RUSH: Jennifer in Floyd, Iowa, you\u2019re next. It\u2019s great to have you. Hello.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey, Rush, it\u2019s good to be on your show, and I hope you don\u2019t get a really bad cold.<\/p>\n

RUSH: It\u2019s creeping up. I can feel it almost by the hour here. I\u2019m starting to get feverish, you know, starting to get the sweats and stuff. It just ticks me off, Jennifer. It just ticks me off. I\u2019m supposed to be immune from this. I smoke enough cigars to stay immune from it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, I was just calling about the Ten Commandments. Any time anything like this happens in our country I get so upset and so frustrated, because if anyone would just take the time to go back and look at our founding documents, to look at the Mayflower Compact and it talks about God and how it was for the advancement of the Christian faith. And if you go back and look, I believe it was the Continental Congress, when they met in 1777 they recommended and approved that this nation bring in 20,000 Bibles because there was a shortage of Bibles in this country. And there\u2019s just so many quotes, and there\u2019s so much about that in our history, and yet no one bothers to look back at it or it\u2019s not —<\/p>\n

RUSH: That is true, but that\u2019s not what\u2019s happening. What\u2019s happening is, and it\u2019s happening all over the world, but it\u2019s focused here because we are the leading free nation of the world. And so we\u2019re going to be the biggest target of people who are opposed to freedom and particularly religious freedom, and particularly Christianity. Now, what\u2019s happening is — and it\u2019s not new. It\u2019s been going on for a long time. There is an all-out assault on the founding of this country as illegitimate, that everybody about it is illegitimate, from the belief in Christianity. And, in fact, it is the belief in Christianity from which flows all of our sins. Slavery, discrimination, bias, whatever we\u2019re guilty of, races, sexism, bigotry, homophobia, all of those things are claimed to come from the Bible.<\/p>\n

What the Democrats believe about Christianity is good, and that is the government should give everybody things called charity. That\u2019s as far as it goes. But conservatism and Christianity is discriminatory, it\u2019s bias, it\u2019s white privilege, all of these things. And so the very legitimacy of the country is under assault, and has been. The legitimacy of Christianity is under assault, and has been. And it\u2019s been a slow creep so that we\u2019ve gotten to where we are here without a shot having been fired, there hadn\u2019t been declarations of war, unless you\u2019ve been paying attention to the multiculturalists; unless you\u2019ve been paying attention to what\u2019s happening with the curriculum in schools; unless you\u2019ve been paying attention to what\u2019s happening on college campus; unless you\u2019ve been paying attention to what\u2019s happening in the Democrat Party, you would never know of this all-out assault.<\/line><\/p>\n

You wouldn\u2019t realize that global warming is part of it. You wouldn\u2019t realize that gun control is part of it. You wouldn\u2019t realize that national health care is part of it. You wouldn\u2019t realize that taxing the rich is part of it. Everything Democrat Party stands for and supports is about tearing down the foundational building blocks of this country, under the guise that it was illegitimate and immoral and mistreated certain people, even to the point now that we don\u2019t even deserve to be here after what we did to the Native Americans. And we don\u2019t deserve to be here after we did to the Mexicans. And we don\u2019t deserve to be here because we had slaves. We don\u2019t deserve to be here, period. We should never have come in the first place.<\/p>\n

There should never have been the Pilgrims. There should never have been Columbus. There should never have been any migration from Old World to new, and so we\u2019re gonna make it so that that didn\u2019t happen, these people say, by conquering and reconstituting and transforming this country. We elected a president to lead the charge. And I would dare say that 90% of the people, maybe 80% of the people that voted for him had no idea what they were doing, just like this previous caller that we had.<\/p>\n

But, you know, I was happy to hear you read the Mayflower Compact. There\u2019s a reason why in the Rush Revere children\u2019s book series we started with the Pilgrims. Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims chronicles the first stages of the founding of this country. And it is a story that is being mistold and perverted throughout the public school system in this country for years now. And, you know, we\u2019re close to over a million and a half of those for the first book alone in print, and it continues to sell. We\u2019re now the fourth version of the Rush Revere series, Rush Revere and the Star-Spangled Banner, pre-orders right now, the book hits on October 27th.<\/p>\n

