RUSH: Here\u2019s John Kerry, State Department today, first of two sound bites. Here we go.<\/p>\n

KERRY: No country knows better than France that freedom has a price. Because France gave birth to democracy itself. I agree with the French imam who today called the slain journalists —<\/p>\n

RUSH: What?<\/p>\n

KERRY: — martyrs for liberty. The murderers dared proclaim Charlie Hebdo is dead. But make no mistake. They are wrong. The freedom of expression that this magazine, no matter what your feelings were about it, freedom of expression that it represented is not able to be killed by this kind of active terrorism.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wait a minute. This guy speaks French, what\u2019s he pronouncing it Charlie Hebdo for? Even I know that\u2019s not how you pronounce it. It\u2019s Charlie Hebdo, if you want to Anglicize the French. Charlie Hebdo? What is this about France — what does he know that I don\u2019t? France gave birth to democracy itself? Well, now, wait. What is he talking about? What in the world is he talking about? He\u2019s got to be talking about something. Is this clown claiming that the French revolution\u2019s what inspired us to do ours? What in the world is he talking about? Anyway, I\u2019ll sort this all out later. Here\u2019s Jean-Francois now addressing the issue in Francais.<\/line><\/p>\n

KERRY: I\u2019d like to just say a quick word if I may directly to the people of France. Je veux m\u2019adresser directement aux Parisiens et a tous les Fran\u00c3\u00a7ais pour leur dire que tous les Americains se tiennent a leurs cotes, non seullement dans l\u2019horreur, la colere et la condamnation de ce terrible acte de violence. Nous sommes egalement solidaires de votre engagement dans la bataille, la lutte contre l\u2019extremisme et de votre determination a proteger la valeur —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Stop the tape a minute. This sounds like it\u2019s from the Balkans, to me. Maybe a little ChiCom in there. But this is French?<\/p>\n

KERRY: — si peur aux extremistes. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, that\u2019s what I missed. No doubt talking about America there. Tea Party. “extremists.” Anyway, there he is, Jean-Francois Kerry, and that is, by the way, one of his prime qualifications to be secretary of state. He can speak French and Europeans really love this bilingual stuff. That\u2019s how you really prove you\u2019re educated.<\/p>\n

RUSH: All right, just one more thing here before we get to the phones. Welcome back. Rush Limbaugh. Talent on loan from God. I think John Kerry just said that he\u2019s a jelly doughnut. I had somebody that speaks French listening to what he said, and she said it sounded like he said he was a French doughnut — or jelly doughnut. <\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: We start it Sally in Columbus, Ohio, from the Ohio State University. Great to have you on the program. Hi.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hi, Rush. How are you?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Very well. Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Good. I\u2019m so happy you\u2019ve taken my call. You know, as I\u2019ve been watching this Islamic terrorist attack in Paris, I\u2019ve just been waiting for someone to pick up on the glaring, horrific hypocrisy of this administration. I was stunned when I heard John Kerry refer to the French cartoonists as, I believe he said, martyrs for liberty. But yet the administration, the same administration, really — even though Hillary was the one that was fueling the fire. She was intent on calling the producer of the video as having a cynical purpose. He was provoking rage. He was disgusting and reprehensible.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right.<\/line><\/p>\n

CALLER: I was just so glad. I\u2019d been hoping somebody in the Drive-Bys would maybe do this, but they didn\u2019t. And of course, Rush, you did.<\/p>\n

RUSH: They\u2019re not either. They won\u2019t do it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: They won\u2019t. <\/p>\n

RUSH: I started the program by asking, “Has anybody seen them recall what Hillary said early in December?” And you won\u2019t. They will not. She\u2019s the presumptive nominee. They\u2019re not gonna insert her in this the way you want. The only way they would is if she could look good doing it, but they can\u2019t publicize what she said back in December and make her look good.<\/p>\n

CALLER: It\u2019s glaring. It\u2019s hypocritical beyond belief.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, it is hypocritical.<\/p>\n

