CALLER: Hey, Rush, Merry Christmas.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Same to you, sir. Great to have you with us.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m a longtime listener. My daughter is a big fan of you on Family Guy<\/a>. She misses you on the show.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, really? (laughing) I\u2019ve had a couple, three appearances there. You never know when it\u2019ll happen again.<\/line><\/p>\n

CALLER: Of course. Hey, Rush, I want to change up the subject a little bit. I want to talk about the NFL because it\u2019s the time of year I look forward to football and I\u2019d like to hear your opinion on this. What do you think is gonna happen to Marc Trestman and Jay Cutler?<\/p>\n

RUSH: With the Bears?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, yeah, the Bears.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I know they\u2019re gonna start Cutler this Sunday. He\u2019s back under center. Trestman was brought in because he\u2019s ostensibly known as an offensive genius and fixer, and there hasn\u2019t been much evidence of that this year.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, yeah. Of course, yeah. I also see that Rex Ryan is on his way out the door, too.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, you want Rex Ryan?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, no, not really. I mean, he was a good coach for a while, but I don\u2019t know what happened. It looked like his wheels fell off.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, if you want to know what happened to Rex Ryan, I\u2019ll tell you what happened to Rex Ryan. There are two things that happened to Rex Ryan. A, the general manager that they hired to come in — he knew that he was not really desired by the new general manager so he had to change. He had to stop being who he was and had to become a corporate conformist in order to keep his job, trying to make it work. The general manager\u2019s the power broker at any football organization. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And he was brought in by Mike Tannenbaum, who got fired. So Rex just changed. His personality changed overnight, and I think the lap band surgery has an effect. I think there\u2019s all kinds of things that explain —<\/line><\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, yeah, and did you like the game here a few weeks ago on Thanksgiving weekend with the New England Patriots and the Packers?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Did I see it, did you say?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, did you watch it?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Pretty good game, wasn\u2019t it?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, it was an excellent game. I thought we\u2019re talking about Rex Ryan. Yeah, but it was a good game and it might be a forerunner. Either way, as to your question, I think they\u2019re both gone next year, be my guess. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