<\/a>And for us, see, we get to do something about it, folks. We get to fight back. It\u2019s a very rewarding and heartwarming endeavor for us. And I get to come here every day and speak to you through this microphone, and I at least at the conclusion of each day have a sense that I\u2019ve been able to at least help or do something. A lot of people want to do more than they think they can do, and so they do what they can by supporting various political candidates or causes. But I know there\u2019s a lot of frustration. We\u2019re a majority that\u2019s being tyrannized out of our leadership. We are still the majority. By “we,” I mean, traditional Americans, good, old-fashioned Americans that believe in the founding. I\u2019m not speaking demographically and I\u2019m not speaking religiously. I\u2019m talking about people and what they believe and the way they live their lives.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re being governed by a very, very small minority. We\u2019re being governed against our will, and people are caving under the premise that we\u2019re being mean and it\u2019s time to be nice and so if somebody offended out there over the American flag, okay, we won\u2019t show you the American flag, don\u2019t hate us. Or they\u2019re offended by the Ten Commandments, we\u2019re not Christians, we\u2019re offended over the Ten Commandments. The attitude ought to be, “Screw you, you wanted to live here, this is who\u2019s here. The United States of America was founded as a Judeo-Christian country. If you wanna live here, that\u2019s what you\u2019re gonna see. If you don\u2019t want to live here, then go somewhere else. But you don\u2019t get to come here and change who we are.”<\/p>\n

But yet they are. And people are laying down and letting it happen under the guise of appeasement, less resistance equals peace, not being offensive or what have you. And there\u2019s a lot of fear rolled into this as well. But you and the previous caller are exactly right. Religious freedom is explicitly being targeted right now. And if that goes, legitimate question is what next? And of course all freedom is under assault, and it always is, by the way, folks. The history, as I\u2019ve said countless times, of the human race is tyranny, bondage, dictatorship, suffering, jails, prisons, torture, you name it. That\u2019s what this country\u2019s the exception to and tyrants are threatened by free people and freedom, and this country has always been the outpost of it, is what\u2019s constantly under assault. It always has been. It\u2019s just until recently we have begun to agree with our critics in way too many sectors of the country.<\/line><\/p>\n

I\u2019m feverish; I hate it. Anyway, I have the Mayflower Compact here, and I\u2019d like to read to you how it opens. This is the beginning of the Mayflower Compact: “Having undertaken for the Glory of God, and Advancement of the Christian Faith, and the Honor of our King and Country, a Voyage to plant the first Colony in the northern Parts of Virginia;<\/p>\n

<\/a>“Do by these Presents, solemnly and mutually, in the Presence of God and one another, covenant and combine ourselves together into a civil Body Politick, for our better Ordering and Preservation, and Furtherance of the Ends aforesaid: And by Virtue hereof do enact, constitute, and frame, such just and equal Laws, Ordinances, Acts, Constitutions, and Officers, from time to time, as shall be thought most meet and convenient for the general Good of the Colony; unto which we promise all due Submission and Obedience.”<\/p>\n

Now, they did originally intend to land in what is now Virginia. And things happened. They ended up on the hook of Cape Cod. They called it “Plimouth;” they spelled it with an I. And Plymouth Colony was born. You know the rest of the story. They originally tried to set up a socialist-type existence where everybody got an equal share of everything that was produced, and they found that the laggards and lazy just fed off everybody else. So Bradford said, “Screw this,” and they let everybody keep what they produced.<\/p>\n

They turned to capitalism, and that was the basis for the first Thanksgiving. That! The courage to abandon the original socialism and move toward something else, and it worked so well they had enough bounty to share with the Indians. Yep, it wasn\u2019t the Indians sharing. It was the other way around, and that was the thanks. So, “Having undertaken for the Glory of God, and Advancement of the Christian Faith,” I mean, that\u2019s 1620 or thereabouts, and that\u2019s the early days of the beginnings of the United States of America.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
