CALLER: Thanks, Rush: 24\/7<\/a> Land of Enchantment, gender-neutral dittos.<\/p>\n

RUSH: (laughing) “The Land of Enchantment, gender-neutral dittos.” Great to have you here.<\/p>\n

CALLER: It\u2019s a real privilege to be on here. People don\u2019t realize how tough it is to get on here. I was just thinking, if there\u2019s no difference in the genders and it\u2019s just a social construct — which we\u2019ve been told — and knowing that there\u2019s going to be issues about how to handle transgenders, why don\u2019t we go ahead and take advantage of this and just eliminate sex-segregated sports. You know, like, why do we have the WNBA? Why don\u2019t we just have the NBA? Why do we need the LPGA? Let\u2019s just get rid of that and let\u2019s just go with gender neutral and then we\u2019ll solve problems. On top of that, the real benefit is the colleges can do it and get rid of all their Title IX issues.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, ha! Fat chance of that. Title IX is actually about much more than fairness for women in athletics. It\u2019s used as a bludgeon for a number of thing. But I want to make sure I understand this. You want to get rid of gender identity in the sports. Instead of LPGA, we just got the PGA?<\/line><\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: It has men and women and whoever wins whoever qualifies shows up, men and women, and the same thing in NBA. No WNBA. It\u2019s just the NBA.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: If any of the babes in the WNBA can qualify to play the Cleveland Cavaliers, then they play for \u2019em. If they don\u2019t, they don\u2019t. Is that your idea?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, that\u2019s the idea. That\u2019s equality, and that\u2019s what we\u2019re shooting for, right?<\/p>\n

RUSH: No! No, because what that would point out… What do you think the end result-of-that would be?<\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughing)<\/p>\n

RUSH See, that\u2019s actually a plot that evil Republicans and conservatives would hatch.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, everything\u2019s about equality now, and to me that\u2019s the essence.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah. Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: You know, even in marriage we have equality.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s exactly right, and what your plan would do would illustrate and manifest total inequality because not a single woman would qualify to do anything.<\/p>\n

CALLER: But I thought it was just a “social construct,” these differences between men and women.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, the social construct is going to have consequence. If you get rid of the WNBA and you say to the women in that league, “If you want to play basketball, you gotta find a way to sign a contract with an NBA team,” the odds of that happening are nil. The LPGA, there might be a couple of women\u2019s golfers who could make the PGA, but, I mean, it would be the end of women\u2019s sports. It\u2019d be the ultimate discriminatory thing to do. <\/p>\n

CALLER: But —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Your idea is that gender neutral is equality. (chuckles) But it would once again illustrate the vast inequality when it comes to athletic and sports endeavors.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, but again, I thought the whole issue that the left really wants to push is that there\u2019s no differences between men and women. You know, women can do anything a man can do. You know, “Anything you can do, I can do better.” So, you know, if men happen to be better at sports, well, more power to \u2019em.<\/p>\n

RUSH: No.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Should be —<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, no. See, that\u2019s where it breaks down. That\u2019s where you are misunderstanding the purpose of gender neutrality and equality. The whole point of all this is to be able — not just in sports and everything, but in virtually everything — to allow the underachieved, the under-accomplished, the unequal, the not-as-good to infiltrate\/participate in\/take over all of these institutions dominated by the best.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, you know, again —<\/p>\n

RUSH: I know you think I don\u2019t get what you\u2019re talking about.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: But I do, and I\u2019m two steps ahead of you here.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019m imagining your idea put into play, and what it would result in, and it would result in the women — the NAGs and all of that — just going absolutely batty.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, Rush, that\u2019s really my point. The whole thing is if they really want gender neutrality, then that\u2019s not what they want. I mean, that\u2019s exactly what they don\u2019t want, and they give all these words.<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: Exactly.<\/p>\n

CALLER: You said a while ago, “We lost the language,” and I think that\u2019s absolutely true. You know, things like equality. “Marriage equality.” It\u2019s not “marriage equality.” It\u2019s marriage redefinition.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: So I think that is a real key. We\u2019ve allowed the left call us “homophobes.” A “phobia” is an irrational fear. Well, I don\u2019t agree with homosexuality, but I don\u2019t have irrational fear of homosexuals. So I think that\u2019s a huge point that we on the right need to make and we need to start standing stand up and defending ourselves. And, of course, you\u2019re the main voice that does that on the right, the Big Voice on the Right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, and people see what happens to me, and they don\u2019t want any part of it. So they\u2019re just content to live behind a gate.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Rush, I\u2019ve had a little experience with that, too. I wrote some letters to the editor and different things a while back. The vileness that you get and the attacks you get and, of course, you\u2019re a homophobe if you disagree. There was a guy last night, you talked about the Duggars and Megyn Kelly, the Robert Zimmerman guy, did you see him on there last night, talking about the Duggars. He called \u2019em hateful, bigoted, and ignorant. So, you know, essentially anybody who doesn\u2019t agree with the left\u2019s view, you\u2019re a homophobe, you\u2019re hateful, you\u2019re bigoted, or you\u2019re ignorant.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s right. That\u2019s how they shut you up. It\u2019s practiced, it\u2019s intentional. You talk about gender inequality, or equality and neutrality, try this. I just found out, you know, show prep never stops, even on get-away day. You know, most people on a day like this, most hosts would be phoning it in, just nothing but phone calls and not even half listening to the callers, just going, “Yeah, yeah, yeah, thanks, and next call you\u2019re up,” but I\u2019m here, and I\u2019m engaged, and even during the breaks I\u2019m doing show prep. <\/p>\n

