RUSH: Here\u2019s Sharon in Sumrall, Alabama. It\u2019s great to have you with us. Hi.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, hi, Rush. Thanks for helping us to keep us sane out here.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I\u2019m glad that I\u2019m doing that.<\/p>\n

CALLER: We need you. But I have a question. If Hillary did not use her personal server to receive and send sensitive information, what did she use? A paper courier? Did she meet with everybody face-to-face? Did she use a secure land line, maybe her BlackBerry? It doesn\u2019t matter; they\u2019re all required to be recorded by law, so where are the records?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Excellent question. Has Hillary said that she didn\u2019t engage in sending and receiving classified data on the server? She has, hasn\u2019t she?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Apparently. She was not in any possession of any sensitive information whatsoever.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, doesn\u2019t make sense. What\u2019s she doing, then?<\/line><\/p>\n

CALLER: So we know she had to handle sensitive information every single day.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Absolutely.<\/p>\n

CALLER: So how did she do it? Face-to-face? Through the mail? Personal couriers?<\/p>\n

RUSH: No. She did it via e-mail like everybody else does it. That\u2019s why they have these secured systems at US.gov and so forth that she wanted to go outside of because she was doing things that she didn\u2019t want anybody else to know about.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Exactly! So if she didn\u2019t use that, she used something else, and there are records of it. So where are the records that she is required to keep?<\/p>\n

RUSH: They\u2019re gone, and we\u2019re just supposed to accept that. They\u2019re gone.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You\u2019re not supposed to ask any more questions after that, Sheryl.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right. They were never there. (chuckles) They were never any records or she could come up and say, “Oh, I asked you this; I used that. Here\u2019s my BlackBerry. Here\u2019s all my e-mails and my texts.<\/p>\n

RUSH: No! At the first she said she only used one device.<\/p>\n

CALLER: A-ha. Yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: She couldn\u2019t use two devices. It gets too confusing out there.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right. So she has no records; she kept no records. That\u2019s illegal. Whether they\u2019ll ever do anything about it, we\u2019ll all hold our breath, I\u2019m sure.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I think even beyond that incredulity is the fact she\u2019s asking us to believe that they never exchanged any written classified information.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Exactly.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Ever, never.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Or any other kind. Not by courier, not face-to-face. If you\u2019re face-to-face, you have a secretary taking notes. If you\u2019re on the phone, even a secure land line, you have records of that, and whether they\u2019re, you know, verbal records or written records —<\/p>\n

RUSH: There are transcripts of all of these things in case there are disputes down the road —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Exactly.<\/p>\n

RUSH: — in who you\u2019re selling out the country to.<\/p>\n

CALLER: So she wants us to believe she used something else. Where is it, and where are the records from it.<\/p>\n

RUSH: (chuckles) They have to… Your point is they\u2019re somewhere.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes. Well, I mean, if she didn\u2019t use her own personal server, she had to have to used something else. So simply tell us what that little was and give us the records. No big deal; it\u2019ll all be done.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, wait a minute, now. You\u2019re adding a new wrinkle here. You\u2019re saying she used something plus her server, beyond her server, in addition to her server to communicate?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, if she didn\u2019t use her server, she had to use something, a BlackBerry, you secure land line, personal couriers, bringing papers back and forth, 24\/7, or she had to meet with each and every person face-to-face.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, none of that happened. You know damn well!<\/p>\n

CALLER: (chuckling) Of course not. She must think we\u2019re stupid.<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: No, no, no. Well, she does, but that\u2019s not it. No, no. I\u2019ll tell you what they think. Within the Clinton campaign. I\u2019ll tell you what she\u2019s telling them: “This is just what always happens with us. This storm, we just ride this out. It\u2019s gonna be okay. It will be old news in a couple of months, maybe three weeks.”<\/p>\n

CALLER: Exactly.<\/p>\n

RUSH: No big deal, nothing to see here.<\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughs) Been there; done that.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah. “Been there; done that. It\u2019s just typical of what happens to the Clintons and us on the team.” Now, privately whether she thinks it\u2019s a big deal or not? Who knows?<\/p>\n

CALLER: If she didn\u2019t use her server, which has been wiped cleaned — and whoever wiped her server, I fray to goodness that they leave the country and watch their back, because we know what happens to people that help the Clintons.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Now, now.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I know.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Now. Now, now.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, we wouldn\u2019t want one to commit suicide and —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah!<\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughing)<\/p>\n

RUSH: We\u2019ll be back in a… No! No!<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Ladies and gentlemen, you have heard undoubtedly since 1992 — maybe a few years prior, but certainly since then — that Hillary Clinton\u2019s the Smartest Woman in the World. They\u2019ve meant it, by the way. I mean, that became a moniker that stuck, that the media and the Democrat Party put forth: Smartest Woman in the World. <\/p>\n

It turns out that this woman, Smartest Woman in the World, requested a book from an aide all the way back in 2009; that would be six years ago. It was a book about e-mail, and one of the chapters — I\u2019m not making this up — one of the chapters in the book was entitled, “How to Delete Something So It Stays Deleted.” (laughing) And she asked for this! Why would the smartest woman in the world do that? Why would the smartest woman in the world need a manual to learn about e-mail? <\/p>\n

