RUSH: Back to the phones, to Chicago. This is Marty. I\u2019m glad you called, sir. Welcome to the EIB Network. Hello.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, Rush, it\u2019s quite an honor to speak to you. My life is complete. Hey, I just wanted to ask a question. You were talking earlier about the Hillary e-mails<\/a>, how they were leaked by Valerie, and I was wondering your thoughts on the idea that, you know, Democrats, you know, Obama came out of nowhere and basically came to the forefront. And we haven\u2019t really seen that. I\u2019m wondering if they\u2019re trying to sabotage her just like they did in \u201908 so they can put some unknown back in there just like they did with Obama.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, yeah, but there\u2019s more to it than that in this case. Now, according to Ed Klein — and again, a lot of people, Ed Klein, they seldom refute per se what he says, but he still — I don\u2019t know. Some people are not comfortable repeating everything Ed Klein reports. Let\u2019s just put it that way. I\u2019m not trying to be critical. I\u2019m just trying to be up front. Because there\u2019s a bit of a qualifier. In this piece, Ed Klein, the New York Post piece in which he says Valerie Jarrett is behind the sabotage of Mrs. Clinton, this whole e-mail story, he claims that the reason they\u2019re trying to sabotage Mrs. Clinton is that Obama is very much concerned that she\u2019s not liberal enough, she\u2019s not a radical leftist. She\u2019s more of a moderate centrist Democrat who will probably try to unravel some of Obama\u2019s accomplishments. <\/line><\/p>\n

I just have to tell you, I don\u2019t believe that for a second. I mean, I wouldn\u2019t be surprised if Obama\u2019s trying to sabotage her. But Hillary Clinton is every bit the Alinskyite that Obama is. I don\u2019t know that she has the same chip on her shoulder about the country Obama does, but it\u2019s close. But I think that\u2019s a little bit sophomoric. I think Obama\u2019s reasons for wanting to sabotage her, Valerie Jarrett\u2019s reasons for wanting to sabotage the Clintons, would be a little deeper than just worrying about Mrs. Clinton unraveling. With a guy like Obama who\u2019s a narcissist and a ego freak, the differences or the reasons for something like this would tend to be more personal. <\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay, so what can be some of the personal reasons Obama would not want Hillary to be president? Look, it could be that he\u2019s worried that she will unravel. I think that\u2019s a concern he would have about anybody, but mostly Republicans. And, by the way, he\u2019s announced, or it was announced, or it was leaked that he and Moochelle are now gonna live in New York, and they\u2019re upset by this in Chicago. They actually thought he\u2019d come home to Chicago, but he\u2019s not. He\u2019s gonna go to New York. It\u2019s a happening place, they say. I mean, the Clintons think it\u2019s a happening place. I mean the Obamas. <\/p>\n

But he\u2019s also gonna have a place in Washington, and he\u2019s gonna be there, now and then, just to make sure that whoever the next president is doesn\u2019t unravel or doesn\u2019t try. The minute somebody does, he\u2019s gonna call his buddies in the press, he\u2019s gonna be all over the media trying to stop it. <\/p>\n

Now, it could well be that he\u2019s afraid Mrs. Clinton will go a different direction to differentiate herself from him. My guess is — you know, narcissists are sometimes tough to read. It could be that — and who knows what dynamic exists here. If I were the Democrat Party I would have mixed emotions about the Clintons. Part of me, I will admit it, would be jealous of the press coverage they get. I would be a little jealous and I\u2019d be a little angry about how they get away with everything. <\/line><\/p>\n

Part of me be happy and proud, it\u2019s my party. Part of me would admire it. But another part of me would maybe be a little resentful of it. Maybe Obama could have some of that. Maybe he\u2019s worried that Hillary would do an better job than he\u2019s done and wouldn\u2019t want to have the next Democrat president end up looking better than he does. I think that\u2019s entirely possible. These are all wild guesses. <\/p>\n

And Ed Klein could be right. He could be worried that Hillary will unravel just to differentiate herself. But I think it\u2019s personal. I think there\u2019s a lot of dislike that\u2019s racial, goes back to the \u201908 campaign. I think there is some bad blood between the Clinton and Obama families. So any number of reasons here. <\/p>\n

