RUSH: Here\u2019s Wayne in Lexington, South Carolina. Is that right? Hi, Wayne. Great to have you on the Rush Limbaugh program.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Thank you very much, Rush. I sincerely want to say it\u2019s my privilege and honor to speak with you. I\u2019ve been listening almost since the beginning of time, it seems like.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, you know, sometimes it feels like we\u2019ve been doing it that long. (laughing)<\/p>\n

CALLER: It\u2019s been our privilege to hear you doing it. The reason for my call is just two quick points. Your books that have come out<\/a>, I\u2019ve had the opportunity to purchase them for my grandchildren, and, in doing so, I decided that I was gonna peruse them and do some reading. And I have found myself completely engulfed in the books to the point where, the kids are gonna wait until I\u2019m done reading before I send them down. So now my wife says download them and read them on the phone, and I\u2019m trying to explain I\u2019m too blind to see them on the little phone. But, you know, I\u2019ve experienced some long-term, short-term memory loss, some brain damage, and it\u2019s really kind of great to get back into educating myself and reading. And I\u2019m just really, as a grown man, getting a lot of out of them, and I can\u2019t think you enough.<\/p>\n

<\/a>RUSH: Well, this is phenomenal. You know, I think it takes courage for an adult like you to admit that you\u2019re learning something from a children\u2019s book.<\/p>\n

CALLER: It\u2019s true. I mean, you know, I\u2019ve heard other callers say it, but when I got in there for myself and really started getting into the book, they were enjoyable, but they came across with so much information that, you know, you may tend to forget across time that, you know, it\u2019s been a long time since I\u2019ve been in school, and, you know, it\u2019s really been beneficial.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You know, I really thank you, I can\u2019t tell you. We\u2019ve had quite a few adults over the, well, 15 or 16 months since the first book came out that said they learned things that they were never taught in school —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Exactly.<\/p>\n

RUSH: — about American history, which, you know, that makes me really gratified, and it confirms one of the premises under which we wrote the books, and that is that the education system in America is focused on maybe not the things they should have in certain aspects —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Exactly.<\/p>\n

RUSH: — of American history. How old are your grandkids?<\/p>\n

CALLER: My oldest is 10.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I have my 17-year-old daughter and my 20-year-old son reading them. And I\u2019m just telling you, Rush, I\u2019m sure you hear it quite a bit, but when I say from the bottom of my heart that your show, your books, just listening to you, looking at you as a role model myself, and my kids having that same opportunity, and again through the books, you\u2019ve really changed my family\u2019s lives. You\u2019ve helped educate my children —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wow.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — better than any school could, and I\u2019m eternally grateful for everything you\u2019ve done for us. I really mean that. I\u2019m not just somebody calling up per your producer, I mean that from the bottom of my heart, and I just thank God that you\u2019re out here doing it for us.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I don\u2019t know what to say. I\u2019m floored here. It\u2019s just incredibly nice of you to say all that. I sincerely appreciate it, I can\u2019t tell you how much.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, it\u2019s my pleasure, and, like I said, you know, I was able once to meet President Reagan. I spoke with him just for a minute, and I feel myself just as honored speaking with you today as I did that same day —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wow.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — \u2019cause I consider you both great Americans.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You\u2019re turning me speechless here. You\u2019re turning me speechless here. I\u2019ll tell you what I want to do, tell you what I want to do. You have a 10-year-old grandson, so I want you to give us your FedEx address and I want to send some stuff, a little gift package for the 10-year-old.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And I want to send you, I want to send you a new iPad Air so that you can read the books.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Rush, you don\u2019t have it that.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, no, no, I want to, that\u2019s what I\u2019ve got \u2019em here for. I\u2019ve got a stack of \u2019em in there, and I dole \u2019em out whenever I feel like I want to. And the new iPad Air, you\u2019ll be able to get any e-book you want, these look fabulous on it. It\u2019ll be big enough for you to read them. It serves my purpose because it gets the books out of your hands and put \u2019em in the hands of your grandkids, \u2019cause right now you are hoarding them. So I\u2019ll send you the iPad, you can read \u2019em on the iPad, like your wife suggested, and give the books to the kids. <\/p>\n

But, look, Wayne, just hang in there, and Mr. Snerdley will be back and get your address and we\u2019ll get that stuff out. The iPad we\u2019ll get out today. Some of the other stuff is gonna take a while to assemble it, but hopefully this week we\u2019ll get out the little Rush Revere and Liberty<\/a> package that we put together for people, too. I can\u2019t thank you enough. It\u2019s over the top, what you said. I appreciate every word of it more than you can possibly, possibly know. Oh, man. I never do take any of this for granted.
