CALLER: Fine. How are you, Rush?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Very well. Thank you very much.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Thanks for taking my call. Just as a… You know, you have always led us conservatives through some pretty dark times. And there were few places to turn. You never let us down. You always gave us perspective and truth. So I just kind of wanted to say that. But to get to my point, you know, last week you were discussing Trump and the way he talked about “we have to get rid of the lines around the state” during the debate. Well, I have a different take on that. Not only did he say it that way — and you suggested it was because of his advisors that were kind of, you know, doing a tutorial for him for interstate insurance commerce.<\/p>\n

And then also, the thing that bothers me is that when he comments regarding his and the Democrats touchback program — which is theoretically what it is when he said we\u2019re going to do: Send them back and let the good ones back in — you know, Trump isn\u2019t this inarticulate. I think he does it to dumb down his speech. I think he does it to mislead and not have to give explanations. And it keeps his comments kind of on the remedial side. And that\u2019s how I look at this. I know it\u2019s different from what you think, but it\u2019s how I feel. I think he\u2019s talking to a base that he doesn\u2019t have a lot of confidence in.<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: Are you suggesting that Trump is aware or thinks that his base is sort of rudimentary?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Absolutely. Because I think many of them are.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I\u2019m using that word \u2019cause they won\u2019t know what it means, so I\u2019m safe.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m sorry?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Never mind. I\u2019m just talking to myself there. So he\u2019s purposely dumbing it down to relate to them?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Absolutely. <\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s a heck of a charge out there<\/p>\n

CALLER: We have to remove the lines around the states? Are you kidding?<\/p>\n

RUSH: (chuckling)<\/p>\n

CALLER: Then he says we\u2019re going to send them back and we\u2019re gonna bring the good ones back in. That\u2019s the Democrats\u2019 — theoretically the Democrats\u2019 — touchback program; am I right? <\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, yes, it is in the Gang of Eight bill. It\u2019s part of the E-Verify, the getting back in line winning going home and then, yeah, coming back in, legally — of course with an asterisk by your name as having been here so you move to the front of the line. It\u2019s all a scam. But, you know, you\u2019re right. I\u2019ve had it explained to me no less than Senator Schumer.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
