RUSH: Why thank you, sir, very much.<\/p>\n

CALLER: So anyways, I read a quote earlier from Elizabeth Warren about this transpacific pact, and she was making fun of the Obama administration for saying if we knew what was in it we wouldn\u2019t want to pass it. And she said that is not how a democracy works. I think that sounds pretty similar to how they did Obamacare, doesn\u2019t it?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, it is. That\u2019s a good catch on your part, Joel. I can tell that you are a lifetime, lifelong listener. Great, great catch.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Thank you, sir. Thank you for taking the time today.<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, you should feel very proud, you should feel very proud. Elizabeth Warren did say something along the lines of “we\u2019re gonna have to pass it to find out what\u2019s in it.” Which is exactly what Pelosi said about Obamacare, we gotta pass it to know what\u2019s in it. Now, the interesting thing about this Obama trade is the Democrats hate it. The Democrats hate it because they think that it does great damage to unions, is the primary reason they hate it. <\/p>\n

They also hate it because the Republicans are providing the necessary push to get it passed, which kind of bothers me. Since it\u2019s an Obama deal, the odds are it isn\u2019t good. Since it\u2019s an Obama deal, the odds are the United States is gonna take it in the shorts, as we have on so much of the Obama agenda, both domestic and foreign policy. One of the things, and there are many — and by the way, it hasn\u2019t changed. They would not allow any of this deal to be paid made public. Members of Congress, House and Senate, had to go to a private room to read it. They weren\u2019t allowed to take any notes. Well, they could take notes. They couldn\u2019t leave with their notes. They weren\u2019t allowed to tell anybody what they read. <\/p>\n

Jeff Sessions had a massive op-ed piece and floor speech in the Senate about this. It\u2019s a disaster, just on that basis alone. It\u2019s not how things happen in this country. Cybercast News Service just posted a story that the trade deal, the Obama Pacific partner trade deal, whatever it\u2019s called, will eliminate trade barriers with North Vietnam — well, Vietnam. Vietnam is a communist Regime. It\u2019s running a $24.9 billion trade deficit with the US, and the transpacific partnership that Obama is negotiating with 11 other nations seeks to eliminate both tariff and nontariff trade barriers with these countries. <\/p>\n

I\u2019ll tell you, to understand this stuff, Obama said something when he normalized or began the process of normalizing relations with Cuba. He said something to the effect that, if we\u2019ve been doing things a certain way for 50 years and they\u2019re not working, why, it\u2019s time for a change. Of course, that doesn\u2019t apply to our own welfare state and failed Democrat policy after failed Democrat policy, but it is applicable when dealing with Iran, the Middle East, Israel and Palestine, and now dealing with foreign regimes who owe us money. We\u2019re just gonna wipe it out. We\u2019re gonna eliminate their debt all because the only reason they have the debt is because we\u2019re such a mean superpower, and it\u2019s up to us to make it up to them for being the way we have been.<\/p>\n
