\"Listen<\/a><\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019m Rush Limbaugh, not speaking as quickly as Jonathan Gruber does, but I could if I wanted to, \u2019cause I\u2019m excited here. I\u2019m very thrilled with the work we do on this program and bringing you truth and helping you to wade through this intricately woven web of deceit and lying and conniving that has been the hallmark of the Obama administration. <\/p>\n

In fact, it\u2019s the hallmark of liberalism. <\/p>\n

It is, in fact, the hallmark of liberalism: Deceit. It\u2019s the only way they can secure support. That and one false premise after another: The false premises of compassion, caring about the downtrodden, caring about the little guy. All the while, by Gruber\u2019s own admission (paraphrased), “We\u2019re gonna screw the little guy! Oh, yeah, we\u2019re gonna make people think the insurance companies are paying the tax.<\/line><\/p>\n

“But they\u2019re gonna pay it. We know we wouldn\u2019t get elected if we told \u2019em that. We have to rely on their economic stupidity, the general stupidity of the American people. We lied, and we realize we\u2019ve made them hate insurance companies so we can blame them,” and they have. The Democrat Party\u2019s Enemies List is pretty much anything that\u2019s a success story in the free enterprise economy. <\/p>\n

Let me ask you a quick question here — again, trying to make a point. Why is Big Oil bad? Why do you think there is this instinctive hatred for Big Oil within the Democrat Party, communism, socialism, the American left? If you think that it\u2019s pollution, you are only partially correct. (interruption) Well, it\u2019s highly profitable, but that doesn\u2019t explain it, either. <\/p>\n

You see, the reason Big Oil is hated is because Big Oil profits off something everybody needs. To the leftist, oil should be free. You need it! You need it to get around. You need it to stay alive. You need it to cook food. They are profoundly offended that anybody makes money in oil, and I\u2019m gonna reissue a warning to you, because the telltale signs are there. <\/p>\n

That same approach is already underway and will continue to intensify against doctors. The left is already subtly making the point. But as time goes on, they\u2019ll become even more brazen and they will openly question: “Why should somebody who heals get rich? Why should somebody who makes somebody well — which you ought to do from the goodness of your compassionate heart for nothing!<\/p>\n

“Why should that person be richer than anybody else in our society, on average? Why should doctors get paid to make people well? Why should oil companies make all this money providing something that people need? It\u2019s not fair! It\u2019s not right!” Liberals — and the more you spend time around \u2019em, the more you realize this. (chuckles) They really do think everything should be “fair.” <\/p>\n

<\/a>The reason they\u2019re all caught up in net neutrality<\/a> is that they think the big Internet providers, the big cable companies are gonna get nailed. They are relying on the government to go in there and punish AT&T and Verizon and Comcast and the cable companies and the phone companies, \u2019cause they hate \u2019em. It ought to be free, or at least it ought to be quote\/unquote affordable.<\/p>\n

“You ought not have to earn a lot of money to be able to go on the Internet. You ought not have to earn a lot of money to drive a car.” This is what animates them, and then they get talking about fairness and unfairness and profit is evil and so forth. What it takes to get oil out of the ground and refined into usable substances is irrelevant. Whatever it takes, that should be done for the good of society, for the good of the people, because it\u2019s needed. <\/p>\n

And then when we go to war for it, “Why, why, that\u2019s — that\u2019s blood for oil! That\u2019s blood for profits, like for Cheney, and like Halliburton,” and they get irrational in their hatred for it. And it truly is irrational. So that\u2019s why Big Oil is bad. But at the same time, have you noticed it\u2019s okay with the same people when the government forces price increases on insurance companies? <\/p>\n

I mean, here\u2019s Gruber out there, and he\u2019s bragging about all these taxes that they\u2019re levying on the insurance companies which are driving prices up, and the same people bitching and moaning about the price of oil celebrate increased costs on insurance and insurance companies. Now, here\u2019s the difference. and this is what I find fascinating. The free enterprise economy is responsible for the cost of oil. <\/p>\n