Now, there is there somebody in the wings? Yeah. Elizabeth Warren. There are a whole bunch of liberal Democrat media people who are salivating over Elizabeth Warren. They think she is the real deal and Obama is not radical enough, if you could believe that. So, yeah, they\u2019ve got some people they would prefer to see there besides Hillary. I\u2019ll tell you another name that\u2019s surfacing all of a sudden, that\u2019s Algore. Algore as a potential Democrat presidential nominee in 2016, his name is bubbling up out there again. Not by him, but others who recognize that the designated nominee, Mrs. Clinton, is in some trouble, and some are thinking that Algore would be ideal. <\/p>\n

Now, there is in Austin, Texas, this past weekend the South by Southwest festival. It may still be going on. It\u2019s a tech, cultural and — it\u2019s just parties with some business aspects thrown in. And Algore showed up at South by Southwest. He made a speech and he did a personal appearance and so forth, and basically his message was that we need to punish climate change deniers. We need to put a price on carbon, i.e., we need to start taxing it. <\/p>\n

And then, “for the third time in the last few years,” Gore spoke at the festival on Friday. He focused on the need to “punish climate change deniers, saying politicians should pay a price for rejecting ‘accepted science.'” And of course there is no accepted science. Global warming is a hoax. Man-made global warming is a hoax. But Algore has become a multi-multi-millionaire perpetuating it. <\/p>\n

The bottom line is that there is some sentiment for Algore to once again seek the presidency because, to a lot of Democrats, he got the shaft. To a lot of Democrats, Algore actually won in 2000, but the Supreme Court shut down the recount. I mean, this is not true. Absurd, but there are a lot of lamebrains who actually believe Gore was on the way to being named president, and the Supreme Court shut down the count in Florida, and that was that. <\/p>\n

I don\u2019t want to revisit that or relitigate that, but don\u2019t doubt me. That was never going to happen because of a constitutional thing. Once Florida\u2019s electoral votes had been certified, and they were certified twice, that was it. The recount was a waste of time and energy. It was never going to matter. It was a pure political undertaking. Florida had certified their electoral votes twice, and that was that. The Republicans controlled the House were any tie or problem election would take place, and president would be chosen, and that was that. But still, \u2019cause Gore won the popular vote by a slim margin, there are people that really think he got the shaft. <\/p>\n

So the bottom line is, within the Democrat Party there are a whole lot of choices besides Hillary. This is my point. She\u2019s not the slam dunk the Republicans think she is. She\u2019s not the fait accompli the Republicans think she is. The Republicans are still scared to death of Mrs. Clinton, and that\u2019s not productive, it\u2019s not good, it\u2019s not helpful. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey, Rush, thanks for taking my call. You know, most political pundits don\u2019t put much stock in a vice presidential choice, but the Democrats are in this Hillary Clinton predicament today precisely because of Obama\u2019s vice presidential pick of Joe Biden. It\u2019s the exact same predicament that happened to the Republicans when Bush picked Cheney. After eight years of Bush, Republicans were left with a bottom of the barrel whose turn is it next candidate. So Obama\u2019s vice president pick of Biden has left the Democrats today the same place Republicans were with Cheney. They\u2019re left with the bottom of the barrel whose turn is it next candidate, and it\u2019s Hillary Clinton. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Wait a second. I get part of what you\u2019re saying, Neil, but I don\u2019t get the Cheney-Biden comparison.<\/line><\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, Bush picked Dick Cheney, everybody knew Cheney was never gonna run for president. He said he wasn\u2019t. But because no one wants to step on the toes of a sitting president, Bush goes eight years without anybody coming forward as a viable candidate, so when it was over, they were just left with, you know, the maverick, right? And so he gets trounced. And now everybody knows Biden\u2019s not a viable candidate, so who are they left with?<\/p>\n

RUSH: But wait a minute. Biden, see, that\u2019s the thing. Cheney made it clear he didn\u2019t want to run, so that was that. Biden has not made it clear. Biden\u2019s out there, I mean, anybody at the 7-Eleven who will listen to him, he\u2019s telling he wants to run. I mean, he\u2019s making noise about it. In that way he differs from Cheney. <\/p>\n

