CALLER: Hi, Rush. Dittos from the Commonwealth of Virginia.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I just want you to know I graduated from the Institute of Conservative Studies long before Patrick, who was in your first hour. And Snerdley was so funny because he said he has never taken a call from a John Kasich supporter yet, so I feel duly special.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You are a John Kasich supporter?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, and I just wanted to tell you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay.<\/p>\n


\nCALLER: At our offices in Alexandria, Virginia, I\u2019ve done thousands of phone calls, we\u2019ve put out thousands of yard signs, and I would say 60% of the calls we take say John Kasich is the most qualified candidate, but can he beat Clinton? And if you think I\u2019m kidding, I\u2019m not.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wait, wait, wait. Wait. Hold it. Hold it. Debbie, I can\u2019t understand what you\u2019re saying because it sounds like the wind is blowing through your phone.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Are you taking calls or answering calls? Or making calls?<\/p>\n

CALLER: We make calls to people.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And when you call them —<\/p>\n

CALLER: And what they say —<\/p>\n

RUSH: When you call them are you supporting —<\/p>\n

CALLER: — is Kasich is the most qualified candidate, but can he beat Clinton?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay, but wait.<\/p>\n

CALLER: They\u2019re not big Trump supporters.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Debbie, wait. Wait. Are you calling people to push Kasich, or are you calling just to ask them generically who they\u2019re for?<\/p>\n

CALLER: What we ask them is, are you gonna vote on Super Tuesday in the primary, and if so, have you decided who you\u2019re gonna vote for?<\/p>\n

RUSH: But are you working a Kasich phone bank?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay. That\u2019s all I need to know.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right. I understand that. So you\u2019re pushing Kasich, and you\u2019re getting a lot of support for him, because people think he can beat Hillary?<\/p>\n

CALLER: No. What they say is, 50% of them say, “Can John beat Clinton? That\u2019s why we\u2019re voting for Trump. We think only Trump can bury Hillary Clinton.”<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh. So you\u2019ve got a lot of Kasich supporters —<\/p>\n

CALLER: We\u2019ve got some Kasich supporters, but the ones that really love him and think he\u2019s the most qualified aren\u2019t supporting him \u2019cause they don\u2019t think he can beat Clinton.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah. So it\u2019s the old electability question. You know, Debbie, thanks. This is so — stop and think of that. It\u2019s a Kasich phone bank. They are calling encouraging people to vote Kasich. They find Kasich supporters, but they don\u2019t think he can beat anybody. They think he\u2019s the best, but they\u2019re siding with Trump \u2019cause they think Trump\u2019s the only one that can beat Hillary. Now, if you go to the polling data that the establishment puts out, Hillary creams Trump. That\u2019s what they want you to believe. They want you to believe that Hillary creams everybody except Rubio.<\/p>\n

This electoral season is so unlike anything that I can recall. I mean, this is way, way beyond Perot. And again, the big difference is that Trump wants to win this. Perot never did. He had an entirely different agenda. And I\u2019m not criticizing Perot with this. I\u2019m just telling you he didn\u2019t want to win it. He didn\u2019t want to be president. Not that he wouldn\u2019t have been a good one. But all of this conventional wisdom is based on so many flawed foundations, like an outsider can\u2019t win anything. Like they say Trump has no prayer. You know, I wouldn\u2019t be surprised if whoever the Republican nominee is beats Hillary Clinton in a landslide. I wouldn\u2019t be the slightest bit surprised if that happens.<\/p>\n

Now, the circumstances today are not gonna be what they are in November. But, folks, there\u2019s no excitement on the Democrat side. You\u2019ve got The Forehead and Donna Brazile openly admitting they\u2019re losing sleep over this, on CNN. You\u2019ve got other Democrat operatives and strategists. I know you think, “Rush, they\u2019re just saying that. They\u2019re just setting you up. They\u2019re setting us all up. They\u2019re trying to make us relax so that we think we got a landslide awaiting. They do it every election.” I understand all that. But I can look at the turnout numbers. Nobody\u2019s showing up to vote in these turnouts in these Democrat primaries.<\/p>\n

And nobody\u2019s showing up. It just… The total numbers… Even with all this so-called energy for Bernie, it\u2019s not there in the raw numbers. The Democrat turnout in South Carolina was barely half what it was in 2008. And we\u2019ve got a potential historic first here, first female president, just like Obama was the first African-American president. But back in 2008 there was a Republican villain by the name of George W. Bush and a subsidiary villain called Iraq. And then the third subsidiary villain called the financial crisis, bailouts.<\/p>\n

This year, they\u2019re all in power.<\/p>\n

The Democrats are in power and everything is worse than it was in 2008 — and they still blame Bush for it, by the way. Then you have this story here in Massachusetts from the Boston Herald: “Nearly 20,000 Bay State Democrats have fled the party this winter, with thousands doing so to join the Republican ranks, according to the state\u2019s top elections official. Secretary of State William Galvin said more than 16,300 Democrats have shed their party affiliation and become independent voters since Jan. 1, while nearly 3,500 more shifted to the MassGOP ahead of tomorrow\u2019s ‘Super Tuesday\u2019 presidential primary,” today.<\/p>\n

And there\u2019s no Operation Chaos going on per se.<\/p>\n

I mean, there\u2019s no reason… Why would these people leave the Democrats and move over in Massachusetts to vote Republican? What do you think\u2019s driving that? (interruption) You think there\u2019s a massive Operation Chaos going on that they haven\u2019t announced? You think this is a trick? This is not organized. These people are blindsided by this. The Democrats in Massachusetts are blindsided that this happened. Absolutely. So I\u2019d throw out every bit of conventional wisdom that there is and make up your own mind on this, because I\u2019m telling you: We\u2019re in new territory. Nobody knows what\u2019s gonna happen here.<\/p>\n

We still don\u2019t have any idea.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s impossible.<\/p>\n