You know what I just found? TIME magazine has just published a column on feminism by Miss Piggy<\/a>. A freaking puppet has a column on feminism in TIME magazine. Now, this creates curiosity, the question. Is it this bad for TIME magazine, has it gotten this bad that in order find an audience, they have to have a pig, lovable, adorable pig, nevertheless a pig puppet, write a column on feminism? <\/p>\n

We\u2019ve got a puppet, a pig puppet writing a column on discrimination against women. And it\u2019s not the person who created the puppet, and it\u2019s not the person who plays the puppet. It is actually, TIME wants you to believe that Miss Piggy herself actually wrote this. I\u2019ve often maintained, by the way, that Miss Piggy was actually modeled after a human being, and I think I know which one.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: See, this is how it happens. Snerdley, he\u2019s not really arguing with me, but he said, “You really think that you take maybe the best players in the WNBA and they couldn\u2019t make it in the NBA?” I said, “There\u2019s no doubt about it.”<\/p>\n

I mean, look, there\u2019s always exceptions, but I\u2019m telling you if you take this guy\u2019s suggestion and you get rid of gender oriented leagues and you have the National Basketball Association, the NBA, and it\u2019s made up of the best players, you\u2019re not gonna have — see, you can\u2019t win here. You might have one or two women make a team, and why would that happen? Some owner would think it\u2019s a marketing thing to do it. <\/p>\n

Do you know what the big thing happening in the WNBA is? I never heard of the Duggars, but I know this. You know what\u2019s happening in WNBA right now? They can\u2019t get anybody out to watch it. A, they play it in the summertime when everybody\u2019s tired of basketball. The championships, the NBA, are over, here comes the WNBA, people have spent their emotional reservoir on basketball with the NBA championships. Here comes the WNBA, you know what the big push is now? I saw it the other day. <\/p>\n

Lower the basket<\/a>, yeah, because the average height of an NBA player was whatever they said it was, 6\u20196 or 6\u20197 and you just can\u2019t expect women to play on the same size court as these men with the basket that high, what is it, 10 feet, can\u2019t expect that. You gotta lower the basket, generate more scoring. You gotta get people out to pay to come watch the games. They\u2019re trying to devise ways to create more scoring, make it look more exciting. <\/p>\n

Folks, this is one of those made-to-order of circumstances, put a bag of excrement in front of me, and if honesty is called for I\u2019ll do it and that results in me stepping in the bag. So I\u2019ve got two choices. Just leave it there and not take it any further or tell you the truth about this. And in so doing put myself in the news all next week when I\u2019m not here, which would allow the media to further this whole War on Women thing that the Republicans supposedly perpetuate, so I\u2019m not gonna do it. <\/line><\/p>\n

I\u2019m just gonna ask you to use your common sense. All we\u2019re doing is bouncing off a caller, he\u2019s trying to make a different point anyway. But because I happened to point out that — can you imagine, give me a position, besides kicker, that you think a woman could survive playing in the NFL. Okay? All right. (itnerruption) Oh, so never in the NFL. Never. 99.9% of men could not survive in the NFL. Those guys are a different breed. You couldn\u2019t put a woman out there in any position. You wouldn\u2019t do it. A compassionate, considerate society would not do this. <\/p>\n

That\u2019s why this whole women in combat thing came up and it was much the same kind of thing but different considerations there, having to do with the differences in men and women and humanity and the propagation of the race and so forth. Now, basketball, still a contact sport. What do you think\u2019s gonna happen? Okay, so you find your best WNBA player, whatever, put \u2019em on the Miami Heat and they\u2019re in Cleveland playing the Cavaliers, what do you think\u2019s gonna happen? <\/p>\n

A woman\u2019s driving to the basket and the men are gonna get out of the way. You\u2019re raised not to hit the girl. It wouldn\u2019t work. And if they treated the female player like they treated other male players, then the audience, the crowd would think it\u2019s unfair, start booing. “You didn\u2019t have to do that. You didn\u2019t have to cut her off that way, gee whiz, knocked on her butt, what are do you doing?” All kinds of catcalls would happen.<\/p>\n

The LPGA, now, that\u2019s a different ball of wax. The problem there is that if you look at an LPGA tournament they\u2019re not playing 7,200 yards like the men do. The drive is the key there. If you can\u2019t, from a particular set of tees, if you just cannot reach a green in either a par 3 or a par 4 in regulation from the tee box, you\u2019ve got to move up. Well, they\u2019re not gonna move the men up in order to accommodate a couple of women who might make it. One year, what was it, Annika Sorenstam played in the Colonial down in Houston on Ben Hogan\u2019s course. It was a big deal. She got a sponsor exemption.<\/p>\n

She played in it one year and she played from the men\u2019s tees, and she made a go of it. I don\u2019t think she made the cut, but everybody was pulling for her. But there was no equality there. Everybody was pulling for her, they were hoping. But golf, nobody could get in her way. I mean, you\u2019re not playing anybody but the course in golf. So that may be a little different. But contact sports is just… it\u2019s not. <\/p>\n

Anyway, the point that he was making was this is what you\u2019re gonna have. If there\u2019s no difference in men and women, then throw \u2019em out there together and see what happens. Well, if you threw \u2019em out there together when there\u2019s no difference in gender, we\u2019re all considered to be the same, not different from each other, and if everything\u2019s merit based, well, sorry. I\u2019m gonna stop there, folks, if I keep going here and dot the I\u2019s and cross the T\u2019s with just common sense honesty, then I\u2019m creating a War on Women problem here.