Now, to us — and I say this with great care and caution — to all of us, Joe Biden is a raging idiot. To the Democrats, to many Democrats he\u2019s loyal. And he\u2019s a champion of what the Democrats believe, and he has done everything he can to build Obama up, and he\u2019s done everything the Democrats have asked him to do at every convention that they\u2019ve had. I don\u2019t think with Biden there is, “Okay, we owe him, it\u2019s his turn.” There\u2019s none of that. <\/p>\n

And there was with McCain, I will grant you that. There was this, “Okay, it\u2019s the maverick\u2019s turn. Bush did him dirty in 2000 in South Carolina in the primaries and it really was unfortunate and the maverick got screwed by the rumors of an illegitimate child, so, yeah, it\u2019s the maverick.” In fact, the maverick got the nomination in March. I think with certain elements of the Democrat Party Biden has a lot of credibility. It\u2019s only to us where he\u2019s a universal joke. (interruption) No, I don\u2019t think they\u2019re gonna nominate him. I\u2019m just telling you, not everybody in the Democrat Party looks at Biden the way we do.<\/p>\n

Some of them look at him as a very loyal warrior that has done everything the president\u2019s asked him to do. He\u2019s never once tried to undermine or sabotage. He\u2019s not stepped on anybody\u2019s toes, other than when he\u2019s done stupid stuff, but that\u2019s what he does. Or when he says stupid stuff. I\u2019m just telling you some people wouldn\u2019t mind if he ran. He\u2019s never gonna win the nomination, don\u2019t misunderstand. I\u2019m not saying he\u2019s got a viable chance, but he differs from Cheney in that Cheney took himself out, Biden hasn\u2019t. <\/p>\n

People are talking about the Democrat Party bench being relatively empty. I don\u2019t think that\u2019s true at all. I think that\u2019s a trap for the Republicans to fall into by thinking that the Democrats only have Hillary. If they don\u2019t get Hillary, they don\u2019t have anybody. They\u2019ve got a bench. You\u2019ve got Martin O\u2019Malley out there now, who\u2019s doing his best Vladimir Putin impersonation. Have you seen it? <\/p>\n

Martin O\u2019Malley is running around there showing his abs and showing his biceps, his triceps, he running without a shirt. The next thing you know he\u2019ll vanish for 11 days, get all kinds of curiosity about what he\u2019s doing, where is he, and he\u2019ll surface dramatically with his love child like Putin did. Who knows. But Martin O\u2019Malley\u2019s making a move right now, very serious. It\u2019s all because Mrs. Clinton stumbled. I think he would have done it even before she stumbled. <\/line><\/p>\n

Elizabeth Warren\u2019s out there. The best evidence you have that somebody wants to run is somebody says, “No way, I\u2019m not interested, I\u2019m not doing it.” That just sets you up for, “Please do it? Come on, Elizabeth, please.” Just draft her in there. She knows there are a lot of these leftist radical lunatics that want her, and she\u2019s denying them. And that\u2019s just gonna make them want her more. <\/p>\n

So, I don\u2019t know how viable the Democrat bench is. (interruption) Andrew Cuomo, are you serious? (interruption) Well, okay, Andrew Cuomo. Then you might as well throw Rahm Emanuel in there, too. (interruption) Well, I know he may not win his mayoral election, but if you\u2019re gonna start throwing people like Andrew Cuomo in there, throw Rahm Emanuel in. <\/p>\n

The point is they\u2019ve got people. <\/p>\n

RUSH: By the way, James Rosen at Fox, at the White House press briefing today, asked Josh Earnest about the Ed Klein story in the New York Post. Here\u2019s how it went.<\/p>\n

ROSEN: A published report over the weekend in a leading New York newspaper asserted that White House counselor, uh, Valerie Jarrett played some role in the disclosures about Secretary Clinton\u2019s e-mails. Can you confirm that?<\/p>\n

EARNEST: It\u2019s utter baloney. <\/p>\n

ROSEN: I\u2019ll leave it there.<\/p>\n

EARNEST: (chortling)<\/p>\n

ROSEN: (chortling)<\/p>\n

RUSH: (impression) “M\u2019wahahahahaha! It\u2019s utter baloney. M\u2019wahahahahaha! I\u2019ll leave it there. It\u2019s utter baloney.” I tell you, if you read Ed Klein, if you read his stuff, he makes no bones about it that the Clintons and the Obamas hate each other like the Hatfields and the McCoys. He makes no bones about it, that it\u2019s visceral, and there\u2019s no solution to it. Which makes people say, “Okay, why did Obama name her secretary of state?” And isn\u2019t that somewhat obvious? <\/p>\n

