BRETT: Chuck Schumer said he was going to “do it to Georgia” and then they were gonna “do it to the rest of the country.” What did I mean by “do it”? Well, the fundamental transformation of America, changing who we are. We\u2019ve been hearing the same story for years and years going back at least to the first Obama administration and maybe the first years of the Obama administration.<\/p>\n

The notions of Green New Deals and transforming America and shovel-ready jobs and changing the way we vote and changing the way we work and all that stuff. It\u2019s the same theme. It just has different labels attached to it in the later iterations. But one of the people that continues to resurface time and time and time again is the former governor of the state of Michigan, now the secretary of energy, Jennifer Granholm.<\/p>\n

\"\"Jennifer Granholm has been pushing and failing at the green boondoggle for years and years and years. In fact, one of the articles that\u2019s out there lingering right now look at this Green New Deal thing — this infrastructure nonsense, the big winner of Biden\u2019s energy plan — is his energy secretary\u2019s old company. Cronyism, right? Cronyism. Well, Rush was on this years ago.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s Rush\u2019s take on Governor Granholm and the so-called green jobs.<\/a><\/p>\n

RUSH: Try this from Michigan, in the Washington Post: “In Michigan, A Yellow Light For Green Jobs.” Let me sum this story up for you. Green jobs are not the answer. Green jobs in Michigan aren\u2019t the answer to the economic woes. Well, guess what?<\/p>\n

This is a very telling argument against all liberal policies. They don\u2019t work! They do the exact opposite of what is advertised. “Since taking office…” Let me give you the first couple paragraphs first to put this in context. It\u2019s in the Washington Post: “If the future of American manufacturing lies in green industries, the Michigan governor\u2019s pursuit of jobs offers a cautionary tale.<\/p>\n

“Four years ago, Jennifer M. Granholm set out to remake her state, which took an exceptional walloping with the decline of the auto industry, as a pioneer in creating environmentally friendly jobs. Today, however, jobs are still disappearing much faster than she can create them, raising questions about how long it will take Michigan and other hard-hit states to find new industries to employ their workers.”<\/p>\n

\"\"She can\u2019t “create” a single job. Jennifer Granholm can\u2019t even do hers very well! The template of this reporter is, ‘Oh, the government! They\u2019re our saviors. “The Democrats have now learned, it\u2019s easier to just expand benefits than to prevent layoffs and create new jobs; and Jennifer Granholm, oh, the jobs are disappearing just so “much faster than she can create them”!<\/p>\n

She\u2019s a ditz! Pelosi is a ditz. Obama is a menace and a danger.<\/p>\n

“Since taking office in 2003, Granholm has created 163,300 positions…” It\u2019s just an out-and-out lie. Government does not “create” jobs unless they hire people to work in government, and that\u2019s not what these jobs are. And anyway, the 163,000 “positions” that she claims she\u2019s created is a number provided by her office.<\/p>\n

“She expects that a recent infusion of more than $1 billion from the Obama administration aimed at nurturing car battery and electric-vehicle projects will generate 40,000 more positions by 2020.” Big whoop! It\u2019s 2009. We ought to be creating 40,000 jobs a freaking day in this country! Given that there\u2019s 9.8% unemployment, 40,000 new jobs a day ought to be being created right now and it could be done with the Limbaugh stimulus plan.<\/p>\n

(sigh) Forty thousand jobs by 2020 in the green sector, batteries and garbage for electric cars! “In the past decade, however, as the auto industry has grown smaller, Michigan has lost 870,000 jobs — about 632,000 of them during Granholm\u2019s tenure.”<\/p>\n

Notice Michigan has “lost” the jobs, she hasn\u2019t. She has “created” 163,000 jobs, but Michigan has “lost” 632,000 during her tenure. And that number, by the way, is “is expected to reach 1 million by late next year, the end of her term.” So, in 15 months, we\u2019re going to lose another 370,000 jobs, but Jennifer Granholm assures us that she\u2019s going to create 40,000 new jobs in another 11 years.<\/p>\n

In 12, 14 months we\u2019re going to lose 370,000, but fear not, folks! Forty thousand brand-new jobs in the green sector are going to be created by…2020. “In her effort to attract employers, the governor has taken up the latest arms in the economic arsenal — tax credits, loans, Super Bowl tickets and a willingness to travel as far as Japan for a weekend to try to persuade an auto parts company to bring more jobs to Michigan.<\/p>\n

“She has won solar and wind energy, electric car batteries, and movie production jobs. About 10,800 of the new positions came from overseas companies, according to her office, the fruits of visits to seven countries. ‘We have great bones as a state,\u2019 she says. ‘We know how to build stuff. We will build on that strength and diversify this economy.<\/p>\n

