Right on time, right on time, when it can\u2019t do any good, <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.wsj.com\/washwire\/2014\/12\/04\/politics-counts-shutdowns-political-damage-may-be-overrated\/\">the Wall Street Journal has a story<\/a> essentially saying that I was right. There is no public relations catastrophe that happens to the Republicans if there\u2019s a government shutdown. That\u2019s right. No public relations catastrophe, given the perennial low approval. The headline: &#8220;Shutdown\u2019s Political Damage May Be Overrated,&#8221; and an 8- to 10-seat pickup is what happened as the &#8220;damage&#8221; of last year\u2019s government shutdown. So right here it is, after the fact.<\/p>\n<p>Now, the reason why this is a big deal, all these clowns up there read the Wall Street Journal. All these clowns in the Washington establishment, on the Republican side especially, the Wall Street Journal\u2019s gold. The Wall Street Journal\u2019s gospel. So now they\u2019ve got a story, &#8220;Shutdown\u2019s Political Damage May Be Overrated.&#8221; Subheadline: &#8220;Rush Limbaugh Was Right.&#8221; Well, it doesn\u2019t say that, but it may as well.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.wsj.com\/washwire\/2014\/12\/04\/politics-counts-shutdowns-political-damage-may-be-overrated\/\"><img id=\"eZObject_99765\" class=\"aligncenter\" align=\"middle\" src=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/RushIsRightArticle.jpg\"\/><\/a>Anyway, greetings friends, great to have you, Rush Limbaugh, the EIB Network here at 800-282-2882. The e-mail address, ElRushbo@eibnet.com.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s more to the story, but basically I\u2019ve just given you the sum total of it, that there\u2019s no big deal. The government shutdown does not cause a PR catastrophe, political damage overrated. But that doesn\u2019t matter now because yesterday they did it, they funded the government for the rest of the fiscal year, $1.1 trillion. I\u2019m told there\u2019s a Washington Post story that they said we\u2019re gonna do a service for you. Rather than you read the whole thing, we\u2019re gonna do it and skim it for you, and then we\u2019re just gonna give you the highlights. And the third highlight in the Washington Post story is that Obamacare is fully funded.<\/p>\n<p>Now, there\u2019s no new money, there\u2019s no new money for Obamacare, and the Washington Post says, if I read correctly &#8212; I had to quickly glance at it before the program commenced here. I think they cut $10 million from the death panel aspect, but I\u2019ve gotta double-check that when I have a lengthy break coming up here and have a chance to really read it. The bottom line is, and Drudge has a lead headline: &#8220;Republican Betrayal, Obamacare Fully Funded.&#8221; The Wall Street Journal, ah, slow realization that the shutdown is not a PR catastrophe.
