RUSH: I\u2019ve been seeing this guy on CNN all week but I haven\u2019t had the sound up. Well, I\u2019ve not been sure. I thought it was a guy. I wasn\u2019t sure. I never saw a name. I just read the chyron graphics and some of the closed-captioning going by.<\/p>\n

I was under the impression that this person was on promoting and approving and applauding what Jenner was doing<\/a> and that CNN was therefore applauding and promoting — and all that — what Jenner was doing. Which, of course, from a political standpoint made perfect sense. It\u2019s CNN. I later found out who this was, and it\u2019s the exact opposite of what I thought was going. It\u2019s Walt Heyer. Does the name ring a bell to you? <\/p>\n

Walter Heyer is “a 74-year-old transsexual who deeply regrets his decision has come forward to caution those who think that transgenderism solves people\u2019s psychosexual problems. In a CNN interview on Tuesday, Walt Heyer warned viewers that the relief accompanying gender reassignment surgery doesn\u00c2\u2019t last.” In fact, he went back. He was a man, transgendered female, and went back to who he was. He\u2019s now 74 years old. <\/p>\n

“After Jenner expressed exhilaration over the Vanity Fair cover, Heyer responded that such elation is normal, but transient. Heyer acknowledged that ‘this is really the most exciting time in a transgender\u2019s life.\u2019 It is, he said, ‘the debut,\u2019 when ‘all the things that you had hoped and thought about are coming about.\u2019 From personal experience, however, and from the many transgender people who write to him, Heyer says he knows ‘this doesn\u2019t always last.\u2019<\/line><\/p>\n

“‘It\u2019s sort of like, you know, going down to the bar and you\u2019re having a good time and you drink it up good and then, you know, you wake up with a hangover,\u2019 he said. In an essay earlier this year, Heyer offered a chilling autobiographical account of abuse and gender confusion, sexual reassignment surgery, a short reprieve from anxiety and eventually deep regret at his decision.” In fact, this guy Heyer… He spells it H-e-y-e-r. Walter Heyer.<\/p>\n

His essay here sounds exactly like what that doctor at Johns Hopkins says about this, that it\u2019s a mental illness, it\u2019s a mental disease, and it needs treatment, compassion, and therapy; that it isn\u2019t possible. There\u2019s no such thing as changing your gender. It\u2019s all a myth, and it\u2019s not healthy. It isn\u2019t good, and we ought not be celebrating it. I pointed this out some months ago, and I\u2019m surprised. <\/p>\n

I thought this guy would be vilified and attacked and destroyed, because it was in the Wall Street Journal. He wrote his op-ed in the Wall Street Journal<\/a>, and it just literally was ignored. Nobody said a word about it. But in this essay, “Heyer, now reverted to his male identity and married to his wife for 18 years, spends his energy raising public awareness of the disastrous penalties of gender reassignment. ‘Changing genders is short-term gain with long-term pain,\u2019 writes Heyer.<\/p>\n

“‘Its consequences include early mortality, regret, mental illness, and suicide.'” It\u2019s exactly what the Johns Hopkins doctor said. He said the suicide rate among transgenders is 20 times the suicide rate for people who are not transgendered, or we can say the general population. The consequences of transgenderism include “early mortality,” for those of you in Rio Linda, that means you die sooner, “regret, mental illness, and suicide.” This story is on Breitbart<\/a>, but this guy said this on CNN earlier this week. <\/p>\n

“Clinical studies would seem to confirm Heyer\u2019s conclusions. A review of more than 100 international medical studies of post-operative transgenders carried out in the UK in 2004 found ‘no robust scientific evidence that gender reassignment surgery is clinically effective.'” Now, I\u2019ll tell you something, folks. I know a lot of you are… Well, not a lot. Some of you, the Stick-to-the-Issues Crowd, are writing me.<\/p>\n

