RUSH: You know, you\u2019ve got Trump out there saying that Mexico is sending the worst people they have to immigrate to the United States. They\u2019re sending criminals. Rapists. Purse snatchers. Muggers. Drug addicts. And, of course, the Drive-By media is literally beside itself. In fact, I want to go back and grab a sound bite from earlier in the program. I want you to grab number five. This is Trump. He was on CNN talking to Don Lemon<\/a>. And Don Lemon said to Trump, “Why did you have to say the Mexicans were rapists, Donald?”<\/p>\n

DONALD: I didn\u2019t say it about Mexicans. I said the illegal immigrants. You look at the statistics on rape, on crime, on everything coming in illegally into this country; they\u2019re mind-boggling. If you go to Fusion, you\u2019ll see a story about 80% of the women coming in. I mean, you have to take a look at these stories. And you know who owns Fusion? Univision!<\/p>\n

<\/a>LEMON: I read the Washington Post. I read the Fusion. I read the Huffington Post. And that\u2019s about women being raped. It\u2019s not about criminals coming across the border or entering the country. <\/p>\n

DONALD: Well, somebody\u2019s doing the raping, Don. You know, I mean, somebody is doing it. You saying it\u2019s women being raped. Well, who is doing the raping? Who\u2019s doing the raping?<\/p>\n

RUSH: It seems a natural question. I mean, Lemon says (imitating Lemon), “Hey, I\u2019ve read those stories. I\u2019m seeing all the stories about women being raped. Why did you have to say it\u2019s the Mexicans?” Well, Don, who is doing the raping? The stories are about female immigrants coming to the country and being raped and assaulted and so forth during the trek. And this is the way the liberals look at this stuff. Okay, there\u2019s women being raped over here, and as far as they\u2019re concerned, it must be happening at college campuses because that is what they read on the Huffington Post. <\/p>\n

Do you realize how many — by the way, I had somebody yesterday who made a point that Millennials swear by the New York Times and some of these other really fringe, untrustworthy, obviously bigoted, biased news organizations. And I had some people email me, “How do you know? Why do you think that\u2019s the case?” I\u2019ll tell you how I know it. The people I\u2019m talking about, the 18 to 34-year-olds do not watch television news, folks. They get everything on their devices. They watch television on their devices. They watch video on their devices. <\/p>\n

They want to watch HBO, Showtime, whatever it is on their devices. They get their news on devices. And most of them get their news from Facebook, Twitter, which is simply somebody reads the New York Times in the morning and repeats and posts what\u2019s in the New York Times and that\u2019s how it happens. Or they subscribe to news aggregator sites. Sites like Flipboard. There are any number of these things. I\u2019m running a beta right now of iOS 9, the next software coming up for the iPhone and the iPad. And there\u2019s a new feature. Apple is attempting to come up with their own version of Google Now. And I\u2019m not going to go into great detail about what it does. <\/p>\n

But one of the new things is you have your home page; it used to be that if you dragged the home page right, you would get a brand-new page, and that was the search page. That is now missing. In iOS 8, the way you get the search is you drag down from any home page. Well, they\u2019ve reestablished the search page left of the number one home screen or home page, and that is where your frequent contacts are. It\u2019s where they\u2019re going to attempt to find out what you do before you do it. <\/p>\n

The bottom half of that is the latest news, without — and I know it\u2019s beta. Without fail… Without fail, every day, all day, it\u2019s either the Huffing and Puffington Post or the New York Times. There\u2019s three different sources in there, three different news stories. And two of them are always the New York Times or Huffing and Puffington Post. Others are Yahoo. Some are USA Today. But nothing that you read is what we would read.<\/p>\n

No Breitbart. No Fox News. No… take your pick of what you would read on the Web. Well, it\u2019s the same thing with all these young people. At the places they go to get news, the New York Times is the lead newspaper that all of these websites offer. So the Millennials are not going to the New York Times website, per se. Some of them probably are. But the apps and the various sorts of places that they get news supply what the New York Times does, and then the Huffing and Puffington Post is number two. <\/line><\/p>\n

The Huffing and Puffington Post, by the way, is the equivalent of Air America succeeding, which it didn\u2019t. That\u2019s how oddball, off-the-charts extreme it is. But to a lot of people, it\u2019s mainstream. So that\u2019s what I mean in answer to the snarky questions. “How do you know they\u2019re reading the…?” I know because I look at what they look at. They don\u2019t have to be told that the New York Times is the world\u2019s greatest newspaper. They didn\u2019t grow up hearing that. It\u2019s just the places they go to get news, that\u2019s what\u2019s there. <\/p>\n

Any number of these news aggregator sites.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s why I suggested when I found out Apple was going to do this, that they hire Drudge. Apple thinks different. They do different things. The Drudge page is everything. There\u2019s New York Times stuff on the Drudge page. But other things that nobody cares to link to. Anyway, I don\u2019t need to spend more time on that. I\u2019m just answering your question of how this all happens. They\u2019re not reading the newspaper. They don\u2019t go to Starbucks with the actual newspaper. <\/p>\n

They go with their Phones and their Pads.<\/p>\n

I mean, I guess some of them use Samsung. Whatever. They click on their social media apps, and right there it is: What\u2019s the latest in the New York Times, and then what happened on The Daily Show, and then the Huffing and Puffington Post. Anyway, here\u2019s Trump. And he\u2019s out there and he\u2019s telling Don Lemon, “Don, who is doing the raping? I mean, if you got all these women being raped, somebody is raping them? Who are the rapists?” And Lemon doesn\u2019t go that far. <\/p>\n

As far as he\u2019s concerned, he\u2019s seen the stories on women being raped, and that\u2019s all he needs to know. “Women being raped” equals “America is bad.” “Women being raped” equals “women are discriminated against in America.” As far as he\u2019s concerned, he probably thinks it\u2019s happening on campus because the news sources that he believes reports that there\u2019s a “rape crisis” on campus, when there isn\u2019t. So he was totally befuddled by Trump\u2019s question. “Well, Don, who is doing the raping?” <\/p>\n

Well, now, add to this mix Obama. Obama has now weighed in at a town hall in Madison, Tennessee, yesterday. “President Obama referred to some illegal immigrants as ‘gang-bangers,<\/a>‘ adding further that those criminal migrants should be deported ‘as quickly as possible.'” Well, now, will Macy\u2019s start boycotting Obama? Will NBC refuse to cover anymore Obama public appearances? He just called illegal immigrants gang-bangers! What is a gang-banger? Well, it\u2019s not good. <\/p>\n
