RUSH: You gotta hear this. I know I said I was gonna move on. I promise I\u2019m gonna move on the next half hour. You gotta hear this. It\u2019s just in. This is Fareed Zakaria GPS — Fareed Zakaria Global Positioning Satellite — talking with Wolf Blitzer on CNN, and Wolf Blitzer says to Fareed Zakaria Global Positioning Satellite, “A story like this, Fareed, a horrible mass murder in San Bernardino. What kind of message does that send around the world?” Now, imagine your mind-set. Here you\u2019re Wolf Blitzer, you work at CNN, and we\u2019ve got this massive act of terrorism last night, and you\u2019re talking to Fareed Zakaria.<\/p>\n

“What does this say to us about the rest of the world, Fareed? Oh, my God, what does the rest of the world think about us now?”<\/p>\n

And this is what Fareed Zakaria GPS said…<\/p>\n

ZAKARIA: The rest of the world looks at this as the one element of America that they find truly baffling because, you know, there are other elements. We\u2019re more religious than other industrialized countries. But that they understand. (snickers) They used to be more religious themselves. There are other countries that are more religious. With gun violence, the United States is essentially alone in the world. There is no other country that has anything remotely approaching the kind of violence we do. The only country that comes even close is Yemen, which is essentially (snickering) a war zone. So they look at this and they really can\u2019t understand it, and they don\u2019t understand how we put up with it.<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: So Fareed Zakaria GPS happens to know what the world thinks of the United States. And furthermore, considers himself qualified to tell Wolf Blitzer and everybody else watching what the world thinks of us. And what they think of us is, they don\u2019t understand all the guns! The religion, the rest of the world will tolerate that because they used to be, but the guns they just don\u2019t understand it at all! So Wolf fires back and says…<\/p>\n

BLITZER: But in this particular case, as you correctly point out, the shooter — who is now dead, uh, together with his wife, Tashfeen Malik. Uh, they apparently were radicalized, if you will. We don\u2019t know exactly how.<\/p>\n

RUSH: So Wolf wonders how the radicalization happened. The world is looking down on us for it, according to Fareed Zakaria GPS, who has his own show on CNN called “Fareed Zakaria GPS.” Do you want to know the truth about some of these incidents? The truth is that had some of the people in that disability center yesterday had some guns, this may not have happened. And in fact, I\u2019ve got a story here. “Detroit Police Chief: Guns Are Keeping Terrorists From Attacking Our City.”<\/p>\n

And there are a number of other stories out there today, other law enforcement. “All Licensed Handgun Owners Urged to Carry in NY County.” Slowly but surely some reasonable people are figuring out here that one of the reasons these incidents are happening is because they\u2019re soft targets. People are casing the joint, so to speak, and they\u2019re finding out that there\u2019s no gun opposition anywhere near it and therefore it\u2019s smooth sailing. You want to wipe a bunch of people out, you\u2019ll be able to get away with it \u2019cause there\u2019s nobody with a gun to stop you. <\/p>\n
