RUSH: You want to know how bad it is for the Democrats right now? Even Willie Brown, da mayor, former mayor of San Francisco, in a column over the weekend, said Hillary Clinton is going to lose. Da Speaker has a column in the San Francisco Chronicle, and he wrote that Hillary Clinton\u2019s gonna lose. He said, “Everybody keeps asking me, ‘Why did this happen?\u2019 Beats me. When it came to the elections, I was a dreamer who thought the Democrats were going to retain the Senate. Instead, we got walloped.”<\/p>\n

And he said the big mistake that the Democrats made was “running away from President Barack Obama, ‘which simply played into the Republicans\u00c2\u2019 strategy of portraying him as a failure.\u2019 The party also failed to turn out young voters,” he said.<\/p>\n

No, we weren\u2019t making anything up. Obama is a failure. No, see, even have to qualify that. In his own mind, in terms of what Obama really wants to do, he\u2019s not a failure at all, folks. Obama is in the midst of overwhelming success. In terms of what he wants to do, what his agenda has always been, he\u2019s in the midst of overwhelming success. <\/p>\n

<\/a>He\u2019s out there saying he didn\u2019t sell it well enough. Oh, that\u2019s another. Let me find this. I think I put it on the bottom of the Stack thinking I wasn\u2019t gonna get to it, mention it, but now you\u2019ve reminded me. I\u2019ve got to mention this. He says he didn\u2019t sell it well enough. This is all smoke and mirrors. The bottom line is don\u2019t forget the quote that we had from Jonathan Grube<\/a>r who admitted they had to lie to the American people about Obamacare in order for it to pass because the American people are too stupid to understand what\u2019s good for \u2019em. <\/p>\n

So Obama, when he says he\u2019s gotta do a better job of selling, no, that\u2019s just smoke and mirrors. He\u2019s saying what he thinks other Democrats and the media want him to say. He doesn\u2019t have to sell it. Obama\u2019s not in sales. Do you think authoritarian figures wait for public approval to do what they want to do? He\u2019s not worried about making a sale on anything here. That\u2019s so crucial to understand. He\u2019s not a salesman. He doesn\u2019t need a better pitch or a more believable pitch or whatever. <\/p>\n
