RUSH: You know, we at the Rush Revere Time-Travel Adventures with Exceptional Americans children\u2019s book series, we are engaged in what we firmly believe and know to be a wholesome, family oriented, valuable effort to educate young people about the glorious truth of the founding of the United States of America. Again, because the founding and the founders of this country are under a constant assault in the public education system and in the college, university system in this country.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<\/map>\n<\/p>\n

The founders, they too, a bunch of homophobes and bigots and racists and sexists and so forth. The founding of the country, unjust and immoral. I love this country and I love the people that found it, and I am in awe of them. I think the story of the United States of America is one of the greatest stories in all of humanity. And watching what\u2019s been done and is being done, we started these children\u2019s books as a means of coming up with a fun way for young people to learn and want to learn American history.<\/p>\n

Basically we have a talking horse that\u2019s able to time travel with a substitute teacher in the saddle named Rush Revere, who\u2019s able to take students from his Manchester Middle School anywhere via time travel, anywhere in American history. Students, readers, are then taken to that era, and they experience it. They live it as readers, what happened. And of course it\u2019s the truth. Well, this has caused — and look, I don\u2019t mind saying, this is a righteous endeavor. This is a wholesome, family oriented, truthful endeavor designed to teach the greatness and the decency, and dare I say the specialness, the exceptionalism of this country.<\/p>\n

Well, it\u2019s taking off. The first three books came out in 13 months, working on the fourth, and the feedback that we\u2019re getting is overwhelming to the point that we have begun to encourage participation from readers by participating in various challenges and contests. One of them is submitting videos, inspired videos that they make with their equipment at home, be it a smartphone or a stand-alone camera or whatever, be as creative as they want, various challenges, and they send them in, and we judge them, and there are prizes awarded and so forth, and we post all of these.<\/p>\n

<\/a>If you want to see wholesomeness, if you want to see what we\u2019re trying to make happen, the kind of America that we\u2019re trying to reflect, it\u2019s there, and the people who are getting involved in this are just great as they can be. The point of all this is that we are happy to announce the winners of the latest Adventures of Rush Revere challenges. I\u2019m telling you the videos that we get from children and families across the country are simply exceptional.<\/p>\n

Now, the panel of judges judging the videos, including myself and Kathryn, it gets tougher and tougher. They\u2019re all so good, and it makes it very hard to pick one, two, or three that stand out, but we have to, because that\u2019s what we have pledged to do, \u2019cause they\u2019re all so fantastic. The talent that is displayed, the creativity, the degree of work in the costumes that they try to create, or they do create and dress up as, it\u2019s heartwarming and it\u2019s inspirational and it\u2019s rewarding for all of us that are involved in the entire Rush Revere series.<\/p>\n

It makes us see a bright future, and we want to share that with you by posting some of these videos on our Facebook page and the RushRevere.com page. These are genuinely exceptional young Americans, and they\u2019re working with their moms and dads to produce these videos, and they\u2019re peppering us with e-mails and still photos of their experiences as they\u2019ve read the books.<\/p>\n

So congratulations go to Lucia from Illinois. She won first place in the Be a Star Challenge. And all of this you can see, I\u2019ll give you the web addresses in just a minute. Felicity, Lucy, and Greta from Ohio. They had a fantastic video, first place in the Liberty Dance Challenge. And to Hannah, who is the first place Join the Adventures Crew winner. So you\u2019ll be able to check these videos out, and you\u2019ll see what we\u2019re talking about here. They\u2019re just cute, and some of them are really dazzlingly impressive. We always have new challenges. We\u2019re always offering these young readers a chance to accept new challenges, and it helps them get even more into the storylines of each book. It\u2019s a way to deepen the learning experience, go beyond just reading it to actually reenacting some of these things and putting it on video. Now, you might think, “Rush, this is awfully self-serving.” Yeah, it is self-serving, I\u2019ll admit that. But at the same time, folks, it\u2019s a great way to counter some of the filth and the garbage that we have to deal with every day here if we pay attention to the news. If any of you pay attention to the news, any of you get involved with it, follow the media, you can\u2019t escape it, and you need an antidote, you need evidence that there is something else other than this plunge into depravity taking place out there. So that\u2019s why we\u2019re eager to share it.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Here\u2019s Unity in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. I\u2019m glad to have you on the program. It says you\u2019re nine years old. Is that right?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, sir.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Nine years old. So I\u2019m guessing that you have read some Rush Revere Time-Travel Adventures with Exceptional Americans books, right?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, sir.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, thank you very much. And I\u2019m also assuming you liked them? <\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, sir.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, thank you very much.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Very much. My sister also, she\u2019s an eight-year-old named Nimaway. She also loves them.<\/p>\n

RUSH: So you have an eight-year-old sister who also has read them and liked them, too? <\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, sir.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Her name is Emily?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Nimaway.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Something like Emily, okay. Well, it\u2019s very flattering for you to call and tell me that you enjoy them. What do you like best about them?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, they\u2019re just really funny and they teach a lot about history and our country.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, that\u2019s the objective. I\u2019m glad that you picked up on that.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hm-hm.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Because, you know, you go through school, you\u2019re gonna hear things different from what you read in these books, probably. I hope not, but you might encounter people that tell you a different story than what you\u2019re reading in the books.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes. My dad likes how you tell the truth and he thinks that you are a true patriot.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, that\u2019s awfully nice. I don\u2019t doubt for a moment that there are some really quality parents in your life, too. How many have you read?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, we have read the First Patriots and the Brave Pilgrims.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, yeah. So you don\u2019t have the most recent one, and we\u2019re working on a fourth.<\/p>\n

CALLER: We have that one, but we are working on it right now.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay.
