CALLER: Well, thank you, Rush. I appreciate everything you do every day. I don\u2019t know how you don\u2019t get burned out.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Love it too much.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I see.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You know, I love it too much.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, my comment is that this president is the personification of an oxymoron. He wants to disarm this country while he\u2019s willing to arm the rest of the world.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, yeah, it\u2019s an interesting point. Now, Iran is already armed. I mean, they have plenty of weapons. They just don\u2019t have nuclear. They do now, though. He-he.<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s the ultimate weapon.<\/p>\n

RUSH: It is.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And I took notice, too, I was listening while I was on hold, and I realized that this compromise that they have done is exactly what the Democrats expect from the Republicans every time we talk about anything.<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: Now, that is a clever observation. And what you mean is our compromise with the Iranians is essentially what the Democrats demand of the Republicans.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, to give up everything.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Give up everything.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: It\u2019s an interesting question, as Tom Brokaw would say, talking to Charlie Rose. (imitating Brokaw) “It\u2019s an interesting question. I don\u2019t know what Obama does, thinks, reads, or.” Why does Obama appear so concerned with what the Iranians think of him and think of us? Why does Obama consider himself subordinate to the Iranians, instead of more powerful than, larger than, bigger than? Why does Obama bow to the king of Saudi Arabia? What is it about Middle Eastern leaders, and it\u2019s not just them, I mean, he bows to a lot of people. <\/p>\n

But contrast the way Obama deals with Republicans, domestically, and Fox News, contrast that to the way he behaves with the Iranians. It\u2019s like I\u2019ve always said, we are a much bigger threat to him than the Ayatollah Khamenei and President Rouhani, because he never looks at them as people who could take his power away. He does look at us as people who want to take his power away by beating him in elections and beating him politically. So we are a much bigger threat. But when it comes to the Iranians, it\u2019s, “Hey, let\u2019s be buds. Hey, let\u2019s end every day with a smile,” as John Kerry told Christiane Amanpour about his negotiating sessions with the Iranian counterpart. <\/p>\n

Jeff, Springfield, Illinois, you\u2019re next. Great to have you on the Rush Limbaugh program. Hi.<\/line><\/p>\n

CALLER: Hi, Rush. How you doing?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Good. Thank you, sir.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey, I just wanted to let you know I listen to you every day. Even I\u2019m a pretty liberal guy, I just like to get both sides of the story. So I listen to you every day, so I appreciate what you guys have to say there. Listen, the reason I\u2019m calling is because I don\u2019t really know how big a deal any of this is. We didn\u2019t lose our power to go to war if we don\u2019t like what they\u2019re doing. The sanctions aren\u2019t working. I mean, I know you said they\u2019re working, but from best guess everyone says they\u2019re less than a year away from being able to get a nuke, right?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wait, wait, wait, wait. I need to go back, I\u2019m not sure I heard you correctly. Did you say we did or did not lose our ability to go to war?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah. If we don\u2019t like what they\u2019re doing, I mean, it\u2019s not like we can\u2019t invade or go to war or do what we need to do, so we didn\u2019t lose that ability. If the sanctions really aren\u2019t working, and they\u2019re not. They might slow \u2019em down but it\u2019s not stopping \u2019em. So if they\u2019re really only a year away or even less than two years away from getting a nuke, isn\u2019t this still better than going to war now? I mean, we can always go to war, but isn\u2019t it at least better now? And then about those four people who are being held there that weren\u2019t released, this is something I really didn\u2019t like about the Democrats, I believe they will be released over a period of time over the next six months to show some kind of good faith by the Iranians because of this —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Now, I know how this is done. I know how you guys pull this off. You live on Fantasy Island. You really, really do. You live in a fantasy world.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: I, Rush Limbaugh, am the mayor of Realville. I don\u2019t live in a fantasy world. I don\u2019t live on Fantasy Island. I don\u2019t live in the Land of Make Believe. And I don\u2019t tell myself things are peachy keen when they\u2019re not. <\/p>\n

Folks, I really am not through with the Iranian stuff. I\u2019ve got sound bites galore, and I\u2019m gonna get some of them. But I\u2019m gonna get into some other stuff first before I get back and double back with these sound bites. But, but, but, just one thing here. When Obama went out there and made his speech this morning with Biden standing over his right shoulder, one of the things Obama said is: “Every path to a nuclear weapon has been cut off.” He said, “The deal is not just built on trust, but on verification.” <\/line><\/p>\n