I mean, this is the party of hip. This is the party of the technologically savvy. This is the party of futurists, the party that built the bridge to the twenty-first century. This is the party of youth, the party of hip, the party of legalized marijuana and whatever else we can get. And Mrs. Clinton is an old-fashioned fuddy-duddy who needed a manual. You know, did you ever know people at any stage in your life, as an adult, subject comes up, whatever it is, and the person says, “Yeah, I gotta take a class on that”?<\/line><\/p>\n

I can\u2019t tell the number of people, when computers… For me, computers became part of my daily work routine in 1996, \u201997, when him I get my first Apple IIc and then I went up to a Mac. And then in the late eighties, early nineties and all the way through the nineties I\u2019d run to people who\u2019d say, “Yeah, yeah. I gotta take class.” No, don\u2019t take a class. Just go get a computer and start. What do you mean, ‘take a class\u2019?” I\u2019ve never understood this “take a class” business. <\/p>\n

“But there are, Rush! I mean, can go take a class on how.” I know you can, but why don\u2019t just go get a computer and use it? “I don\u2019t know.” It was a very frustrating thing to me. I don\u2019t know why. Just was. And I\u2019m thinking of Mrs. Clinton as one of these people. Go get a book on e-mail? Just do it! Or hire a tech nerd to explain it to you. But anyway, she did. She went out, she requested a book with tips on how to fully delete e-mails, as well as warnings about the possibility of a subpoena. <\/p>\n

Now, I have this from ABC News. There\u2019s a Daily Caller story on it. “The last batch of Hillary Clinton emails released by the State Department included one from Clinton asking to borrow a book called ‘Send: Why People Email So Badly and How to Do It Better,\u2019 by David Shipley and Will Schwalbe. Clinton has not said why she requested the book, but it includes some advice that is particularly interesting in light of the” news today. “The copy that ABC downloaded…”<\/p>\n

You can get this book for ten bucks. ABC got an e-version of it. “Chapter Six: ‘The Email That Can Land You in Jail.\u2019 The chapter includes a section entitled ‘How to Delete Something So It Stays Deleted.'” She didn\u2019t know anything about e-mail, but she knew enough to ask for this book or a book about it? ‘Some people are hoarders, some are checkers,\u2019 the authors write. ‘The main thing to consider is that once you do decide to delete, it\u00c2\u2019s like taking the garbage from your kitchen and putting it in your hallway. It\u00c2\u2019s still there.'”<\/p>\n

Mr. Snerdley, let me just run a little pop quiz. I\u2019m not trying to put you on the spot. I\u2019m not trying to embarrass anyone. Do you know what actually happens when you delete anything on your computer, delete an e-mail or you delete a file? When you drag it to the trash, do you know what\u2019s happening there? Tell me? (interruption) Mmm-hmm. (interruption) Very, very good. Very close. Here\u2019s what happens.<\/p>\n

When you delete a file — e-mail, doesn\u2019t matter. When you delete it, put it in your trash can, however it happens on your computer, what happens is that it\u2019s not deleted. It remains on your hard drive until that space is needed by something else. All you\u2019re <\/line>\"large\"doing when you\u2019re deleting it is removing the protection that it can\u2019t be overwritten from it. Every file on your computer that has not been deleted or put in the trash is protected by some it can\u2019t be overwritten. <\/line><\/p>\n

When you put it in the trash, you\u2019re removing the protection. It\u2019s still there. It will be there forever unless you take further steps to actually permanently get it off of the server, all the bytes that make up that file. Now, the way it usually happens is, you delete whatever it is you delete, and then you keep using your computer, and it could be years before you\u2019ve added enough information on the computer that you need the space that that file you deleted took up, and that\u2019s when it will be over written.<\/p>\n

But even then there are, shall we say, bits of evidence of it remaining. <\/p>\n

There are fragments that are still there. <\/p>\n

So there is just deleting something and it\u2019s still on the server or the hard drive or wherever the file is located. All that happens is, the protection that keeps it from being overwritten by something else is removed. But if it\u2019s not needed, if the space you\u2019re deleted file is taking up isn\u2019t needed, it\u2019s gonna always be there. I\u2019m sure that that\u2019s what she was trying to find. I\u2019m sure this book explained this. I don\u2019t know how technical the book got, but here she is asking for a book on deleting e-mail and how to stay out of jail e-mail. <\/p>\n

You\u2019ve gotta be be kidding me.<\/p>\n

RUSH: By the way, back to Hillary for a minute. She checked out this book, she asked for this book on how to stay out of jail by deleting e-mail back in 2009. What was she doing in 2008 that she needed this book for? She hadn\u2019t yet become secretary of state. She\u2019s running for president in 2008 and she requested this book in 2009 so what was she doing before that that she needed to learn about e-mail and how to delete it and how to keep it secure and how to stay out of jail using it?