Now, I know that there are many conspiracy theorists, some even at Fox News who believe that there is some guy behind a curtain who decides what the price of gasoline\u2019s gonna be and gets away with manipulating it and changing it. There are people at Fox who have been trying to find that guy, and it\u2019s not just at Fox.<\/p>\n

There are a number of people that think the price of oil is not related to any market force at all, that some evil oil company or conglomerate is setting the price of gasoline for evil profits to take advantage of people, blah, blah, blah, blah. But it\u2019s market forces. There are so many market forces, you could not conspire to control them all. In fact, last I looked, isn\u2019t the price of gasoline kind of going down?<\/line><\/p>\n

Isn\u2019t the price of gasoline going down and isn\u2019t the price of oil getting dangerously low for some economic reason? Well, now, how can that be? I mean, if the conspiracy exists to soak people and to screw people and to take their money from them for something everybody needs, how in the world can the gasoline price be going down now? Ditto the oil price per barrel. <\/p>\n

Health insurance is skyrocketing. <\/p>\n

The oil price is coming down. <\/p>\n

Health insurance and everything about it is just ballooning out of sight. The price of oil is being determined by the free market economy, and the price of insurance is being determined by Barack Obama and Jonathan Gruber right now. Now, you tell me, are these liberals not cockeyed or what? <\/p>\n

They take a look at the free market economy and they flinch and they get their faces all scrunched up with hatred and disgust. And then when the government comes in and takes over something and the price skyrockets, they applaud it. They think it\u2019s wonderful. So when government results in increased prices, for some reason we celebrate that. At the same time, the left will use temporary market fluctuations as an excuse to seize control over energy companies.<\/p>\n

“Because the government will come in! The government will come in and make the pricing fair, and when BP has an oil spill in the Gulf, it\u2019s a perfect opportunity to take \u2019em over, a perfect opportunity really punish \u2019em, a perfect opportunity scorch \u2019em, a perfect opportunity to just really let \u2019em know how much we hate \u2019em.” Temporary market forces cause prices to go up and the left panics, demands government goes in and do something. <\/p>\n

When the government comes in and does something, it\u2019s guaranteed what\u2019s gonna happen: The price is gonna skyrocket. They never complain. Oh, they might complain about high prices, but they will never, ever have the vitriol for the incompetence and the genuine conspiracies that exist at government to confound the manipulations or the variations of the free market. <\/p>\n

You see, markets are self-correcting. Markets respond to laws of supply and demand and the will of the people. If we\u2019ve learned anything during the Obama presidency, he doesn\u2019t give a damn about the will of anyone, and therefore it doesn\u2019t matter — and of course, Obama is not self-correcting, because he doesn\u2019t have the humility to ever understand when he\u2019s done something wrong. <\/p>\n

Obama\u2019s not interested in the consent of the governed or working with anybody because he knows in an honest contest he would never have been granted the consent of the governed. Obama and Gruber know that had they been honest from day one about what their intentions were and how they intended to go about them, they would never have won the election in 2008. So why should they ever have anything but disdain for the American people. He\u2019s got his agenda and it doesn\u2019t matter, Constitution, free markets, will of the people be damned. <\/p>\n

And when whatever he does causes the price of things to skyrocket and causes scarcity, leftists who genuinely generally hate those kind of things end up applauding, because, in their perverted eyes, government can never do anything wrong. You know why? Because at least government\u2019s intentions are honorable. But in a free market, Big Oil, they don\u2019t care about anybody. They want to screw everybody. All they care about is profit. But Pelosi and Reid, why, they\u2019re trying to help people, at least they\u2019re trying to help people. <\/p>\n

Yeah, well, how did it work out for \u2019em? Well, doesn\u2019t matter how it worked out. You\u2019re not supposed to look at that. You\u2019re supposed to examine their good intentions. So we\u2019ve bred and raised how many generations of literal blithering idiots who are 180 degrees out of phase wrong about many things that matter. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