CALLER: To me it is like, are the French dead allowed to have what John Kerry referred to as “expression of freedom”?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And anyone from this country — although we\u2019re not sure about the video producer\u2019s nationality. (chuckles) But he was reprehensible. He had done it for cynical purposes. I just think that that speaks volumes of what really may have happened in Benghazi. So easy to condemn, but yet so easy to defend. And that was pretty much my statement, Rush. You just nailed it.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019m glad you called, and thank you. I appreciate that. Mrs. Clinton\u2019s not being hypocritical. This is glaring incompetence, folks. We are gonna be at even greater risk if this woman really believes what she said. Grab it again, sound bite 26. Play this stuff over and over and over. If the Drive-Bys aren\u2019t gonna play it, I\u2019m gonna make sure as many people as possible can and do. <\/p>\n

HILLARY: This is what we call smart power, using every possible tool and partner to advance peace and security. Leaving no one on the sidelines. Showing respect even for one\u2019s enemies. Trying to understand and insofar as psychologically possible, empathize with their perspective and point of view, helping to define the problems, determine the solutions. That is what we believe in the twenty-first century will change, change the prospects for peace<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: Now, look, that may be hypocrisy, but it\u2019s worse. It\u2019s incompetence. That is head-in-the-sand ignorance. That is dangerous, if that kind of thinking takes hold. By the way, what happened today and any future attacks are not gonna change Mrs. Clinton\u2019s opinion. I will guarantee you, she\u2019s sitting wherever she\u2019s sitting here (maybe at Epstein\u2019s house getting the lowdown on what happened there) and she is, I\u2019m sure, probably believing her comments to be even more valid today.<\/p>\n

“If we had taken time to reach out,” as she would say. “If we had taken time to the best of our ability to psychologically understand and empathize, then maybe we could have prevented this from happening!” These kinds of events… The left, people like Hillary, Obama? They\u2019re not capable of shame. They\u2019re too arrogant, folks, and there\u2019s too much narcissism and hubris involved here for them to ever experience shame or to even admit that they\u2019ve been wrong about something.<\/p>\n

So something like this is not gonna teach \u2019em a lesson. It\u2019s just gonna further rivet in her mind that she\u2019s right. But this is dangerous. It\u2019s, therefore, risky, I think, for us to even contemplate this kind of thinking continuing in the Oval Office. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Hi, Rush. Thank you for taking my call.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You bet.<\/p>\n

CALLER: You played audio from John Kerry last hour, and as I listened to that I started screaming at the radio. I couldn\u2019t believe that he would say that the French, that France is the birthplace of democracy.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: This is the supposed to be the secretary of state of the United States. He doesn\u2019t know that the American Revolution happened 13 years before the French revolution? And not only that, the French revolution happened in 1799. It had nothing to do with democracy. There was a butcher house —<\/p>\n

RUSH: I know. Mario, you\u2019re preaching to choir here. I don\u2019t know what the hell he was talking about.<\/p>\n

CALLER: This guy should resign in shame. How can he say that? He\u2019s a fraud. (unintelligible) French (unintelligible) own country? You know, and then the French, what about the guillotine and chopped everybody\u2019s heads —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Mario —<\/p>\n

CALLER: — and when they were done with that, then came Napoleon, and he proclaimed himself emperor. And then they restored the monarchy. What democracy is he talking about? Is he crazy, this guy, or what?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, Mario, we needed your call today. (laughing)<\/p>\n

CALLER: I can\u2019t believe that. It\u2019s absurd. And nobody\u2019s going to (unintelligible) call this guy for this? You know, he\u2019s (unintelligible) if you think that was French —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Mario —<\/p>\n

CALLER: That sounded like Pig Latin or whatever it was, you know, I don\u2019t know what it was.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019m all-in with you on this. The secretary of state doesn\u2019t know. (laughing)<\/p>\n

CALLER: Because I was screaming at the radio saying, “What are you talking about!” you know, whatever. I don\u2019t know. <\/p>\n

RUSH: The thing is, he believes this stuff. That\u2019s what you don\u2019t understand. This guy, I guarantee he thinks he\u2019s the smartest guy in the world, and he believes all this stuff. The fact that you don\u2019t, you\u2019re the idiot. You\u2019re the idiot. You\u2019re the one that doesn\u2019t know. You\u2019re the one that doesn\u2019t understand. Meanwhile, nobody knows what he\u2019s talking about. French, birthplace of democracy. French revolution. We\u2019re all-in here with you, Mario.