“Will you stop talking about this! I look at you as a political mentor. I don\u2019t care about this!” This is politics, folks. This is my point. From top to bottom, beginning to end, every bit of this is politics, and the politics of this is exactly what I explained yesterday. There\u2019s an effort here to redefine normal.<\/a> The effort to redefine normal is a political effort of the population that less than 2% of the country. In the case of transgenders, the transgender population of this country is 0.4%, 0.5%. <\/p>\n

It\u2019s minuscule. <\/p>\n

<\/a>But they are now the spearhead of a political agenda that used to be led by the militant homosexual political aspects, but they\u2019ve mainstreamed with gay marriage and people that most of the accept it. But they can\u2019t let the movement die. So transgenders are now picking up the slack, or people speaking for transgenders are picking up slack. It is politics, folks, and the politics is specifically this. <\/p>\n

The quest to redefine “normal” is an attack on traditional morality, an attack on mainstream Christianity. It\u2019s an effort to say, “If you\u2019re gonna redefine normal, you gotta redefine weird.” If you\u2019re gonna say that whatever is 0.4% of the population is normal, well, guess what becomes weird? Guess who the weirdos become? That\u2019s the political aspect of this. If you don\u2019t believe that and if you don\u2019t understand, open your eyes<\/p>\n

That is the root of the so-called branding problem the Republican Party has, because the Republican Party is what? The Republican Party is said to be insensitive to all this. The Republican Party and conservatives are said not to care about people, and to be mean-spirited and extremist and all of them other isms, racism, bigotryism, homophobism, all of this. That is what the Republican Party image is. <\/p>\n

The people attempting to rebrand the party are trying to rebrand it as the oddballs, the kooks, the weirdos, the unhip, the uncool. The hip and cool gay rights, gay marriage, all this other stuff that has traditionally not been defined as normal — either, in terms of morality or simply cultural majorities and minorities — it\u2019s an attempt to redefine it, and that\u2019s the political agenda here. Many of these people in these groups — the homosexual population, the transgender population — are tools. <\/p>\n

They\u2019re not all activists. <\/p>\n

Very few of them are, actually. <\/p>\n

They\u2019re being used and dragged along in this, and that\u2019s the politics of it. If you think I\u2019m abandoning politics by talking about this, you do not yet understand this program, because thanks to the Democrat Party and the American left, there isn\u2019t anything that isn\u2019t politics. They\u2019re trying to politicize football now, folks, and use it, aspects of it — and now FIFA and soccer — to advance the leftist agenda. <\/p>\n

Everything is part of the attempt to advance the leftist agenda. The proof of it is, you can\u2019t find this story Walter Heyer anywhere. He goes on CNN, but it doesn\u2019t make it beyond CNN. It\u2019s reported at Breitbart. Nobody else is talking about this. If this guy\u2019s right, what Jenner is doing is really harmful to himself, and what a lot of them are doing is harmful. If there were really true compassion on the Democrat side, they would not be promoting this. <\/p>\n

But you see, in our culture today, tolerance and equality and human rights has now come to mean, “Whatever you want to do is fine, especially if it offends somebody; then it\u2019s even better. If it offends Rush Limbaugh, if it offends Sarah Palin, if it offends the Republican Party, then you\u2019re really on the right track,” and that\u2019s the politics of it. When in fact it isn\u2019t healthy, and that\u2019s what Mr. Heyer is saying. So here\u2019s two examples — an actual transgender writing and being interviewed on CNN, telling the truth about it, and Dr. Paul McHugh at Johns Hopkins — both being ignored. <\/p>\n

And you would have to say that both are experts. <\/p>\n

<\/a>“As a former transgender myself –” this is Walter Heyer writing “– as a former transgender myself, I found it painful to see Jenner looking so fragile, exhibiting an uncertain nervousness throughout the interview.” I guess this is with Diane Sawyer. “I see Jenner and my heart sinks with sadness; my stomach aches in pain. When Jenner said, ‘I want to know how this story ends, you know?\u2019 a rush of concern filled me. I know one possible outcome of the story — great pain to kids, wife, family and even to himself. I want to yell at him, ‘Stop! The bridge is out.\u2019<\/p>\n

