven\u2019t lost the country.<\/p>\n

I think the election, if you want to take some positive things from it that maybe we haven\u2019t discussed yet, this election is a very positive sign, \u2019cause there\u2019s no way that this can be interpreted as anything other than people standing up and saying “no.” And I don\u2019t care that two-thirds didn\u2019t vote. They don\u2019t count. If people want to go try to get them in the next election, fine and dandy. But the people that voted, they\u2019re the ones that made the difference. They\u2019re the ones that cared enough to show up. They\u2019re the ones that had the emotion, the passion, the desire. They went out and did it. And they spoke loudly. And they did stand up and they said, “No more of this.”<\/p>\n

I think a lot of us — well, I\u2019ll speak for myself. I know a lot of you have the same fear. We\u2019ve been wondering for how long here, we kept hearing about how overwhelmingly popular Obama was and the media keeps telling us how popular the Democrats are and the pop culture makes fun of everything we hold dear, and so we wonder have we lost the country? We see the deteriorating rot in our culture, we wonder, have we lost the country? In terms of just values and morality, have we lost the country? And we looked for signs that say, “No, we haven\u2019t.” And we didn\u2019t see very many. I mean, if you looked hard you could see an example here or there, but there wasn\u2019t a national expression or sign.<\/p>\n

And the election may prove to be it. And I think, for me, it is. And I\u2019ve always, when people have called here and asked me about how do I stay optimistic and all that, my answer is always rooted in a theme. I can\u2019t oftentimes tell you why, I don\u2019t know, but I just have this implicit trust in the ultimate judgment of the American people, that at some point the American people are going to get it right. And they do. But then they get it wrong sometimes later.<\/p>\n

But they do get it right. And there is no question that the people in this country who showed up and voted don\u2019t want anymore of this that is coming from the Democrat Party, Obama and the agenda, they don\u2019t want any more. That is an upper. That is a big, positive sign. It\u2019s a great indication that, among the people willing to do something about it, we haven\u2019t lost the country. And so she goes to a banking conference, sees this SEAL get a standing O from a bunch of bankers, and she thinks she sees a reemerging in the American spirit. And I hope that\u2019s exactly what\u2019s happening.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
