RUSH: Nah, Obama doesn\u2019t even expect this judge to get a hearing. He\u2019s too old, folks. If Obama was serious about the pick, he\u2019d have nominated somebody much younger that\u2019s gonna be on the court, I mean, decades. Merrick Garland is 63. He sounds like a nice guy. And you know the fix is in when we\u2019ve got people telling us, “Hey, you know what? This guy could really satisfy a bunch of conservatives.”<\/p>\n

Come on, folks, could we get real? You know, this is where it all starts to break down. I\u2019ve been watching conservatives on TV, some of them, not a lot, but some saying, “You know what? Obama\u2019s made a genuine compromise pick here. This is gonna be really problematic for the Republicans \u2019cause this is a guy that they could get behind. This guy is closer to Scalia than he is farther from Scalia.” I\u2019m watching this with my mouth open. (laughing) I don\u2019t know how to react to this. Who are we talking about here?<\/p>\n


\nMitch McConnell\u2019s already gone out there and said they\u2019re gonna invoke the “Biden Rules,” which means, sorry, nothing happening this year because it\u2019s a presidential year, and they are the Biden Rules \u2019cause Biden set them. No presidential confirmation hearings on Supreme Court nominees during the last year of a president\u2019s second term. Isn\u2019t happening. And that\u2019s what they\u2019re gonna rely on. Now, we have to trust that they will not cave somewhere down the line. And what are the odds of that? Now, come on, intelligence guided by experience, you think the odds are better than normal that they will not cave in the Republican Senate? Okay. We\u2019ll see.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019ve got an idea on the Supreme Court nomination. I\u2019ve got an idea, Snerdley. I think Mitch McConnell maybe offer a deal to Obama. “I\u2019ll give you your nominee if you\u2019ll have the DOJ indict Hillary.” (laughing)<\/p>\n

You\u2019re thinking, “Hmm, they might do that, and we don\u2019t want the guy on the court.” Would Obama throw Hillary overboard to get his Supreme Court pick for life? Except this is not the guy he wants. The guy\u2019s too old. Whatever else about this guy, he\u2019s 63. Obama\u2019s gonna put somebody, if this were something other than a sacrificial pick, if this were a legacy pick, he\u2019d find somebody in his fifties, late forties, maybe, somebody that would be there forever.<\/p>\n

This poor guy has to know. I think he probably had to agree going in, “Look, you know you\u2019re not gonna get a hearing so we\u2019re gonna do the greatest ceremony in the world for you. And we\u2019re gonna tell the world what a great jurist you are. And we\u2019re gonna get your family up there, gonna have the White House moment everybody dreams of, but that\u2019s it, nothing more.