Heyer\u2019s prognosis for Jenner is not bright, though he admits there is hope. “As long as the television lights are on and the cameras are rolling, being in the spotlight he enjoys, Jenner will be fine.” Yes. And of course I\u2019m sorry, folks, I can\u2019t totally abandon the little bzz bzz bzz bzz in my head that says publicity stunt. After all, we\u2019re talking about the Kardashians here, at the end of the day. <\/p>\n

“But when the lights go dim,” writes Mr. Heyer “and the cameras are no longer rolling, he will face the most difficult time of his life. His celebrated change of gender could turn on him and become the cause of deep depression, which, left untreated, according to those who study the causes of suicide, is the number one cause for suicide.” And it is, the suicide rate in transgenders is 20 times that of the general population. <\/p>\n

“Having been incorrectly diagnosed and pressured into a sex-change operation, Heyer is deeply sensitive to the plight of the many young people today who are confused about their own sexuality and receive mixed messages from a society eager for them to take steps that can never be undone. ‘Instead of encouraging them to undergo unnecessary and destructive surgery, let\u00c2\u2019s affirm and love our young people just the way they are,\u2019 he wrote.”<\/p>\n

Well, I\u2019m all for that, but at the same time people have to love themselves. People have to love themselves before anybody else will, other than familial love. I mean, that\u2019s a bond. “Heyer has little patience for ‘enlightened\u2019 parents who think they are doing their children a favor by playing up their confusion and catering to their ‘dreams of being the opposite gender.\u2019 Though motivated by a desire to be open-minded and supportive, this parental behavior is ultimately destructive, says Heyer.”<\/p>\n

Have you heard this anywhere on TV, folks? Have you seen this? I saw him on CNN. I didn\u2019t bother to turn the sound up. I thought obviously CNN, it would be somebody promoting this, but apparently not. “Walt Heyer now runs a website, SexChangeRegret.com<\/a>, as well as a blog, hoping in this way to educate the broader public on the tragic consequences of transsexualism.”<\/p>\n

Again, he is one, so this is not unrelated, unattached bias. You know what\u2019s interesting here? He admits that he was incorrectly diagnosed and pressured into doing this. Now, who would do that? One of Obama\u2019s doctors that does amputations unnecessarily for the quick extra buck? Obviously some politicized psychosurgeon or what have you, and they\u2019re all over the place out there on the left. But of course, no, nothing is wrong, you\u2019re not wrong, nothing you do is wrong. That\u2019s who you are, live it, love it.<\/p>\n

The absence of guardrails and the absence of a strong morality, which I believe the vast majority of people really want. People want to know where the lines are. People want to know where the boundaries are. People that don\u2019t, never taught their boundaries, they\u2019re the most confused, miserable, unhappy people. They\u2019re not free. They\u2019re not liberated. It\u2019s just the exact opposite. <\/p>\n

So I understand that many of you think this is not politics, but it\u2019s all politics. Every bit of it. Because these people, just like everybody else that votes Democrat, are being used to advance one or more aspects of the Democrat agenda. <\/p>\n

Here comes ESPN giving Jenner the Arthur Ashe Courage Award, do you realize that blew up on Twitter? In something that, Mr. Snerdley, might give you hope for the American culture: “Twitter users are threatening to boycott ESPN after it was announced that former Olympic athlete Caitlyn Jenner would be awarded the Arthur Ashe Award for Courage at the 2015 ESPYs.<\/p>\n

“The hashtag #BoycottESPN is trending on Twitter, with many users pointing to athletes they believe have shown more courage than Jenner. … One of the popular choices is Lauren Hill, a 19-year-old cancer patient who fulfilled her dream of playing college basketball before her untimely death.<\/p>\n

“Others recommended Noah Galloway, the double amputee Iraq veteran who became a long distance runner and a contestant on Dancing With The Stars. But the overarching theme was displeasure with the choice of Jenner.”<\/p>\n

Hell, even Tom Cruise\u2019s kid came out against Jenner getting the ESPY award. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