Now, look… We\u2019ve had the two liberal callers today, nice people, New Castrati. Well, one of them was. Charles from Martha\u2019s Vineyard<\/a> and one from… What was it, Oklahoma? The last one, our last caller? Where was he from? That doesn\u2019t matter. The bottom line is, “Everything\u2019s okay because it\u2019s gonna be okay. It\u2019s just fine.” The caller from Martha\u2019s Vineyard said, “Yeah, we can\u2019t stop Iran from getting a nuke. They were too close. But we can now check.” <\/p>\n

They tell themselves these things to make themselves feel better about what they know is a disastrous thing and they end up believing the lies they tell to each other and themselves. I guess you can say they believe Obama when he goes out and says, “Every path to a nuclear weapon\u2019s been cut off. The deal is not built on trust; it\u2019s built on verification.” Yet in the Jerusalem Post today, an Obama administration official is quoted as saying there are no anytime, anywhere inspections. Well, what the hell is inspections if it\u2019s not verification? <\/p>\n

How can you verify if you can\u2019t inspect? While Obama\u2019s out saying “every path to a nuclear weapon\u2019s been cut off,” and “it\u2019s not based on trust, it\u2019s built on verification,” an Obama administration official said, quote, “I don\u2019t think that any time, anywhere inspections are feasible. It\u2019s just not something that happens anywhere in the world today.” What does this mean? We think they cheat so we call \u2019em up?<\/p>\n

“Are you cheating?” <\/p>\n

(Mullah impression) “Noooo. Us? We are your buddies now! What do you mean? How dare you accuse us!” <\/p>\n

“Okay, okay, okay. Just checking. Have a great day.” <\/p>\n

And that\u2019s it? “Negotiators failed to meet the standard of achieving ‘anytime, anywhere\u2019 access that several members of the United States Congress had demanded as a part of any nuclear deal.” Obama and his team promised Congress and the American people that there would be anytime, anywhere inspections; anytime, anywhere access. Now we know that that\u2019s not true, either. Just to repeat: In the event we think there\u2019s a cheat, or there has been a violation, we don\u2019t get to go see or check. <\/p>\n

We have to call the International Atomic Energy Agency, and then they call the Iranians. From the moment they call the Iranians and say, “There\u2019s been an allegation you\u2019re cheating,” a 14-day window opens for the Iranians and the Atomic Energy Agency to negotiate whether or not somebody will be allowed in to check. If the 14 days go by and there\u2019s no resolution, then another three days are triggered, and if nothing happens then, then nothing happens. <\/p>\n

There\u2019s a total of 24 days that can go by with nothing happening after the original request for verification\u2019s been made. The Iranians can say “no” at any time, and there\u2019s no mechanism to do anything other than agree with them when they say “no.” We have no mechanism to verify any kind of a fear that we have, or any evidence that we have, that they\u2019re cheating. So “every path to a nuclear weapon has [not] been cut off,” not even close, and the deal is built on trust and not verification because we don\u2019t have any verification rights in this deal. <\/p>\n

The four American prisoners among whom one is a journalist that were not released as a result of the deal? “No big deal! No big deal! They will be. The Iranians are good people, but we have to allow them to save face. They\u2019ll be released in a week or two or a month or two so that the Iranians can make it look like they didn\u2019t cave to anything, and they have their manhood intact.” This is another thing we\u2019ve learned today about the thought process. <\/p>\n

Now, let me ask you something else. Over in Moscow keeping an eagle eye on all of this is Vladimir Putin and Dmitry Medvedev. What do you think they are seeing today? What kind of message has been sent to ISIS, for example? I mean, what do we do and ISIS kidnapped the 200 some girls? We sent Michelle (My Belle) Obama out there with a hashtag, a Twitter hashtag. What was it, the Twitter hashtag? <\/line><\/p>\n

We were gonna really, really tough. The hashtag was #BringBackOurGirls, #BringBackOurGirls. We went hashtag military strategy, and the girls have not been returned. More have been kidnapped. More have been killed. And when I pointed out that hashtags were nothing but a joke, I was excoriated for having no humanity. See, I\u2019m the mayor of Realville, and that\u2019s bad.<\/p>\n

If you want to be accredited — if you want to be thought of as a great, compassionate human being — then you join movements like wearing colored ribbons or you join hashtag movements. “That really says something about you! That says you\u2019re really a good person!” But if you actually point out that that\u2019s not gonna matter a hill of beans to anything? “Well, you have just become a real meany, and you don\u2019t have any humanity. That\u2019s really, really mean!” <\/p>\n

It\u2019s cockeyed. <\/p>\n