“‘We will lead the nation in creating jobs in renewable energy. We\u2019re not going to be viewed as Luddites.'” Forty thousand jobs in this stupid green sector in 11 years. And that\u2019s going to be the leader, meaning no other state will come anywhere near 40,000 jobs in 11 years — and this stupid, worthless hoax-of-a-filled green sector!<\/p>\n

\"\"It\u2019s all a freaking hoax, green jobs, windmills, electric cars, solar, it\u2019s all a bag of manure! Forty thousand jobs in 11 years is going to lead the nation? Good God! Are we ever screwed! And this is after getting a billion dollars from that dunce Obama to help ignite the economy — and I\u2019m only on the first page of this story! And I gotta take a break. And I need to take a break to calm down to get through the rest of this garbage.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I was very interested in your story in the Washington Post about Jennifer Granholm, the Michigan governor. The first thing that struck me is this article is in a Washington, D.C., paper; not in a Michigan paper. I think the Michigan news media has a different take on Governor Granholm. And to show you that I\u2019m a perpetual student in the Limbaugh Institute, what this article describes is the ultimate resume enhancement for a promotion of the governor of Michigan to a senior Obama position.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I can\u2019t disagree with any of this.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Sure.<\/p>\n

RUSH: It\u2019s very rare that a caller teaches me but when it happens I\u2019m willing to acknowledge it. You\u2019re absolutely right. The fact this ran in the Washington Post is curious. What do they care, unless they\u2019re out there trying to further this notion of the Obama green sector but they end up trashing it so I don\u2019t think that\u2019s it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, there\u2019s another angle on it, Rush.<\/p>\n

RUSH: But your concluding that failure is resume enhancement for Democrats — i.e., look at Jimmy Carter — then you may indeed have a point here. What\u2019s the other angle?<\/p>\n

CALLER: The green jobs they mentioned, Rush — when they made the announcement, Biden and Granholm in Michigan — they referred to them as union jobs. Does that help?<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>RUSH: Help what? Help me understand something or help what?<\/p>\n

CALLER: How she is positioning herself as a Democrat star of the green revolution.<\/p>\n

RUSH: She may be, but there\u2019s nobody gonna star in that green revolution.<\/p>\n

CALLER: (chuckles)<\/p>\n

RUSH: Folks, let me give you the numbers of this. This is incredible. I\u2019m going to lose my temper again going through this. Michigan has lost, in her second term, 638,000 jobs. They\u2019re going to lose another 370,000 by the end of next year. So in 15 months, 370,000 more jobs will be lost in Michigan.<\/p>\n

Jennifer Granholm is taking credit for the new “green job sector” that she\u2019s going to be creating: 40,000 new jobs in 11 years. This is good news? This country, this is the United States of America. We ought to be creating 40,000 jobs a day in this country, and to herald 40,000 jobs in 11 years in Michigan? Don\u2019t make me laugh! That\u2019s just absurd.<\/p>\n

BRETT: We always hear from the left, right? They call themselves “the progressives.” We always hear from the left, from the socialists, from the leftists, that the only reason why people get rich is because somebody got poor. It\u2019s the narrative that has gone on forever. And it\u2019s been applauded by Bernie Sanders, AOC, The Squad, Elizabeth Warren. The only reason why…<\/p>\n

\"\"They\u2019ll pick somebody: “Jeff Bezos only got rich because he stole it from poor people!” We know that that\u2019s foolishness, because you could never get rich stealing money from poor people \u2019cause poor people don\u2019t have money. That\u2019s the premise. But whenever you see some company doing well, posting profits from the left, you always get the same thing, which is:<\/p>\n

“Well, it\u2019s a zero-sum game. The — the — the company\u2019s making money, so the workers are poorer. That\u2019s what it is!” So when you create green new jobs like out of magic, out of magic, who\u2019s the loser in the zero-sum game? What poor person is getting stolen from to get Solyndra or some other, you know, green new windmill company or whatever it is?<\/p>\n

Who\u2019s the poor schlub that loses all their money from that? Well, the answer is pretty simple. It\u2019s pretty easy to understand. The poor schlub that loses their money is you and me and Rush and everybody listening to this program.<\/p>\n

‘Cause the only reason why green jobs ever manifest — whether they\u2019re good paying union or not — is because they\u2019re using taxpayer money to create the scheme. Solyndra. Windmills. That\u2019s who loses. Yes, these companies, these businesses only succeed because they take their money from the poor — that\u2019s us — the working men and women of America who pay our taxes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