Well, let me take a stab at why he would name her secretary… Look, politics is a strange thing. The politics people that hate each other work together all the time. Politics is one of these place where the old adage, “Keep your friends close and your enemies closer” is actually true. What if Obama…? Where did he put her? He put her someplace she got zero qualifications. She had to take it to stay in good with everybody the Democrat Party. Here\u2019s the new president, first African-American president.<\/p>\n

IF she turns it down, what does she look like? She doesn\u2019t look like a team player, doesn\u2019t look like she\u2019s doing… She looks like it\u2019s sour grapes, everything else. So she has to take it. She was also massively in debt and Obama had promised to help her retire some of her campaign debt, and the price was she had to take secretary of state, the place that she is the absolutely least qualified for. Of all the things Hillary can\u2019t do, running the State Department\u2019s at the top of the list. <\/p>\n

Obama knew that he was going to shake things up in foreign policy. He knew that he was gonna do things that were gonna irritate and anger people. He knew it. He knew this country was gonna have its role in the world reduced. He knew that he was going to totally obliterate the notion that United States is the solution to the world\u2019s problems. So if he\u2019s got grand designs on reducing the US role in the world, who better to put as the face of that than your enemy, and make her take the blame for it? <\/p>\n

I mean, I can see sense to this. She kind of had to take the offer. Well, she didn\u2019t have to, but Bill was right in there urging her to. Because the way the Clintons think, probably from their standpoint it was a way to sabotage Obama and it was also a way to stay viable and in the Regime to keep her future 2016 hopes front and center, her desires front and center. <\/p>\n

I can see all kinds of reasons why it could be true that the Obamas and the Clintons despise each other and that he would put her at State and that she would accept it. Also, according to Ed Klein, Michelle Obama and Valerie Jarrett are right in there. I mean, they lead the hate list. That\u2019s if you believe Klein. And as I say, a lot of people think he\u2019s way out in left field. But seldom is he ever thoroughly, fully refuted. <\/p>\n

Klein is basically dealt with the way the Democrats go after everybody. That\u2019s attack their credibility and their character and their honor. “He\u2019s an extremist, he\u2019s a radical, he\u2019s a liar, he makes it up.” But they very seldom actually refute. This is one of the few times. And this was not even — the specific charges were not really laid out here, and Josh Earnest says, “It\u2019s utter baloney. I\u2019ll leave it there. M\u2019wahahahaha,” and everybody laughed about it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hello, Rush, thank you and Lone Star dittos from the great state. I would like to offer to a new perspective on why Obama does not want Hillary Clinton as the next president. It has to do with who he is at his core, and that is a narcissist, okay?<\/p>\n

CALLER: A huge part of his identity, and quite honestly with his political power, comes to him as being the first African-American president. And he does not want the next president to be historic in any fashion. He has to maintain the cache of being the first. He doesn\u2019t want the next president to be a female. He doesn\u2019t want the next president to be Hispanic. He has to maintain his cache and his exclusivity as part of his identity as being the first African American president.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, if that\u2019s true, if you\u2019re right about that, then it would follow he wouldn\u2019t even want a Democrat to win next time. That would make him look even more special.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Exactly.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And after he had set \u2019em up to be in power for decades with amnesty and everything else and the Democrats couldn\u2019t even win, how much more special would that make him look?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Absolutely. I really think he would be more upset with a Ted Cruz presidency because Cruz would be the first Hispanic rather than Cruz is a conservative.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, but, you know, Obama\u2019d be running around telling everybody Cruz was born in Canada, so —<\/p>\n

CALLER: True enough.<\/p>\n

RUSH: (laughing) Anyway, I understand your thinking about that. I hadn\u2019t thought of that. I mean, I know he\u2019s a narcissist, but I hadn\u2019t thought of that. Clearly the Democrats want that. I mean, look what they\u2019ve been able to pull off, first African-American president, no criticism allowed or your racist. So if you get the first female president, no criticism allowed, sexism. And if you get the first Hispanic elected, no criticism allowed, anti-Hispanic, racist all over again.
